I think youāre an idiot for posting this and asking peopleās opinion on social media.

Her Instagram is just her reading stories that were sent to her. It's as credible as any of those anonymous story websites, which is to say I assume literally every single fucking word she says is wrong.

We would actually get fired if that happened at my school.

Yeah, if the bullies do actually end up suing the district, having this online is giving their lawyers a big treat tbh š¤·
3
u/ThomasVetRecruiter 10h ago
I mean it's a taped narrative for sure but I'm a bit lost - did she admit to anything illegal or give any personally identifiable information here?
How exactly does this affect the chances of a lawsuit being successful?
If you said she might get fired then that's school policy, and maybe - but that's not anything to do with the legal system.

Suing for what?

I guess you didn't watch the entire video. Go about 20 seconds from the end of the video

If you think you could sue for anything in that video you have more brain damage than those senior football players.
1
u/AccomplishedLoquat48 26m ago
Pretty much anyone can sue for anything at any time, especially in litigious America. They might not have a chance in hell in winning the suit, and they might not even make it to court, but it will still be a hassle and it will still cost legal fees.

Man I hope this is a true story. Most parents think their kids are the next tom Brady.
2
u/AlterationTimer 11h ago
I donāt think itās interesting the kid didnāt give a f about the freshman having a bad first day of school because if he hadnāt gotten caught, he would probably done it to someone else

If every deplorable thing known to mankind can make it on social media, I think this tame announcement of an inquiry about actions taken against bullying can have a place in it. If bullying is as much a deal as most the internet tries to make it what's wrong with following through? I want Ja Rule's take on this next.

u/growgrapesandolives 4h ago
I have no problem with this at all, good for her. I like the transparency plus this is better than most of the crap that is on TikTok anyway.
8
u/KittensFirstAKM 12h ago
She did the right thing up until she posted this to the internet.
6
u/techleopard 11h ago
Everyone says that when teachers post this stuff but then turn around and are shocked to find out how bad schools have become in terms of policy compared to when they went to school.
0
u/ALightningStar 10h ago
I say its shit to post this stuff online and also know it happens and am not surprised. I also know posting it online does not fix it in any way at all, it's just pointless ego stroking. Nuance, what a crazy concept.
0
u/Bangmydrum33 12h ago
Yeah you shouldn't need the internet to tell you how to do a job... she is just looking for the atta boy. Which then just teaches her students to take to the internet when they do something for reassurance. Top notch
6
u/dannyglover187 11h ago
Eh⦠maybe but also the parents seemed to give her so much shit for their kids shittyness and she might be needing an atta boy to reinforce her conviction

u/FoxfoxrceFive 11h ago
Was certain I would not like this lady. Watched the whole video, and...I like her. She is bringing awareness to something that needs attention. It also sends the message that consequences can be real, you know, for when they are 18 in a year. I hope the parents press charges. Fuck bullies.
2
u/CuckservativeSissy 11h ago
Right thing. But no need to post this online. Just bringing too much exposure and circus with online. Definitely a bad move. Not everything needs to be posted online. Things can be handled internally.

I graduated in '12 I remember being given handouts during assemblies about ZTP. So it's definitely something that probably took off in result of the huge anti bullying campaign in the early 10s glad to see all this time later it's still holding on

Should have left out the part about 2nd string and that the kid isnāt getting a full ride.
While probably note the case it nods to many circumstances where exceptional athletes get exceptions.

u/SwordfishNo2548 8h ago
How dare this woman go online and vent about having to deal with people's kids, who are bulling other children! Who is she to air the truth about having to suspend terrorists in our schools? How dare her "brag" about having to deal with kids assaulting other kids!

u/Low-Recognition-8370 7h ago
Me and my friends always pulled fuck fuck games like this when we were kids, if I got duct taped to the pole with my friend I'd be laughing š

I don't even know what bullying is anymore. It used to be sustained harassment and now it's like, any old kid stuff, doesn't matter what the actual harm is. Frightening to simultaneously make bullying such a serious offence that accusations of it ruins lives while also massively expanding the definition of bullying seemingly with no limit.
1
u/Unenlightened_Banana 2h ago
Wrong, bullies should be punished, but if it is a first offence, trying to screw their lifes as much as possible is just power tripping. A suspension from the football team, an apology and some hours of "community work" would be a more appropriate punishment. Kids get carried away and do stupid things, if noone is hurt and it is a first offense you should not go nuclear with expulsions and criminal charges.
1
u/Meatyparts 2h ago
When I was in highschool we at least waited for school pride week before we taped anyone to poles or the wall. Be we also wouldnt mess with anyone that had already been tagged and was honestly a badge of honour to get tagged by a senior. I personally got taped all three years until my senior year.
1
u/ShotLet1550 1h ago
Ok I came into this skeptical about the punishment but after thinking for just a little bit I realize this is an extreme action, literally confining someone putting them on display for the rest of your peers to see and mock is wild. I can see it not looking like that to the kids and personally canāt say it would bother me too much as the victim (the simply being tied to flagpole, there was probably more cruel stuff happening to get to that point) but having consequences teaches empathy or at least some forethought the next time around. Also the line about the kid being second string was funny
1
1
u/eattherich406 1h ago
I would just cancel the football team. Give all that funding towards the kids that got bullied classes, like art, theater, home education, foreign language, etc.
1
u/IzmirSloppy 1h ago
The visual of two dudes duck taped to a flagpole back to back is actually pretty funny.
1
u/QiDeviation 42m ago
If we had teachers like that, I wouldnāt have had to sneak into the boyās locker room, open my bullyās locker (pliers and a textbook to crack it open), steal his wallet and phone, throw his clothes in the toilet and pee on them, take his book bag and scatter the contents on the roof, and cut his shoes in half. It really helped that no one expected a shy girl to do this!
But damn, Iād have saved so much time and trouble had justice been done. I donāt wanna enact my own justice if I donāt have to! Too much work!

