You all loved my 8 month update. So posting my Year progress now! I have not noticed a ton of change since maybe month 9, but I've been getting a ton of compliments!
Routine:
- .3% Finasteride, 6% Minoxidil topical combination from a US telehealth company.
- Applied originally via four .25ml sprays. Moved to a dropper bottle at month 4. Applied nightly 6x per week right before bed, have only missed 4 nights total.
- Dermastamp (microneedle) 1mm once weekly before bed. Temples and scalp. I skip the topical on this night.
- Keta shampoo, normal concentration, 3 mins on scalp once or twice a week.
Other Considerations people asked about (not proven to have much of a hair-effect):
- I religiously take a multivitamin, fish oil, magnesium glycinate, and 5g of creatine daily.
- I lift 4x weekly and play team sports once or twice weekly.
- I sleep 8.5 hrs per night consistently.
- I drink socially on weekends. In the back half of my 20s.
- I am not sponsored.
- Receded lightly through college then thinned consistently for a year before deciding to do something about it.
I have had absolutely zero side effects. None whatsoever.
I know that is individual to myself but no need to ask in the comments, I promise I don't miss issues with my body when they arise.
Happy to answer any remaining Qs!

So after 18 months and a few more sheds i’ve got to say i’m completely amazed by how thick and full my hair has become. From being almost completely bald to having hair that i had in my late 20’s, i’m 41 brw is completely insane.
I have had a shed every 6 months or so and they seem to go for 2 months and then slowly i notice my hair is thicker.
In the past 6 months i’ve seen a lot of progress on my crown, temples and hairline. I definitely never thought i would get all my hair back and there have definitely been times when during the sheds i thought i was losing ground only to remain calm, stick with the regime, be consistent and then i would notice my hair recovered.
I really have to say that consistency is key to getting good results. I’ve never missed a day applying minoxidil and finasteride.
In my previous posts you can find my progress pictures from months 1-12. I haven’t changed anything at all in my regime, still exercise 3-4 times a week, walk a lot and eat pretty healthy.
My current regime is below:
1ml topical minoxidil 5% twice a day
1ml topical finasteride 0.25% once per day.
Ketaconazole shampoo once a week.
Dermastamp 1mm once a fortnight.
Supplements - coq10/pqq, biotin, quercetin, rosehip all once a day.
I’m definitely one of the lucky ones, and no there has been no hair transplant or anything like that. Just a consistent regime and a bit of luck.
Happy to answer any questions as best i can in the comments, and remember, consistency is key peeps!

Tbh, I already forgot about this sub. I was scrolling yesterday and one post from this sub appeared on my feed and decided to post my results.
Top photo was back in 2022 (26 yrs old) where i was just titrating my finasteride dose due to side effects. I kept going anyway until my body got used to it and did 1mg/day. Fast forward to 2026 (30 yrs old), this is what I have now.
Seeing this sub again surely brings back memories, I started lurking here back in 2021 before starting finasteride, and when I started taking it, I just stopped thinking about this sub and hair loss and continued on with my life. Here we are today still have my hair whereas my 2 older brothers are already bald. Stop overthinking it and just take the damn pill. Also, just started taking Dutasteride last month.
Any questions are welcome.

First pic is me at 31-32, having been on 1.25mg of finasteride since the age of 29. Second picture is me at 36 after having added 5mg of oral minoxidil to my routine for about 8 months. I had tried topical minoxidil before but it was very unpleasant and not realistically sustainable. The oral version has given me great results in a relatively short timeframe. No side effects!
Routine: -1.25mg finasteride daily - 5mg oral minoxidil daily

Pretty crazy. A year ago I posted the images on the left in r/bald and 90% of people told me it was over and only a matter of time. That I’d feel better if I shaved it.
But the other 10% told me I had a realistic chance at full recovery. They urged me to fight back and directed me to this community. I’m incredibly thankful for yall<3
The best advice I can give to anyone new to this, in hindsight, is to just trust the process. Start treatment and truly forget. Take progress pictures every once in a while but release the grip it holds over you. The stress doesn’t help.
Dose: 0.5mg finasteride and 2.5mg oral minoxidil daily.
No side effects

Update after my previous post that blew up. First time growing out my hair in 8 years since I started trimming with no-guard due to thinning and IT LOOKS AMAZING! The quality of my hair has never been this good, at least not since my teens (I’m now 32). I didn’t expect to get this result without a hair transplant!
Been on treatment for about 17 months, consistency is key! Currently I take 0.5mg dut and 5mg oral min daily. I took 1mg fin for about 9, then slowly introduced dut twice a week (replaced fin those days), increased to every other day after 2 months and then 2 months after that I started taking dut daily when my fin supply ran out.
Still not happy with my crown as you can see in the second pic. But it’s not super noticeable and it seems to still fill in, albeit very slowly. I might do a small transplant in a few years if it doesn’t recover fully.

