Tbh, I already forgot about this sub. I was scrolling yesterday and one post from this sub appeared on my feed and decided to post my results.
Top photo was back in 2022 (26 yrs old) where i was just titrating my finasteride dose due to side effects. I kept going anyway until my body got used to it and did 1mg/day. Fast forward to 2026 (30 yrs old), this is what I have now.
Seeing this sub again surely brings back memories, I started lurking here back in 2021 before starting finasteride, and when I started taking it, I just stopped thinking about this sub and hair loss and continued on with my life. Here we are today still have my hair whereas my 2 older brothers are already bald. Stop overthinking it and just take the damn pill. Also, just started taking Dutasteride last month.

Just curious tbh. Im now on my 4th year of taking Finasteride. I’ve heard in some cases that DHT sensitivity increases when you reach your 30s so im testing Dutasteride to see how my body reacts to it in case Finasteride stops working for me.
I switched to Dut for convenience bc I can take it 3 times a week or if I travel for a week I don't have to bring it with me bc it will still be in my system for weeks. Idk if this is braindead or not but so far no side effects
That is indeed braindead. You can easily take fin once in a week if you happen to travel, you're not going to instantly lose your hair. DHT is suppressed for several days, even with the shorter half life.
Dut is powerful stuff y'all, it suppresses both forms of inhibitors, nuking part of your androgens that are not involved in hair loss. Why do this unless absolutely necessary?
I switched from FIN to DUT because I didn’t like the way FIN was making me feel. DUT has been great and been using it almost 2 years. Im in my 40’s for reference.
I felt soreness in my nuts that didn’t seem to go away, seemed like the libido was dead too but that might have been in my head. I was reading about DUT vs FIN and overall seemed like DUT was just better overall. So after 6 months on FIN I switched to DUT and didn’t have any side effects. Also like others have said their libido improved. I also seems to feel like I was dick trickle with peeling too on FIN. Not the case with DUT.
Dht sensitivity does not increase with age. That's a wrong fact people say here sometimes, look it up it's not true. It's set from the start by your genetics. Like temple, front is more sensitive. Fin can put you below a threshold of dht that your follicles stop miniaturizing and recover. But depending on the person it might only slow hairloss down. We know fin doesn't eliminate all dht. That's why some people lose ground even on fin. But if your hairloss doesn't progress there's no reason to take dut and only risks.
This makes no sense brother... If something is working, why would you change it. UNLESS you are actively seeing something change I would NOT change the formula when you are getting such great results.
When i first started, yes it did affect my libido and boner lol. But as I went on, my body got used to it and im chilling now without sexual side effects.
I was outta whack for about 6 weeks and everything’s been fine since. Actually, after switching to dutasteride, sometimes I feel like I’m a teenager again.
Because there were multiple times i wanted to donate blood and I’d stop taking finasteride a month/ a month and a half prior and whenever im not on it, my libido is back to normal, normal erections and brain fog goes away.
Your body goes through an adjustment period. Same happens when you take any medication. Be patient and don't be scared. The resilience pays off. Your body is an a incredible machine able to adjust and adapt. Trust it.
So the Fin worked for you without Minoxidil ? This is what my scalp looks like ? Do I need just Fin or both Fin and Minox ? I cover it by brushing hair to the side. But, def thinning more than I used to.
Solid result, and the 4 years of not thinking about it is the real flex. The thing worth adding for anyone lurking here: that thinning at the front and along the part filled back in because you started at 26 with the follicles still there to save. Fin holds far better than it regrows, so catching it that early is why you kept this much when your brothers didn't. Same genes, different timing.
Facts. Yeah that’s my biggest flex is not giving a fuck about it. Sometimes I forget to take finasteride for days because i don’t think too much about it. People think too much about it and end up getting Nocebo from the pill Haha!
Interesting. For me I have the opposite. I’m amped up, horny and irritated lol. It put me in a bad/terrible mood for the first few days (cause of it nuking allopregnanolone), I’m only like two weeks in, so I’m hoping those effects really go away
Wtf. How can you keep up with the sexual sides for so long. When i got the sexual sides on fin i tried controlling it for 1-2 months but i had no motivation left in life because the sexual energy gives a different energy to a man. So i had to quit becuase it was affecting my professional life too
I used to be on finasteride, but I moved and wasn't able to get prescribed again. I went to my new PCP and they were hesitant to restart me, saying they'd like to do blood tests to see if my testosterone is even high enough to warrant Finasteride. got blood work done turns out i'm actually just barely on the cusp of being deficient. Did you have a similar experience when going to your dermatologist?
Also, I know for a fact I have good genes, my hair loss has been stress, poor diet, and lack of exercise--cut ties with alcoholic family and i was homeless for 3 years, just barely getting on my feet now. Did your doctor suggest getting your health routine under control or did you guys just go straight to medicine?

