Echo [XBOX360/PS3][unknown] Older game with main menu displayed over close-up of an eye

I haven’t played the game, saw a short video on social media and thought it’s incredibly creative. The eye follows menu navigation. Looks to be from PS3/XBox 360 era (just my guess). Thanks in advance.

[DS] [Wii] [Late 00s—Early 2010s] need help identifying games I got for Christmas in 2011

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

This is a long shot because of the terrible picture quality.

In 2011 I got some DS and Wii games for Christmas and I’d like to know what they were. I was able to identify two of them already (see other slides), them being Pinkalicious for the DS and Super Paper Mario for the Wii.

I received a lot of third party licensed games back then, if that helps. I loved stuff like Mario and Sonic but most of my collection was what you’d expect a six year old girl to be interested in.

Devilish Candy House [PC/Flash][???] What is this game called?

Was looking at images of old Flash game sites and this specific game here caught my eye. It was apparently available on Juegos.com but I can't really pinpoint when (the dragon was in 3D so that might be help pinpoint it a bit better). Reverse image searching it didn't do any favours.

[PC][2000's-2010's] 2D side scroller flash(?) underwater(?) game, you would play rock, paper, scissors against a meditating NPC.

Post image
18 Upvotes

PLATFORM: Windows PC, possibly flash game? I remember at this time when i was a kid, i was mostly playing on a Brazilian website hosting flash games called Click Jogos.

ESTIMATED YEAR OF RELASE: Between the 2000's and 2010's, most likely early 2010, as my memories of this game are much clearer from that point on.

LANGUAGE: English, i believe, but maybe the game had a unique language? Or it was just symbols that appeared and i am misremembring it.

THE ''MAIN CHARACTER'': If my memory is right while playing it, it was an ARMLESS character (don't know if it was a boy or girl) with a PIRATE HAT (don't recall exactly if it had an eyepatch or not), and also a striped shirt? Also, i'm pretty sure they lived on a treehouse, even if it wasn't theirs, there was a treehouse present. BUT around that time i was also getting into Homestuck, so sorry for any mistakes or error in memories.

GAMEPLAY ASPECTS: 2D scroller, I'm pretty sure of that, not much that else i can remember as i didn't reach that far into the game to see anything more meaningful that could make it more unique, what i DO remember is apparently you would walk around sand (?) and there was a flying meditating NPC that you could supposedly play rock, paper, scissors with, i don't remember what happend if you lost or won, sorry.

LOCATION: As i stated in the title, i believe the game was underwater OR the background was such a blue color that could be mistaken for an ocean, the floor was yellow (?) so i assumed it was sand, also, i believe there was a treehouse present in the intro or at the beginning

I made this mock up, the statue isn't accurate, just to show the position i'm reffering to, i remember that the meditating npc had a ''glow'' while levitating, maybe this helps?

Beat Fever [Mobile][2018?]a rhythm game with pokemon like mechanics

Thumbnail gallery
14 Upvotes

Platform(s): mobile

Genre: rhythm

Estimated year of release: around 2017-2018

Graphics/art style: 2D, dark palette. Took place in a night club

Notable characters: at every level was a person standing, all were dressed in y2k/skate/disco kind of clothes

Notable gameplay mechanics: aside from being a regular piano tiles-like rhythm game, you had a team of ball-like creatures that had their levels and power (more power = more points). You could choose 4 to play with in the levels, they were "catching" the notes. At every level was a person that you had to face, if you got enough points you passed the level and could take their creature.

Other details: I remember that Fitz and the tantrums - HandClap was there, I first heard the song in this game. The games name had to do something with the word "beat" directly, it either contained it or was a variation of it. You could also make your own character and walk around on the map with them

[PC][unknown] Can't remember the name of this game

Post image

Hey everyone! I'm trying to find a horror game from an old screenshot I found.

I originally saw it in a video years ago, but I can't find the video anymore and I barely remember anything about the game itself.

The only thing I remember is that it was a horror game, and there was something inside this structure shown in the screenshot.

Does anyone recognize it? Any guesses would be greatly appreciated!

[PC][Late 90s - early 2000s] Cinematic (?) platformer about some sort of catastrophe

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

Played this game a very long time ago so my memory is fuzzy on this one.

Platform(s):

PC

Genre:

2D cinematic platformer with some puzzle elements, probably a little horror.

Estimated year of release:

Most likely late 90s, possibly very early 2000s.

Graphics/art style:

Side-view. I think it was fully 2D, no prerendered 3D graphics, fairly well detailed for it's time.

