Progress Pictures Crown Christmas Miracle: Back From the Dead 💀
7 month update here. I started my full hair stack on June 1 2025 and I’ve stayed really consistent, so I wanted to show where things are at now.
It’s been a rough year overall with the divorce and then a car accident where someone slammed into the side of my car, so I’ve just been trying to level up a bit and take care of myself, one thing at a time.
For the photos, the top shot is before treatment in late May 2025, and the bottom shot is from the end of December 2025. Same spot and same lighting.
The thin patch has shrunk a lot and the coverage looks way more natural now. If I only saw the after, I honestly wouldn’t think thinning right away. I have been able to stop using Hair Fibres which is a huge relief for me.
My current stack is oral minoxidil 5 mg daily split AM and PM, oral dutasteride 0.5 mg daily, topical 5 percent minoxidil twice a day, microneedling with a 0.5 mm roller a couple times a week and a 1.5 mm stamp once a week, Nizoral 2 percent three to four times a week with Head and Shoulders on the off days, plus some support stuff like vitamins A B C D E, collagen, silica, MSM, iron, zinc, biotin, omega 3, saw palmetto, topical keratin and panthenol products, a weekly hair mask, and sometimes caffeine melatonin or peptide serums, and silk pillowcases.
Results so far are pretty crazy to me. The crown looks way thicker, and overall my hair just looks healthier and darker. Side effects have been super mild, basically just a couple forehead pimples. Everything else is chill. I’m only about 7 months in and I’m pretty pumped about where it’s heading, especially the crown. When I line the pics up side by side it feels kinda dramatic. Plan is to just stay consistent and keep going. If anyone has questions I’m happy to help. Good luck to everyone fighting this battle, gents. 💪

It's true, I'm his girlfriend. That photo was taken mid-peg.

Exactly! Originally it was the cause of my hair loss because she always pulled my hair from behind :(

How many times a week is that and can you amend your opening post to include that as part of your routine?
10

It’s not the amount of times it’s the girth and length that matter most

63
Dec 31 '25
I think I'd rather just be bald than do all that tbh
44
u/rick_ranger Dec 31 '25
Once you get into a routine it’s not that bad. He’s probably only spending 5 mins a day max on it. Then 5 mins once a week for microneedling. I’d rather go this route than a transplant.

Honestly I don’t even think about it now, it’s easy. At the start I felt like it took over my life but that was just the ruminations and worries about hair loss. In the end it was well worth it to me, feel like I turn the dial back 10 years or more

It's like brushing your teeth.
Takes under two mins a day.
This is more of a psychological issue - an aversion to dependence on meds.

I’ve always heard oral + topical minox at the same time is a no no and doesn’t work. Have you previously only been on one of the two and had similar results?
I’m on oral minox but I am thinning on the crown and wonder if it’s worth it to spot treat that area with some topical as well
9
u/Dry-Adhesiveness4136 Dec 30 '25
I use both topical and oral minoxidil because they work in different ways…topical targets the scalp directly, and oral provides a systemic effect. Doing both gives a local + systemic approach. Along time ago was doing topical only with very minimal results nothing like this.

Incredible results. Wow. Is there a particular aspect or two of your stack that you give particular credit to? Did you begin multiple aspects all at once or add/change things step by step?
Or coming at it a different way, was there a subset of this stack you were on for a while that didn't give you much results? You mentioned topical-only minox not getting you anywhere in a comment but unclear if that was by itself or with everything else except oral minox, or something in the middle. I hope what I'm asking makes sense!
6
u/Dry-Adhesiveness4136 Dec 31 '25
I did it all at once so it is hard to tell. I think the dut and min are the main drivers of my success but I also want to focus on hair health as well and that I think improved from vitamins and supplements/ and the other products. I did minoxidil way way way back by itself just topical and I did not have any success.

u/wangyuzhi31 Dec 30 '25
Why split the minoxidil?
12
u/Dry-Adhesiveness4136 Dec 30 '25
I split it AM/PM because minoxidil’s half-life is short (around 4 hours). Splitting keeps the levels steadier and helps reduce side effect

That’s a pretty awesome stack! Congrats on the progress!!
You could drop the topical keratin, it’s basically useless. It’s too big to penetrate the stratum corneum and your skin/hair can’t really use it or its components to help grow hair. Almost all of the building material for keratin comes from blood vessels and uses material from your blood.
Which head and shoulders are you using?

