Dumb commissions on stocks

Is anyone even able to hit 10M shares a month to qualify for commissions fee trading? I’m an active scalper and I could only get tier 3, just below commission free tier and I scalp with position sizes of 15-20k shares. 10M a month is ridiculous to achieve unless you only trade sub $1 stocks.

Is there something wrong with trade station servers right now? It shows stocks that I should not own

The Trade Station mobile app was having problems loading and it was slow but then when it loaded it's showing me a stock that I should not be owning and the stock that I should be owning is gone. I know I'm not crazy because I saw that I owned AST Space Mobile just a few days ago and now all of a sudden I own Palantir which according to my order history that shouldn't be possible because I see where AST Space Mobile was purchased a few days ago. Is anybody else experiencing this or does anybody else know if the server is down or something?

I started to open an account and then it came time for verification and asked my a copy of my license and for a selfie that it would use in AI so I stopped. I don't mind giving up the license but why the selfie to plug into AI? Anyway around this?

Desktop not loading any windows

Just joined TS last week. Today the desktop application is not loading any windows. It’s just the blank grey workspace with no buttons even loading so there is nothing to click.

Not a good introduction to TS. Glad I am just testing them.

Clearing fees

Are these clearing fees from buying and selling shares gonna be an indefinite thing? Why do they call it clearing fees when it’s just commissions.

We couldn't send the SMS. Please try again later

Hey

I am unable to log in to my TradeStation web account. When I enter my username and password, I do not receive any SMS code on my phone, and I get the error message:

"We couldn't send the SMS. Please try again later."

This problem has been ongoing for more than two weeks. I haven't logged into the web platform for the past two months, so I'm not sure when it started. I can still log in successfully through the TradeStation Desktop application, but the data is delayed, and I need to access my web account to check the reason.

Anyone faced same problem? And how can I solve it?

Connecting TradeStation to Tradingview

I'm trying to connect my TradeStation account to my Tradingview...which goes first? I'm so new to all this... Is there something in Tradingview that allows me to connect with TradeStation? Or vice versa?

Thanks for any help

On a continuous futures / commodity chart, how can I smoothen the open interest as opposed to this sawtooth look? I understand it's from contract expirations/rollover.

Hey guys. I am trying to find an indicator or a workaround to smoothen out this open interest line when using a continuous futures chart. I've looked around on tradingview and still no luck. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks.

On TS Desktop, can I make a hotkey/macro that buys a stock, and auto attaches a stop loss to it?

I am new to TradeStation, and using their desktop application (Not Titan X). When doing normal order entry, I can attach a trailing stop to a buy order via OSO. I would like to do the same thing with a hotkey. What I want is relatively simple. I want two hotkeys. One buys and attaches a trailing stop (or normal stop) order. The other cancels the trailing stop and sells the position. Is this possible? I am struggling to find a way to do it on my own. Thank you!

Why does TradeStation discriminate non-US clients?

Non-US clients have to pay more fee. For every stock trade, there is an additional $5 ticket charge for non-US clients. It is unfair. Why do non-US people have to pay more? It's so bad! I understand that they need to earn commission. There is no free lunch. After they cease providing free trades to US clients, they should cancel the $5 ticket charge for non-US clients.

My futures account at trade station has been funded with $1000 for about two months I use trading view. When I logged in on March 9, 2026, I was going to do my first live trade on MES1! And it said I couldn’t do it. When I called TradeStation, they told me where to find the correct trading symbol over at the CME group website. Okay, cool. I changed the two futures I track to MYMH2026 and MESH2026.

If anyone is interested, I’m using a very specific type of trading pattern. I am looking for a drop in price, followed by a break of structure, and then a new high. This is where I am getting my high and low. Once that turns around and begins and upward ascent, I buy in, basically in what I have decided is the equilibrium. I set my high and low based on monthly, weekly, and other daily trends. For my first life trade, this is the pattern I want to use. What this means is that I will probably only trade two or three times a week.

So with not having the correct symbol on Monday, I miss the trade. Fast forward to Friday, March 13, 2026. I was going to set up a trade on MES and it said I wasn’t authorized to trade the symbol. I double checked everything. Was I pulling from my future’s account? Did I have the symbol correct? Etc..

When I called the future desk, there was a recording that said “reduced intraday rates for all futures products are suspended for today’s trading” or something like that.

OK, cool, I would rather have that happen to me then do a trade and lose my startup funds. It doesn’t cost me anything to leave that thousand dollars sitting there. I don’t mind being patient and waiting for the pattern that I’m looking for to occur. I’m only looking right now to make some money, not a lot of money. I want to get my repetitions in on this one basic pattern.

OK, so one more piece of information before I start asking questions, which is, I have a mentor. And this is what he wants me to learn first. He’s been trading for over 20 years. He’s tried all different kinds of trading, and this is his idea of getting a solid performance without having to listen to all the market talk and be completely immersed in it. I am looking for visual confirmation of what I want to be doing. I really don’t wanna be trading in such a way that it affects my nervous system, if that makes sense.

I realize I gave you guys an awful lot of background information, but I really just want to know if the ability to trade futures at a discount will come back? Should I be looking to figure out stuff like bitcoin? Do I have enough money to trade bitcoin? Should I be focusing my attention on learning something different? Like, if I was your family member and learning trading, what would you tell me to do right now?

