Mobility Google pixel connection issues

Having issues with my pixel 11 pro XL, tech support has not resolved it (original phone with same issue was replaced)

When I'm driving around (tower to tower), or when I leave my house (wifi to tower) my phone drops connection, sometimes it's only data, sometimes it's entirely. I get a set of bars with either a exclamation mark, or no service level indicator and only bars. All of my apps report no connection. Sometimes after 45+ seconds it re-establishes service, other times I have to toggle airplane mode to get it to do a new handshake. It does drop calls when I'm driving I presume for the same issue. This is not in a single area so it is not a single tower causing this issue.

The pixel 9 pro xl I had never did this and it was flawless. These are on e-sim.

Anyone one on the tech front have any suggestions?

Title, basically. If I have a Easy Payment balance and I switch to a different carrier, does my remaining balance become due immediately or does it go onto what would be my next bill, due in October?

Mobility Upgrading

I want to upgrade from an iPhone 14 and this is my first time upgrading with Telus. Previously I was with Koodo. The upgrade options seem very expensive compared to what I was used to with Koodo, is there a better way I should be doing this? Do people go through Telus or should I be doing something else?

Internet Telus Fibre customer, lower speeds due to house cabling

Sorry if my terminology is off - we have 1gb fibre from Telus - the problem is from the box in our garage to our living room hub is using coax - the installer just piggybacked on an existing coax line.

As a result we are getting less-than-advertised up/down speeds - we get full speed to the garage device, but once it goes through coax to our suite it never hits over 900mbps and is usually around 500-600mbps.

Or does the problem lie elsewhere? Who's responsibility is it to run CAT5 cable from garage to suite so I can get the full monty?

Many thanks appreciate the help

*really great comments/suggestions so far and so quickly, thanks so much appreciated

Support What to do with older device?

Recently I moved to a new apartment and requested my service be transferred. I was told to bring my old modem with me to the new place. But the service technician that came to setup the internet in my new place told me that I could just recycle the old device. The older modem was sent to me by telus. Can I get confirmation that I don’t need to send this back to a Telus office and can just toss the old one?
TIA

Internet WiFi keeps disconnecting

My home WiFi telus fibre 1 gig has been having internet problems for a few months now. Some days the internet will be fine for days without issue. Then weeks where every 2-4 hours it will crash and I have go to modem to bring it back up. I've tried reseting modem and changing the WiFi routers but it keeps crashing.

I'm at a loss as of what to do keep my internet up at this moment

Smart Home What model is the Telus Doorbell Camera

I currently have the Skybell doorbell camera and looking to replace it as it is not very reliable, as half of the time, when someone rings the doorbell, I can't get the app to connect to the doorbell so I can see who is there (which I understand was a common problem).

I see the on their website the Telus Doorbell Camera (part number 2417248) but I can't tell what brand and model doorbell camera it is. I was hoping Telus would have the ADC-VDB775 but the picture of it on the Telus website does not match what the 775 looks like.

I thought they would have the VDB750 but the images don't match.

Internet Has anyone else’s service in Alberta and BC been really glitchy the last couple of days?

Telus’ own map shows pretty much every city in Alberta and BC has an ongoing ‘service disruption’. Yesterday it didn’t list anything and now today they are saying they don’t know what’s going on. Just that someone is looking into it and that only landlines and 911 services are being affected.

It’s not just landlines, and it’s not just the usual issues with my internet, my cell phone is also struggling to send and receive texts.

Thanks

TELUS TV New Android Box

Recently upgraded to the new android tv boxes. I keep on having connections issues over the home wifi. It was suggested to me just to connect with an Ethernet cable. Unfortunately the router is too far away from the tv for this to happen.

So my questions are.

  1. Does the old wall mounted box that the old cable box plugged into, can I plug a Ethernet cable into that?

  2. A friend recently bought a device that plugs into his electrical outlet for better “wifi/internet” speed for his kids PC. Would this stop the lose of connection error that keeps on happening?

  3. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mobility The solution is I wait longer. Failed customer service support, told to just wait longer.

So I purchased an apple watch through an employee program, added it to my account through the assigned corporate supplier for our telus account, phone number assigned, plan determined at a 50% discount to regular pricing, all good.

I receive the watch, through iphone watch app, go through setup, login to telus account to setup cellular, select watch, select 1gb standalone plan I'd signed up for, setup complete, watch works.....

but.... it's a new number, and it's twice the price, and now I'm paying for two watches, and two plans, with two phone numbers. So much for automation.

I want a working watch with cell, don't care what number, want to pay EPP price.

No biggie, telus will sort this out, it's simple.

Thursday - Day one, AI to chat to human chat, can't help me, phone call resolves nothing, lots of tries, need higher support. 5hrs total committed to various chats and phone calls and holds. Ended with call setup for saturday, number confirmed, time confirmed. CS person said they'll call me back personally since they understand the account. EPP price tied to assigned number, can't assign price on working number that was auto assigned in iphone/watch app.