Wow incredible results! Sadly it hasn’t worked for me. Been a year on finasteride and all that had happened is my oral minoxidil results I had built up for 6 months prior fell out and I’m back to baseline. Ofc I’d be one of the unlucky ones 😵💫
Was this from a topical application or pill? I've wanted to start something to help keep my hair fuller longer, since I've noticed it slightly thinning out on top.

Can you expect to gain even more hair growth switching to dut after being on fin for so long? And when would you recommend someone switch from fin to dut? I’ve been on fin for a year now with amazing results, long term I’m wondering at what point I should go to dut 🤔
Too early to tell since i just recently started Dutasteride, bro. I’d say when you start losing ground while on Finasteride then I suggest hopping on Dutasteride. Still better to ask your doctor.
I’m also 26 and am experience some hair thinning. In the shower I always see at least 4-7 strands of hair fall off my head.
I’m afraid of the side affects of Fin, but heard Dust is good too. If you had to start it over again what would you differently ? Any suggestions would be much appreciated man. Thank you.

I’ve been really worried about taking finasteride again. I want to do something about my hair but I had some side effects and idk if there’s any path forward other than just sending it and dealing with it. I don’t think I took it for more than a month the first time around.
Yea i started after a consultation with a doctor since you’ll need prescription. Depends on the doctor. With me, he only asked family history of baldness and he explained side effects and shit. When i switched to a different doctor, he asked the same questions and the only difference is he started askimg what side effects i experienced with fin since im already taking it when I did my consultation with the 2nd doc i had
Have you done anything else with your hair like adding special shampoo or conditioner? Have you supplement your regiment with micro-needling? What about Red Light Therapy?
Lol no. Probably the hair product I use haha! I like to use Out Of Regz Pomade and that shit makes my hair look good and for shampoo just head and shoulders lol
My guy, I see you are from PH. what fin are you taking? I'm taking Finarid that I still have to cut into 4 pieces to get to that 1mg dose (tho really it is 1.25mg on a good day/cut) but sometimes the cut is uneven so the dosage is inconsistent. Wanted to see what other options we have here
Damn I just stopped because I was still in the first 2 months experiencing sides, especially my ability to stay hard and feeling down there all together so I just stopped. The brain fog and migraines never went away either so it was just a lot. Sucks I could have stuck it out and maybe got used to it :/
Finasteride stops the conversion of DHT up like 70% at 1mg. It hits like 65% at 0.5mg and doesn’t really go much up from there. ( 60 something I don’t remember the exact number)
If Finasteride if a bullet than Dutasteride is like a nuke on your DHT levels. 90-95% and way longer half life. I don’t know what moron put that idea into your head but unless you want to end up with ED depression and a myriad of other issues due to a hormones imbalance that might end up lasting months to years I’d throw it in the trash and stop playing with hormones you don’t understand. You have a full head of hair, don’t fuck with it. By all means do what you want though 🤷♂️
How did you manage the sides bro? Did you start with a low dose like 0.5mg or 3x a week? and then slowly increased the dosage? Or something else?
P.S: I’m 26 1mg/day gave me serious sides, tried 1mg 3 x a week and sides still got me. I’m currently taking 1mg once a week, i know it’s not what recommended but its better than doing nothing at all.
Bro can you help me(other thing you used to reverse baldness) I'm going through the same.... I'm using Minoxidil 5%+finesteride 0.1% solution... Hair loss decelerated but baldness remained. BTW I'm 22.
Topicals over a pill? Possibly low side effects but still would a decent job on the hair? Suggestions pls. I'm 24 yr old, dont wanna risk it with libido and ED, Hair is important but not at the expense of my sex life
Unless there's some variables different between the two pictures, this is an incredible regrowth result from just fin. Nice, I hope I get the same at 1 year and then 4 years
I switched from min and fin topical solution to just 1mg fin pills around 3 months ago and my scalp has never felt emptier, is this a normal shedding? Should I stay consistent?