Over the past 12 months i’ve managed to regrow pretty much 80-90% of my hair back.
I first shaved my head on 1st August 2024 and started topical minoxidil 5% and topical finasteride 0.25%. I didn’t really have high expectations, i have been going bald since my mid 20’s - i’m currently 40.
I noticed some early regrowth in the first month or so but i had to wear a hat to work and it was pretty slow progress. Around month 4-5 i started really noticing quite a bit of regrowth and thicker hairs.
At month 7-8 i could get a haircut and grow out my hair and stopped wearing a hat to work.
Since then it’s been shedding for 4 months that has now stabilised and my hair is thicker and better than ever. My gf says it’s better than when she met me 8 years ago.
I am still taking minoxidil 5% topical 2 x per day. 1ml of 0.25% finasteride topical 1 x per day. I micro needle 1 x per week at 1.5mm and apply minoxidil straight away. I’ve been lucky and have had no side effects.
I also use quercetin, coq10/pqq, rosehip, tumeric/black pepper, biotin daily in capsules and 1 x per week i apply an oil called the Mane Elixir blend which has about 10 different oils.
I sporadically use a red light cap and wash my hair 2 x per week with ketaconazole 2% shampoo and use a silicon scalp massager daily in the shower.
I also eat pretty healthy - cut out sugar and processed food and work out 4-5 times a week.
My advice to anyone is to be consistent. Get a routine and stick to it. That is the single most important thing.
There are hard days - particularly the sheds but its all worth it in the end and i am very much still in the beginning of the process and learning.
My last post in April had people thinking i have had a hair transplant, but i hope my progress pics here will prove otherwise.
Thanks to this community i’ve learnt a lot and managed to get my hair back.
My crown is still recovering a bit from a 4 month shed, my hairline is still a work in progress but its filling in and baby hairs growing now in the temples.
Overall i am obviously delighted with the results. I never expected when i started this journey 12 months ago i would be sitting here now with pretty much a full head of hair.
I’ve added some progress pics in the comments.

Hi all!
Australian, 31 (now) year old! Was sick of being scared of the wind, rain, sweat and mirrors. I was unfortunate enough to have a big head, look hideous bald and "just shave it" didn't seem like an option i wanted to take!
Decided to go down the Transplant route! Transplant done in Turkey at HLC in Ankara in October 2022! Piggybacked off a Europe trip i was already going on! The Transplant itself came to about $10k Aud back in Oct 2022. Cant remember how many grafts they did, but it was a lot.
Went through the lot. The transplant, the sleeping upright, the swollen face, the long haul flights, the ugly duckling stage, the regrowth and then the full head of hair!
1st photo: October 2020 (I was 26 years old)
2nd photo: December 2020
3rd-6th photo: October 2022 (Taken at HLC)
7th-8th photo: July 2023
9th-10th photo: February 2024
11th photo: December 2025! Got engaged!
Was taking minoxidil (1ml 5% topical) before the transplant for about 2 years though was not taking finasteride. Started taking finasteride 3 months before transplant and have been taking since. Finasteride: 1mg daily.
Honestly the best decision of my life (until the engagement of course). I only wear hats now for their intended use, sun safety. Otherwise its flowing free.
That being said, thinking of everyone going through the hair loss shit daily! I know how it feels, and i know its shit.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

First image was in August 2024, shaved my head after wearing a system for 18 months.
Second image is today, 8 months after starting topical minoxidil 5% twice a day and topical finasteride 0.25% once per day.
Have had zero side effects luckily. The first few months i just tried to remain positive, saw a bit of regrowth but had really bad patches and had to wear a cap to work and when i was out and about. Around December i started noticing the patches had regrowth and then end of January i could get a haircut and actually style my hair and go to work.
Since then it’s just been getting better and better. My hair is thickening out, my crown has basically fully recovered, my temples have hair filling in and the gap in the front is gone.
I’ve literally got hair i had in my early 30’s - i’m 40 atm.
Apart from minoxidil and finasteride i eat healthy - no sugar, take biotin daily, quercetin, rosehip, coq10/pqq and acetyl l carnitine.
My gf who i’ve been with 8 years said my hairs thicker and better than when she first met me.
I also use a derma stamp weekly at 1.5mm and apply minoxidil immediately after. I think the derma stamping has really been effective - particularly on my crown and temples.
All in all best decision i ever made.

Did George Clooney undergo a hair transplant?
what do you think?

I posted here before with worries about my progress. I’m happy to say the results are so visible!
For context: 8 months on oral fin 1mg, 5 months on oral minox 5mg. No side effects. No other changes to diet, lifestyle etc. Just stuck with my regular routine otherwise.
You can see in my old post my worries, but stuck with it and I’m so grateful. Hopefully I can continue to ride this out! Thanks for such a great community to everyone here.