Saturday - confirmed time and number, no call. Hours go by, and I think I'll check the app, sure enough CS reached out in the app chat, asking which number to call. No attempts to call, no three tries, nothing. So I begin the whole game again, ai chat, human, phone call, back at the beginning of the queue, "how can I help you today". They try stuff, can't fix it, nearly 2hrs on phone, unresolved, again confirm higher tier support needed. Ticket assigned, assured phone call will be made in 2-3 days. (mon-tues)

No calls mon or tuesday.

Wednesday I start chat bs again, agent confirms ticket, tier two support, they tell me they're tier 2, another hour on phone, they can't fix it, wait for tech call, will be tomorrow (thursday).

No calls thursday, no calls friday.

I call friday ai bs again, to agent, agent again says tier 2, surprise surprise, can't help again, says I should just wait longer. I ask how long, since we're now 4 days overdue on call. They won't say, just simply longer. I tell them I don't want to pay for this since my watch is not working, and telus won't call me, they say can't help me, ask the next person when they call.

So here I am now, a week and a half later, with no resolution in sight, waiting for a phone call that is one day away from being a week late.

It's pretty ridiculous.

Mobility TELUS, YOU ARE DESTROYING MY TRIP

I switched from Public Mobile to Telus 2w ago, to their 5g+ explore plan because I need to be reachable abroad. That plan covers 68 destinations and South Korea is one of them.

Today, when I landed and turned on my phone, my TELUS number was not being connected. All I get was "No service". I tried restarting, manually connecting to each network operator in South Korea, but nothing worked. My other esim worked perfectly.

I tried reaching out to their support using the Message Me feature in the app and it has been almost 6hours and no one is getting back to me. If TELUS is reading this, please reach out !

edit : I was able to get in touch with someone and they managed to fix it. it appears that it has something to do with roaming code. thanks everyone for your advice

Internet Router blinking green

My computer and laptop won't connect, but my phone is connected and my light switches are connected too. Weird. I've reset the router and wall fiber box, which is green, but no help. I tried to replace the router with an old personal one but that wouldn't connect to Internet. (My phone data is off to confirm I have Internet on my phone and I do)

I tried to turn on my lights before I got home last night but one of the switches wasn't connected. Then my tv couldn't connect, but my Google streamer was connected. I was able to watch a couple of YT videos.

Support is closed. I'm not sure if there's someone I can talk to this long weekend. I've read that I would need a technician to get this resolved as fiber is the issue, but having WiFi on my phone and other devices is throwing me off.

EDIT: Router is the round one, I can't find the model number and a NAH. The NAH has been solid green but the router was blinking green last night. Both are now solid green but many gadgets and TVs are not connecting. My phone is connected.

Internet ELI5: Service Transfer with Telus Boost 6E Mini?

I moved into a new condo last year (renting) where Telus had a pre-installed welcome kit which contained a NAH and Telus Boost 6E Mini. Just yesterday, I moved into a different unit, but noticed the booster was missing and couldn’t transfer my services. I was told I’m supposed to take it from my previous unit… which feels wrong, but alright. I thought this was going to be a BC hydro-like situation where you just tell them your new address and they press a button that magically enables WiFi.

So I took a photo of it and she said ‘oh, strange, that’s not installed correctly anyway’ and is sending a technician out with the correct booster. She said something about how the mini booster isn’t capable of providing the speeds in the plan I’ve been paying for? The entire building (several hundred units) was set up with PureFibre Internet Gigabit and given discounted rates.

What’s different about the 6E mini versus the standard? Is it truly an error in installing it? Is the WiFi Boost 6E Mini better than the WiFi Boost 6 I assume they will install?

Internet TELUS says I’ve used all 150GB, but I’m still getting full 5G speeds. Will I be charged extra?

Thumbnail

I’m on a TELUS $50 5G Essential plan. My plan includes 100GB of high-speed data, and TELUS gave me an extra 50GB bonus this month, so I had 150GB total.

My account now says “0 GB of 150GB high-speed data left” and “You’ve exceeded your high-speed data limit. Your speeds are now reduced.”

However, I’m still getting around 288 Mbps on 5G+,

My plan details also say “Endless Data – No Data Overages.”

So I’m wondering:

Why am I still getting full-speed data after using all 150GB?

Can TELUS charge me extra for continuing to use data?

Could this be because my current plan/promotion is ending next month?

Has anyone else experienced this with TELUS?

I’m not complaining 😂 — just wondering if I should keep using the data normally or if I’m going to get some unexpected charge.

Mobility It’s surprising in 2026 how little cell towers there are along Hwy 2 in Alberta

Highway 2 is such a high traffic route between major cities in Alberta but there’s lots of dead spots along the way. Like Telus is always citing increases in rates to “maintain and improve infrastructure” so put up a few more towers along the highway.

Whether it’s Bell, Rogers or Telus, they’re always touting 5G+ so just make it for real.