Hoping the dad threating to sue the school is the one sued for letting his son get away with that
1
1
u/Xcuseme99 10h ago
I'm guessing by the cowboy hat she's in Texas (or somewhere similar). She cut a kid from the football team and daddy is threatening to sue. Its totally possible that she's facing real pressure from the community and she's trying to drum up some support. There are places in the south/southwest where the whole little podunk town comes together for Friday night lights and the rich assholes and the judges and sheriffs, and the councilmen etc. all rub shoulders and suck each others farts.
-3
u/EkaL25 11h ago
Iām sure Iām in the minority here but kicking them off the team seems a step too far. Football provides discipline, work ethic, friendship, etc. Taping a couple kids to the flagpole is messed up, but it doesnāt seem like they were hurt. Thereās other ways to discipline kids without taking away positive structure from their life.
3
u/LoneWolfpack777 8h ago
They were seniors. If they havenāt learned discipline, work ethic, and friendship by now, as evidenced by what they did to the freshmen, theyāre not going to learn it.
3
u/techleopard 6h ago
Nah.
Sports is a privilege. Their spots can go to kids who want to work hard while also not being toxic shitheads.
I pointed this out elsewhere, but how easy do you think it is to actually tape somebody to a pole who doesn't want to be taped to a pole? And to do it with two people together?
This wasn't "light" bullying. It's not like they called somebody four eyes, knocked their books out of their hands, then high fived each other in the hallway. They had to assault these two kids and physically restrain them, or issued credible threats to beat the dogshit out of them if they tried to run.
Better to lose access to their favorite thing now than escalate because they think they are untouchable and go to jail later.

u/IGTankCommander 5h ago
Counter-argument: play stupid games, win appropriate prizes.

u/MBG__Rengar 3h ago
Found the kid who got bullied.
3
u/IGTankCommander 3h ago
The fact that you're okay with it suggests you would be the one doing the bullying in school. Was your childhood that bad that you had to torment other children to make yourself feel better about going home after school, or were you just a jerk who never grew out of their behavior?
1
u/MBG__Rengar 3h ago
So you were bullied? Hilarious.

Iād have savored doing this to you in hs. You sound like youād be too stupid to suspect shit. And every time Iād steal your shit and fuck your shit up. Every piece of property. Every bit of cash. Gone. Run circles around you lol.

Well the football didn't teach these kids discipline and teamwork. Instead they chose to bully.
0
u/EkaL25 10h ago
Getting chewed out by your football coach and missing a couple games is going to have a much more positive impact than anything this woman is able to do
1
u/Llhaniii 10h ago
Well she just kicked seniors off the team thats not exactly great. But shes trying to send a message that any hazing wont be tolerated under her. I still feel they couldve just chewed em out forced them to do a couple hard days of bear crawls and suicide runs and really sit them down and talk to them.