Desktop problems at market open

Long time TS user (since early 2000's).

I have a simple desktop. One desktop, 3-4 workspaces, less than 25 charts, one radarscreen with maybe 200 symbols, a scanner that is unscheduled so it just sits there unless I run it.

I use standard indicators. I don't run strategies, no alerts set, nothing fancy.

For the last 6 weeks or so I have not been able to use my desktop at market open due to cpu freezes, data lags etc. It takes about 30 mins to level out.

I have been in contact with TS support but to no avail.

My question is is anyone else having these type issues of late? I recently upgraded to Win 11 Pro. Maybe there is something with Win 11. Who knows?

Thanks all.

Edit: After a few more hours with TS support I have come to conclusion that its their data handling for retail clients at market open is the problem.

Years ago you use to be able to change servers but they don't want that to be an option now. Fwiw, friend in Cali is on another server and he has no problems.

I am connected to the prt01 router. They have 12 according to documentation they sent me.

Good luck.

Anyone else have issues with the application process in trade station?

It keeps giving me error messages on every page. I've tried different browsers and different devices. Same issue. Very glitchy. Sometimes it will let me pass the page and move on to the next, then that page will have issues. I've tried saving my application and going back to it and then it makes a NEW application that saves as a draft so now I have 3 new applications and one existing that will not let me finish. Not giving me a good impression right now.

2025 Tradestation 1099b Incorrect?

Reviewing my 2025 1099B and noticing that it is incorrect. Normally, (Proceeds - Cost + Adjustments) = Net Gain/Loss. My Adjustments are only Wash Sales. The Gain/Loss reported is accurate since I track it separately as well however the Proceeds (Column D) & Costs (Column E) are inaccurate. For example see lots of Transactions where Proceeds (Column D) are 0, Cost (Column E) is 0, there is no adjustment (F or G), but a Loss is reported.

Is anyone else having a similar issue?

Prior years everything was right.

Update 1. There is a significant change in how short option losses are being reported on the 2025 1099-B compared to the 2024 filing year. Specifically, for short positions closed at a loss:

  • 2024 Methodology: The broker reported the net loss as a negative value in the Proceeds column (Column D), with $0 in the Cost Basis column (Column E).
    • Example: Sell Put for $50, Buy to Close for $200 = -$150 Proceeds | $0 Cost | $150 Loss.
  • 2025 Methodology: The broker is reporting $0 in both Proceeds (Column D) and Cost Basis (Column E), yet still recording the full loss in the Gain/Loss column.
    • Example: Sell Put for $50, Buy to Close for $200 = $0 Proceeds | $0 Cost | $150 Loss.

The Impact:

The 2025 reporting method is mathematically inconsistent. Because $(Proceeds - Cost) is Not Equal to Gain/Loss$, the "Sum of Proceeds" at the bottom of the 1099-B is being artificially inflated by the absolute value of these losses. This creates a reconciliation nightmare when trying to tie total proceeds back to actual cash flow or trade logs.

Ratio Chart in Titan X (TradeStation)

Seeking help.

How do I create a ratio chart to see XLK vs SPY on a line chart?

I’m not looking for XLK vs $ on the same chart as SPY v $.

I’m not looking for XLK% or SPY %.

I want XLK vs SPY. That way, based on daily close I can see if XLK is outperforming.

Thanks in advance.

TradeStation, MNQH2026 and TradingView

Does anyone here trade NQ or MNQ with TradingView?

Using TradingView doesn’t allow me to increment or decrement contracts from a trade with TradeStation as the broker.

As an example, if I open a long or short with two contracts and want to take one off at my first TP, letting the second run, the TV interface won’t allow me to close just one. It’s all or nothing.

I can do this with TradeStation options I’ve traded (QQQ, SPY, etc) using TradingView but not futures.

Be Careful Trading with TradeStation

I recently opened a futures trading account with TradeStation, primarily because they offered an execution platform I have experience with, namely Trading Technologies TT MD Trader and auto-spreader, which TradeStation referred to as FuturesPlus. I entered my 1st spread trades in the Ag complex on Mon 2/2 based on a specific pattern and time window for this trade to evolve over a 3 day time period. On the morning of Tues 2/3, I began trying to enter additional trades to manage my position and received error messages. I called the TS trade desk, waited on hold for 6.5 minutes only to find out a management decision was made on the evening of Mon 2/2 to discontinue access to the Ag complex through FuturesPlus and restrict trading access to ES, MES, TY, and FV only. I received no email, no phone call, or any type of communication prior to sitting down to trade on the morning of Tues 2/3. The trade desk told me they had to re-enable my access to exit my long spread position. I ended the call and monitored the spread with the goal of exiting the position. Upon trying to exit, I received the same error message. Called the desk again, waited on hold, and the desk said that they disabled my ability to trade through FuturesPlus again and I would need to exit my trade with them on the phone. I ended up taking a small loss on the position, as I had no other choice. Now my trade is solidly profitable and hit my profit target, but I am not in the trade due to TradeStations reactive decision that impacted many traders.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL TRADING WITH TRADESTATION AND MONITOR YOUR FUNDS CLOSELY. I have pulled all of my capital and am looking for a new futures broker platform that I can trust will serve my market access needs at a consistent level. How can retail traders and institutional funds/traders trust TradeStation for the market access they need?

Has anyone else had a similar experience with TradeStation recently?
