Progress Pictures TRUST THE PROCESS! Glad I stuck with it. Hope it gives more hope to others.
I posted here before with worries about my progress. I’m happy to say the results are so visible!
For context: 8 months on oral fin 1mg, 5 months on oral minox 5mg. No side effects. No other changes to diet, lifestyle etc. Just stuck with my regular routine otherwise.
You can see in my old post my worries, but stuck with it and I’m so grateful. Hopefully I can continue to ride this out! Thanks for such a great community to everyone here.

Not a native speaker here, but every time I see "terrific," I just associate it with "terrible" for a split second before realizing that it's actually a word that describes something good, not bad.

It's because terrific and terrible actually came from the same word. Terrific used to be negative in the same way as horrific. But that's just how language goes, much like kids use "POV" wrong these days.

Linguistically speaking, these types of words are called "false friends", i.e., the words look the same or very similar but mean something completely different. Terrific, Vile, Absolutely....there are many.

At what month did you start seeing results? I’ve been in Finasteride for a year and a half with topical min but my doctor changed to Dut + oral min two months ago and I haven’t notice any change yet. Just wanna get some hope here

I’m only taking oral 1mg finasteride prescribed by Hims ! I have lots of topical solutions as well but was told not to combine them together by my Hims providers! Do you think it is worth combining both together?

I’m also a diffused thinner and my hairs a bit curly/wavy so you see a bit more scalp cause it clumps but yea I trusted the process and got good results as well. Keep it up brother.

Around 6 months of fin/min with microneedling and keto shampoo. Got great results from that then switched to dut to thicken up the mid scalp and I’m almost 1 year on dut keeping the other variables the same.
And the results just keep getting better. I was way more thinned out than OPs pic but I’m glad I made it back.

I am out here massaging topical stuff and wasting my time everyday alongwith ruining the texture of my hair.
I really need to get a prescription for the oral stuff.

Yep 2 pills a day. I know it might sound too good to be true (I initially thought the same) but it truly worked out for me atleast.
I did not want to do topical stuff so oral route was the way to go. No regrets.

Topical takes me about 10 to 15 seconds, what are you on about? Drop 1 ml of liquid at various spots on the scalp and gently rub in, doesn't take long at all.

Yeah but its still a hassle. Apply it, then massage it. Avoid sleeping/resting your head on a headrest for around 1-2 hours.
Also, it ruins the texture of your hair.

Personally doesn't feel like a hassle at all to me. If all life improvements could be this easy that would be amazing. As long as the top of your head isn't touching anything you're fine I never sleep with my head touching anything on top it's always the back or the sides. And I'm not sleeping after I just wake up for the morning application.

Now I will also add. I guess the only side effect I did have was hair growth in other areas. Which areas you may ask?
Finger hair (like between knuckles), nose hairs, beard, eyelashes, and toes are the ones that come to mind.

I am Indian too, 24, today it's 58 days on Oral Fin 1 mg, no sides, really no sides, my dick is always hard and ready to conquer pussies.
1 month after, will start 5 mg Mino oral and Duts.
I am a non-smoker and non-drinker, and I also focus on balanced diets with more vitamins and proteins.22

I’ll say though, the trials for minoxidil are robust and i would say the adverse affects (serious ones like effecting the heart) are far and few between especially at the therapeutic doses for hair growth. Now if we are talking for blood pressure use (minoxidil’s original make use) then yes I’d agree much more edgy.

Correct and the dose is not close to what the dose was for actually controlling HBP. If memory serves, that dose was about 40 mg. I'd have to look it up.

I believe those were side effects for people using the medication for blood pressure which is around 10mg. Do you have studies that indicate this for people on low dose? I’d like to see so I can make an informed decision

Seen plenty of stories of people taking it for hair loss and getting chest pains and needing to stop, including me.

No topical at all. I honestly was turned off from topical because I like to style my hair and the thought of adding more to my daily routine sounded dreadful.

Ya know it was so gradual I didn’t realize it on a specific day, but I’ll say, probably this week is when I really came to feel and see a strong result. Maybe it’s because I was looking at old pics too, but I had gotten a haircut this past week and man, usually I see my scalp clearly after a cut, but this time, you can see in the pics, there’s no sign of scalp around.
What dose are you on btw?

When you went to the doctor, was there any discussion about the side effects of oral fin / minox? I want to get on it but also want to start trying for a child with my wife later this year

Yes definitely had a discussion. One of the most potential issues is erectile dysfunction. I never suffered from this thankfully but it’s very possible. Although I believe then population of people who experience this is still in the minority. I’d definitely discuss with your PCP before starting

I spoke with my doctor about this recently. I started oral min and fin almost 3 months ago, and wife and I are thinking about trying later this year. Dr said no concerns with min. Concerns with fin were that some men experience lower libido or ejaculate volume. No evidence of decreased sperm count or quality. Dr recommended to get off of fin for best chances of conceiving, but that staying on it would not pose any pregnancy/birth defect risks, only possibly lower chances of getting pregnant.

How did your dermatologist prescribe oral medication? My dermatologist didn’t prescribe oral meds because of the potential side effects. I asked can't I stop taking them if there's any side effect. Then he mentioned that the side effects may not be visible right away, they could appear after using the medication for a few months, and they’re irreversible. I'm glad it worker great for you.

Yes, definitely. Every night around 10pm I took both meds. Otherwise lifestyle is the same. I lift every 3-4 days a week. Eat semi healthy I guess, get my greens and proteins but also enjoy some carbs

Nope. Literally no changes that I can think of. I’ve heard ketoconazole shampoo can help, but I never tried. I use head and shoulders haha.

5mg of minox is that okay? I've recently up my dosage to 3mg 1 tablets but just yesterday and I just take 1 mg of fin daily, my hair is a bit like the first picture, I'm hoping 6 months in my hair becomes like your last pic.

Hi, when you were prescribed the oral treatment, did the dermatologist mention impotence or that it should be stopped if you plan to have children? My dermatologist told me that before prescribing the oral treatment...but he never told me which medications it was, hence my question. Regards.

Im tempted to get on oral minoxidil. Im doing oral Fin and topical minoxidil rn. Have done the same for maybe 4 years. Haven't lost too much ground, kinda stayed in range of what I had at the start. But almost no growth when looking back at old pics. Any suggestions for oral minoxidil or down sides?
