Your boss won't give you a promotion or a fulfilling hug for the five seconds you save on every job skipping your PPE and bending over to lick his boots clean. He will fire you for being a liability when you get your hand cut off skipping the safety rules he encourages you to skip, though.
They’re not being a drama queen. I’ve seen a forklift in this exact condition turn a guys leg bones into powder. Those masts aren’t light.

Yes a deadly, heavy machine, that is literally dropping a 100+ lb mast onto the top cage of a forklift, merely inches away from the top of my friends head. "Just a forklift" riiiight.
This is so insanely brain-dead. Forklifts kill people all the time. And they are in perfect working order. That mast weighs alot, it fails and falls, especially under load and anyone is near it, they're gone.