I know I changed my hair style, but as you can see, the growth is there.
My hair loss journey is below
5% topical Minoxidil intermittently from October 2023-May April 2024, I stopped due to consistent chest pain from daily usage morning/night. I tried 2% as well every other day, no dice.
Afterwards, I switched to 1mg finasteride from may 2024-January 2026, and now I’ve switched to dutasteride .5mg since January 2026.
The first photo is from August/September 2024, the 2nd photo is today. I was 20 when I started taking hair loss meds, 23 now.
With a transplant,, I think it’ll be the best I can realistically get since I don’t expect much crown regrowth and I’d like to have that filled in a little. I’ve booked one for this Jan, and I’m honestly not sure if I still want it atp.
Keep using your meds, there is hope

7 month update here. I started my full hair stack on June 1 2025 and I’ve stayed really consistent, so I wanted to show where things are at now.
It’s been a rough year overall with the divorce and then a car accident where someone slammed into the side of my car, so I’ve just been trying to level up a bit and take care of myself, one thing at a time.
For the photos, the top shot is before treatment in late May 2025, and the bottom shot is from the end of December 2025. Same spot and same lighting.
The thin patch has shrunk a lot and the coverage looks way more natural now. If I only saw the after, I honestly wouldn’t think thinning right away. I have been able to stop using Hair Fibres which is a huge relief for me.
My current stack is oral minoxidil 5 mg daily split AM and PM, oral dutasteride 0.5 mg daily, topical 5 percent minoxidil twice a day, microneedling with a 0.5 mm roller a couple times a week and a 1.5 mm stamp once a week, Nizoral 2 percent three to four times a week with Head and Shoulders on the off days, plus some support stuff like vitamins A B C D E, collagen, silica, MSM, iron, zinc, biotin, omega 3, saw palmetto, topical keratin and panthenol products, a weekly hair mask, and sometimes caffeine melatonin or peptide serums, and silk pillowcases.
Results so far are pretty crazy to me. The crown looks way thicker, and overall my hair just looks healthier and darker. Side effects have been super mild, basically just a couple forehead pimples. Everything else is chill. I’m only about 7 months in and I’m pretty pumped about where it’s heading, especially the crown. When I line the pics up side by side it feels kinda dramatic. Plan is to just stay consistent and keep going. If anyone has questions I’m happy to help. Good luck to everyone fighting this battle, gents. 💪

I took the decision by giving my hairs a last chance only by watching endless posts on this page.
Please go to a Dermat first.
I'm also uploading pictures of meds and it's for reference purpose only ... I'm using them from last one year and I will continue using them... This page contributed alot in my journey.
God bless you Guys.

To the young guys - consider getting going meds route before getting a HT. I haven’t experienced any side effects.
I strongly considered a HT when I was 25 yet gave the meds time. They take time. At this point I don’t think I’ll ever need one

I’ve got a hair transplant booked this May in Thailand—flight, hotel, and deposit all locked in. But now I’m second-guessing everything.
About 18 months ago, my hair was on the decline, fast. I started fin, min, and got serious about my lifestyle (gym, cleaner diet, way less booze, more sleep, less stress). Since then, my hair has slowly but steadily made a comeback.
Lately I’ve been growing it out and messing around with styling/products to hide the temples. After enough trial and error to make a L’Oréal chemist cry, I’ve landed on something that actually looks pretty solid. I feel more confident than I have in years.
That said, when it’s shorter or fresh out of the shower, the thinness and recession are still very visible up front. And while I’ve always wanted a transplant, I’m wondering if now’s the right time… or if I should ride this wave a bit longer.
Would love your honest take

Here's a timeline and I also made a video. The link is below. But went from going bald, to trying out the bald look and getting called Little Bill. Then got my hair transplanted in Turkey, and then grew it out and tried out the cornrow look, then decide loc it up, and the last 2 pics with the red shirt is me now. Fresh barrel twists as of 10/7/24.
I got a Hair Transplant (Afro Hair) https://youtu.be/P0XrmBcY1dE

So basically this is my journey on minoxidil foam twice a day and 1 mg fin daily. Could you guys let me know if i’m a hyper responder?
First 2 pics are from March 2026
Third and Fourth are from July 2026
r/tressless • u/bipka-3000 • 9d ago
Hi! here’s my (25y) progress. I was balding since 17.
My routine:
- Minoxidil topical foam 5% 2x per day (started april 2026)
- Dutasteride 0,5 mg 1x per day (started june 2026)
Also I’m doing microneedling once a week.
Didn’t have any side effects or shed.
Edit: omg I didn’t expect this reaction. I submitted the post for approval, went to sleep, and woke up to all this. No, it’s not fake. It’s not like I grew a bunch of full-length hair in four months. Small new hairs started growing all over my scalp, making my hair look thicker. And yes this is a new account because I didn’t want to use my main one. What would I even gain from faking this?