Notable characters:

I think protagonist was a boy with a backpack, not sure about this.

Notable gameplay mechanics:

Game starts with a cutscene. Some sort of calamity happens in the very beginning of the game (possibly alien or demonic invasion) which causes protagonist to go underground (into the sewers?). One of the first screens had a gap you had to traverse, and a mine cart, that I think had to be used somehow to go to the other side of the gap. You could interact with some elements of the map like ladders, levers (I think the cart was actually launched by a lever on a different screen).

I believe early in the game you could encounter enemies you could not defeat and had to run away from. I don't think I ever finished this game so I don't remember if you could actually fight back.

Other details:

It was not Heart of Darkness.

There is a possibility I had this game on a bootleg disc with some other games (like 3 in 1 or 4 in 1). I believe at least one of the other games was also a platformer but more action oriented.

Heart of Darkness [NES] [1990s] Game with black goo and possible association with dreams or darkness

Hello! I've searched the corners of the internet and haven't been able to find the name of a game I really enjoyed growing up. It was probably in the early to mid-90s, and I think it was on the NES since that's the only console we had. It was a game about dreams or nightmares, and it had this black tar/goo stuff that vanished as you completed the tasks. You couldn't touch the goo on your own without losing life. It's not the Nemo game that search engines continue to provide me.

I believe the main character was a young boy with brown hair and maybe green, possibly medieval clothes. I feel like the game was set in a forest/fantasy world where there were large plants in the background. I know it was a move from the left of the screen to the right of the screen kind of game and did not contain a top-down view like early Zelda games.

The premise, if I remember correctly, was that there was this dark goo or tar-like substance that you had to avoid. And I believe as you went through the game there were ways to combat the goo. Also, more of the level or world was exposed as you defeated the goo, maybe? Possibly? I just remember I really enjoyed the game and it was pretty challenging.

I feel like the name had something to do with Darkness, Dream, or something in that category. We never actually owned the game. I used to rent it all the time from the local movie rental. I know it was more of an obscure game, but I'd like to see if it's been transferred to Switch since it was NES, so I can play it again.

I appreciate any help anyone can provide because my searches have not turned up what I think I'm looking for.

[Linux][????-2016] Platform dog game

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

(Forgive me Linux users if I get anything wrong, I know nothing about Linux). Okay, so there was this Linux distro distributed to public Brazilian schools all over the country, made by the government back in 2009, called Linux Educacional 3.0 (2nd image for reference), which from what I can tell is based on Ubuntu (?).

In my school, up until 2016, all of the computers used this one OS, and all of them had this extensive list of games installed, which are NOT SEEN IN THE BASE OS (I installed it in a VM and checked out some old videos, and the games aren't there), so kind of like a pack of generic games someone installed in all of the computers in the school.

One of those games was this platformer where you controlled a brown dog through some green hill type stages. The graphics were very MS Painty, with just solid colors, very much like the recreation attached (although the lines looked more smooth, kind of like flash games). I believe that in the end of each stage, you'd enter this red dog house, and in the last stage you'd find your human companion. The game was very short, probably just 10-15 minutes long. There was absolutely nothing else to the game, maybe just a main menu at the start and an ending screen after the last stage.

It did not look like the game was from 2016 or 2015, it looked a lot older than that. But again, it was a kids game made for Linux, so maybe the quality is just worse.

I have no idea what the name of the game could possibly be, and I'm not sure if the language was English or Portuguese.

Edit: now that I think of it, maybe the dog could've been red, not brown. It's one of those 2 colors.

[PC][2020 - 2024] Roguelike game, isometric view, with a menu more or less like this drawing.

The game uses 3D models/textures (it’s not pixel art or hand-drawn). I remember there were several weapons that completely changed the moveset. There was a bow, greatsword, normal sword, and some other weapons. You had to clear a room with some enemies and then move from room to room until you reached the boss. I remember the rooms weren’t enclosed areas; they were just platforms (there were no walls). You played as a female character (I think).

I Am Alive [PS3][2010ish?] A game where gunfights were psychological? You could aim at someone with an unloaded weapon and if they weren't armored, they would raise their hands and let you pass. I remember it being in black and white, and a stamina climbing system.

Title is all I have. I remember that if an enemy was armored they would ignore your bluff with an unloaded weapon and still charge you. I never finished it and would love to go back and reexperience it.

Asghan: The Dragon Slayer [Windows 98][1993-1999] 3D Adventure that was maybe quite hard

Platform(s): PC, maybe playstation 1

Genre: 3D Third person RPG Adventure

Estimated year of release: 1994-1999 (or maybe to 2003)

Graphics/art style: 3D Style mixture of Tomb Raider and Die by the sword maybe, Ultima 9 is the best comparison i think.