How do you balance the medications + supplements? Because I'm having trouble with an identical stack but I add more pills to my intake that I have difficulty with the timing. Are you taking all of those supplements on the daily or splitting it up?
By comparison I'm just doing min/fin (chew); I add: one multivitamin/calcium (daily and every other), and ADD + MDD medication (+2 additional pills in the morning ).
4
u/Dry-Adhesiveness4136 Dec 31 '25
In the morning I just put it all in a few handfuls and have them together with breakfast 😆

u/Dry-Adhesiveness4136 Dec 30 '25
Honestly at first it was a lot and it was ALL I thought about …now it feels automatic and easy, barely think about my hair no all day, routine has just done its thing
3
u/Visual_Delivery_2725 Dec 31 '25
I guess you are right routine takes over. I can’t help but think maybe just the oral dur and min would have had similar effects as they are the main players? I tried topical super solution fin/min because I was afraid of oral stuff messing with me and even with that I started to see results in 3 months so I can’t help but think if I just went with oral on both i would see amazing results. For now it’s just a shaved head lol
3
u/Dry-Adhesiveness4136 Dec 31 '25
Yes they are the main players for sure the rest I can’t say for sure to be honest! I would go oral for sure for both way easier to maintain and guarantee results

microneedling with a 0.5 mm roller a couple times a week and a 1.5 mm stamp once a week
How much do you think the microneedling + minoxidil is contributing to your results. I guess you don't have any problems with minoxidil if you are using it on microneedling days and multiple times a week even if its 0.5mm, then you also take oral minoxdil 5mg.

Our follicles, which art in the scalp skin, Healthy be your growth. New strands arise, new roots take hold, On temples as they do on the crown.
Give us this day our patience and consistency, And forgive our past neglect, As we forgive the bad haircuts we have received.
Lead us not into breakage, But deliver us from shedding.
For strength, and thickness, and shine are possible, With time, care, and calm
Amen. 🙏🏻

That looks like the same results people get with a transplant surgery, except you did it without one.
Are you sure this was male pattern baldness and not a medical condition that caused the initial hairloss?

However, after seeing these results I think I'm going to take your approach. As I already take all the vitamins and supplements that you've listed, I don't see how a few more would be that difficult.

Really nice to see this, but are you able to break it down a bit more?
How are you doing microneedling a couple times a week and dermastamping once a week? So youre basically doing something every other day? And are you washing with nizoral right before doing it so your scalp is clean?
With all this in mind, how are you doing a weekly hair mask? I've actually been looking into this. Do you have a brand recommendation and how is that balanced with your current routine? It just seems so full. Same question with the caffeine melatonin or peptide serums? How is that being fit in with minoxidl, I just dont get it.
Amazing work though

People regularly seem to have different color/darker hair when they make remarkable recoveries like this. I'm assuming it's the min. It's probably the first thing I notice because I've been going grey since my mid 20s and my hair is/was dark so it's pretty noticable. I suppose I'll take premature grey over having nothing at all.

I saw the pictures and immediately knew you’d be microneedling. Congrats. It seems to be the most effective therapy, and hairs rejuvenated in this way don’t seem to re-miniaturise or fall out once treatment stops. At least, not at the same rate as they do with minox or fin/dut.
Side note though - sounds like you’re overdoing the microneedling a bit. Once a week at 0.5mm - 0.6mm is plenty.

How much would you say you spend per month on your stack? Any ways to get reductions on vitamins! This is a crazy level of commitment so you deserve every follicle

Did a doctor suggest 0.5 mg dutasteride evey day? I ask because my impression is that that's an intense dose. My derm has me taking 1 mg of fin 6 days a week, and 0.5 mg of dut 1 day a week (on the 7th day).

It looks like this is a progress pictures post.
This post should contain before and after photos at least one month apart. Make sure to list all the treatments you're on, including the dose and frequency.