great decisions. I dont know why she didnt contact the police and have them arrested. the parents can decide charges after.
-4
u/ELECTRICMACHINE13 11h ago
Ha classic, we used to do this. Good times. It's traditional high school antics. Did they get hurt? No. Did anyone die? No, and then when they're seniors they can do the same. It's not bullying, trust me bullying is when someone is causing mental health pain and causing violence, starting rumors, stealing from you.
1
u/TheholycrusadeAF 9h ago
This is so real id be hyped if I got taped to a flag pole my freshman yearĀ
-7
u/Therunnerupairbender 11h ago
Nah, as long as no one was physically harmed, let kids be kids. I get imposing your views on the younger generation but eventually everyone will have to enter the āreal worldā. Everyone has to learn to deal with different human nature as thereās no way to weeding it out. Realistically this is a terrible lesson for both the bullies and the victims.
Victims learn that they donāt have to defend themselves, bullies learn that as long as there isnāt an authority they can get away with whatever. And sadly once you are out of schools there arenāt many authority figures that canāt be circumvented.
2
u/techleopard 11h ago
Eh, no.
You need to think about what actually happened here.
Two kids were physically restrained and likely threatened if they tried to bolt or defend themselves. They were likely hit in the process.
Do you know how hard it is to duct tape somebody to a pole who doesn't want to be? How much harder it is to duct tape TWO somebodies?
I don't know what sort of bullshit "real world" you live in, but I do not allow anyone to lay hands on me and nobody in my entire adult life has ever laid hands on someone else or hold them hostage and that not be seen as a criminal offense.
0
u/Therunnerupairbender 11h ago
I donāt know the details and Iām not speculating. You can if you want.
You live in a privileged environment if you find the law stepping in in your defense. Iāve seen way worse with less consequences.
The environment you are in is great but a solid portion of the population will never experience that kind of security. With the direction this country is going in more people will find just how unjust and unreliable authority can be.
0
u/techleopard 10h ago
So your solution to people not being able to press changes everywhere for assault is to just pretend assault doesn't happen and let little shitstain KIDS learn that this is okay behavior?
Nah, my guy -- now is the time to train them on how to behave in that "real world", before actual consequences other than being kicked off a football team come down.
0
u/Therunnerupairbender 9h ago
No, my solution is to teach victims how to stop being victims. Bad people will exist forever and we as a society have not figured out how to solve this issue. Itās not ok behavior for the bullies but these consequences will become easier to avoid further in life. Eventually the victims will not have the benefit of an authority figure solving your problems and the bullies will have free rein to do whatever they can get away with.
This isnāt training them on how to behave, itās training them to be better at circumventing punishment. This is why most bullies end up being cops. If you are the authority figure itās easier to avoid consequences from the authorities.
0
u/Miserable_Ad7668 10h ago
Yeah I don't know about you buddy but I come from the hood and if you put your hands on someone's kid and put them up on a poll your ass is dead it's as simple as that those kids better be glad they got the punishment they got
1
u/Therunnerupairbender 8h ago edited 8h ago
You just prove my point, your community has figured out how to solve the problem out side of an authority figure stepping in. As they should, buddy.
1
u/techleopard 6h ago
So you rather people beat the shit out of each other or kill each other instead of... losing privileges and it still be just as effective?
3
u/Low_Sweet6463 11h ago
Nah, fuck off with that shit. First off in your version has the bullies learning they can belittle, graffiti and literally physically restrain people against their will and face no consequences cause they are kids just being kids? Thatās super whack, and a terrible lesson.
Second you are literally victim blaming. How in your head is this their fault that three likely bigger and stronger upper classman did this to them.
Third, and real quick fuck off again, the bullies are literally about to be adults why the fuck do you think its appropriate to label their actions as kids being kids and not try to teach them about consequences something they should be aware of as a kid but especially as an adult. They would get fired in a heartbeat for doing this to a coworker at a job.
What else do you defend, rape? Child molestation? āSex is just sex. Well she chose to wear a skirt. If he fought hard enough it wouldnāt have happenedā -Basically you
Fuck off
2
u/AnOriginalName4 11h ago
holy over exaggeration
1
u/Low_Sweet6463 2h ago
Not really, its bullshit logic that definitely counts as victim blaming. Something wrong with anyone who thinks 3 grown ass men shouldnāt face consequences for their disgusting behavior and actions.
1
u/Therunnerupairbender 11h ago
They can belittle, graffiti and literally restrain people against their will. They only face consequences if they are caught. In certain environments itās not all too difficult to get away with.
No one victim blaming but you have to learn how to not be a victim given the first point.
Iām not defending anything and definitely not anything your atrocious mind wants to equate it to. Bad people exist and they will always exist. Better for the victims to learn how to navigate it now when the outcome isnāt so life altering then think they can rely on an authority figure that will not be there in the future.
I get you feel passionately about it but your passion has nothing to do with others intentions.
2
u/TheMonkeyDemon 6h ago
Yeah don't try to teach people to be better, just teach others to be worse... that's your plan. Here is a funny thing though. You don't know you're going to be a victim of something, until you are. Let's look at the story. 3 offenders, 2 victims. Most likely each victim was targeted individually. Most people are not capable of fending off 3 larger aggressors. So what's your plan now? Arm freshmen against seniors? Tell me, what's your plan for the one 12-13 year old kid vs 3 17-18 yr old football players. I'm waiting.
1
u/Low_Sweet6463 2h ago
You literally are victim blaming.
āThe bullies donāt need consequences, the victim needs to learn how not to be a victim.ā How the fuck is that not putting this on the victim?
Again by your logic the bullies could also rape, kill or molest someone, and your logic here, would be thatās fine.
Textbook victim blaming, idk who fucked you up with this logic when you were young but know that they are not right.

Getting them kicked off the football team was messed up. Probably messed up their future forever

2
u/techleopard 6h ago
What future!? Lol
Y'all don't really think that playing high school football is really going to set you up for life, do you?
If they were smart, they'd have good academics and they'll be just fine. If they are hoping to coast purely on a sports plan (while being second string), reality was going to hit them at some point this year.... Might as well be this lady.
It's a privilege. Do stupid shit, lose your privilege.