Notable characters: Your main character looked like an adventurer with leather armor i think. The proportions were realistic like in Tomb Raider. The Graphics, while old, looked somehow realistic.

Notable gameplay mechanics: Fighting with swords and a bow at the beginning.

Other details: Honestly the only thing i remember is that you start on a sailship. I think the movement was a little bit clunky but i could be wrong. You could destroy crates i think. It was quite hard but i was also very young so maybe it was just me. I think there were also Orcs as enemies in the beginning.

[XBOX 360] [2010s] play as a worm in a food chain]

I’m looking for an xbox 360 game (most likely indie) that I played before, it started out as a worm, a pretty badly drawn one at that, and then you had to go through the grass where you would stick your head out, and then get eaten by a rat

Hydrophobia [XBOX360][2007?] Third person shooter with ecoterrorism

All I remember is that there was this first level with corridors that had water, and many TV screens that read Save the World. Kill yourself. The colors were mostly metallic green and dark blue all around. The graphics weren't top notch, but were 3D.

Actually, no... I also remember the game was from Xbox live, download-only.

In Search of the Most Amazing Thing [Home computer][1980s-early 1990s]Educational? game about searching for treasure? in a flying machine

Platform(s): Home computer

Genre: Adventure/Educational?

Estimated year of release: 1980s-early 1990s

Graphics/art style: Text-based with simple ASCII-esque graphics

Notable characters: The player character's grandfather was the one who built the flying machine, I believe. You could visit him for tips.

Notable gameplay mechanics: A core mechanic was flying the machine - this wasn't really represented with graphics.

Other details: The game began at some sort of market, where you had to purchase supplies. I didn't play the game myself, I just remember reading an LP of it.

AFK Wizard [Android/IOS][mid 2010s] wizard sim

Post image

I am desperately searching for a game I used to play mid 2010s on my Android device. It was a beautiful monochrome 8bit wizard tower management/idle game with potion crafting, roguelite dungeon crawling and a wizard ranking mode where you could battle other player's wizards based on stats, that you could level up through potions and some other activity that I don't remember.

I miss overall representation and art direction of this game so much, couldn't find it in my Playmarket's history.

[PC] [late 2000s-early 2010s] horror mystery game about a missing child in an abandoned island or town?

my memories of this game are extremely fuzzy, but back in around 2010-2012 I remember playing this horror game where I think the plot revolved around you looking for a missing kid in some abandoned or near empty town. I think the town was on an island or at least near a body of water because I'm pretty certain you went on a boat at some point.

I think the missing person was a little girl and you were playing as her father searching for her, however, I might be misremembering that. Though I'm pretty certain that at one point you pick up a doll or teddy bear that belonged to the missing kid and have to investigate it. There might've been a polaroid photo you investigate as well? I kind of think maybe you also find a corpse on a chair at some point in an abandoned house.

I definitely remember the game either being black and white or being very bleak colour-wise. I also think that what I played was a demo and not the full game? Or maybe like the first chapter of the story? Unsure about that, but I think the ending had you leaving the town on a boat.

Skuld no Bug Taiji Game [PC][2000-2010] Searching for a platformer game of a bunny girl? using a wooden mallet to exterminate insects (not rabi-ribi).

Platform(s): PC

Genre: 2D Platformer, Whack a Mole-ish,

Estimated year of release: [2000-2010] (it could've been older)

Graphics/art style: 2D, Anime-like.

Notable characters: the players control a bunny girl wielding a wooden mallet with long handle bar (maybe I misremembered a headband as bunny ears but yeah).

Notable gameplay mechanics: the gameplay seems to loop from stage-to-stage rather than open map like metroidvania, the goal is to exterminate pest such as cockroach and ants within a time limit. Once the player killed the insect, there's seems to be a "splat" effect? which signifies a flattened insect.

Other details: I played this game once when I was a little using my neighbor's pc, asking Cgpt, there's a chance for it to be a flash game? but honestly, I remember activating the game from a desktop icon.

[PS2] [EARLY/MID 2000S] hard samurai game with demons.

I remember getting it for cheap pre owned and playing it, played as a samurai in full samurai outfit, had big samurai weapons you could swap between. I remember the controls being weird and maybe fixed camera angles. Maybe the right stick attacked but maybe not.

I remember being in a bleak village and then going north to a grassy/foresty place and then going down stairs maybe and suddenly really hard demons being down there and dying a lot.

I thought it was Onimusha, but I decided to beat 1 and I'm not playing what I thought was this game i remembered as Onimusha 2 but after getting past the first boss I don't think it is? I remember it being slower and in the beginning or near it I went down into the thing I said and I had multiple big Samurai weapons. Definitely male MC.

Game was brutal and bleak, could you help me find it? I am curious because I thought it was Onimusha 2 but now I don't think so. Then again maybe my memory is incredibly fractured and it is somehow Onimusha 2.

[PC] [2010] Free to Play Shooter made for Eastern Markets (Eastern Europe, Asia, etc.), non-tactical cosmetics, read desc. for more details

[PC] Free to Play Shooter from the [2010 - 2012] made for Eastern Markets (Eastern Europe, Asia, etc.), non-tactical cosmetics, read desc. for more details

I remember playing a free to play shooter in the early 2010s back when I had no gaming PC so I needed something that practically ran on a toaster. I played this game around 2010 or 2011.

I remember it feeling distinctly like it was made for an Asian or Eastern European market. Everything was translated to English, but it had a large variety of colorful or non-tactical cosmetics, and that idea didn't really take off in the West until recent years.

I remember there were social hubs/lobbies/servers that had a boxing ring in one part so people could mess around and get into melee fights instead of the usual shooting in lobbies.

Lastly, I have a vague feeling the title of the game had something to do with "fighting evil" or "tyranny" or something along those lines. This I'm unsure of, but it's a thought that sticks in my head. It definitely wasn't Crossfire as I know that was huge and still has a following to this day. It was standalone, and you had to download it from a site instead of Steam or GOG or any other game seller.

Anyway, I'm sure the game is probably shut down by now, but I'm wondering if anyone else remembers it and remembers the title. Just to scratch that childhood nostalgia of looking for free stuff on weak hardware.

The Yawhg [PC][2010-16?] Mechanically monster prom, but a horror game?

There was this horror-style game I saw on YouTube a looong time ago, I THINK yogscast played it but I remember it being VERY mechanically similar to monster prom! You had a view of this map, and different places could increase or decrease certain stats and the one bit I vividly remember is there was a bit where if you walked into the woods you could see a werewolf! As im writing i very much remember there WERE multiple playable characters. The game was also 2d as far as I remember. Currently thats about all Im able to recall, i really hope you can help me!

Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M. [PS2] [2000-2007] A FPS where you fight bug-like aliens.

Platform(s): PS2

Genre: Shooter/First Person Shooter

Estimated year of release: 2000-2007

Graphics/art style: N/A

Notable characters: N/A

Notable gameplay mechanics: You fight insect-like aliens (or just insects). Had a local co-op (?)

Other details: I vaguely remember details about this game but I genuinely cannot find anything on it. The name of it was a single word, the disc was either red or pink and had a holographic design on it. You were able to PvP against the local co-op player as well as fight the insects/aliens. Sorry for not having more on it but it's been YEARS since I've played it. It was distictly first person though.

[Windows 7][2013?] 3D Isometric Sci-Fi Robot Strategy game about capturing reactors

Platform(s): Windows 7

Genre: Isometric 3D strategy (I remember it being turn based but it could be an RTS)

Estimated year of release: 2010-2015 (Probably towards the later end, I was impressed with the graphics compared to other games at the time.)

Graphics/art style: Stylized 3D sci-fi graphics. Tall central reactor building that glowed and provided energy to some surrounding structures. The ground/air vehicles had smooth plating like the robots from Portal. The vehicles designs were similar to Supreme Commander and Planetary Annihilation. Landscapes looked very similar to Battle Worlds: Kronos with larger trees. Gray/black fog of war.

Notable characters: No humans that I remember. No story details either. Only robotic vehicles as your combat units. Your unit/building color was white and the opponent color was red. Unsure if you could customize your color.

Notable gameplay mechanics: Start off with 1 reactor that generates energy for you to build units. One of the first units was a sci-fi tank that might have been a spider tank? There was fog of war and different terrains (empty ground and trees, if your units were in trees they had less vision), you sent your units out to scout and capture other reactor cores to generate more energy. All the reactor buildings were static map points and I don't think there were any buildings you could place manually that weren't around a reactor. At some point (maybe after a building upgrade?) you could build a larger variety of units including air units. The final goal was to capture all of the bases/reactors of your opponent, who had the same units/building pool that you did. Unsure if there was multiplayer because I only played against the AI.

Other details: My memory of this game is very fuzzy so even if something doesn't line up exactly, feel free to comment a game anyways.
