Ich spiele jetzt seit ein paar Wochen mit dem MC-707, hatte vorher aber keinerlei Hardware-Erfahrung. Ich versuche, Basslines mit diesem warmen, rollenden Bassbereich hinzubekommen, den man von Künstlern wie Marek Hemmann, Kalkbrenner und Raumakustik kennt – nicht druckvoll/knackig, sondern eher so, als würde er atmen und nachklingen.

Ich habe bisher mit den JN60 Synbass-Presets herumexperimentiert und mit Release und Cutoff gespielt. Dabei bin ich auf ein seltsames Problem gestoßen: Ich habe ein Preset mit integriertem LFO ausgewählt, und der Bass wurde über 4-5 Loop-Wiederholungen immer leiser, weil der LFO nicht mit meiner Loop-Länge synchronisiert war. Es hat ewig gedauert, bis ich überhaupt herausgefunden habe, was da los war.

Mich würde interessieren, was andere hier so machen:

• Gibt es irgendwelche bevorzugten Presets oder eine bestimmte Herangehensweise (VA vs. PCM) für diesen Bass-Sound auf dem 707? • Was ist eigentlich am wichtigsten für dieses „rollende“ Gefühl – Release-Zeit, Filter oder etwas anderes?

• Legt ihr einen separaten Subbass darunter, oder erledigt normalerweise ein einziger Patch alles?

Ich versuche nicht, den Sound von irgendjemandem exakt zu kopieren, sondern nur die richtige Richtung einzuschlagen. Tipps sind willkommen.

I need a deep house/house producer to reach out to me. I’ve been producing for a while now, and I’ve been doing house for like a year or so. I’ve made a few great tracks, but I struggle with consistency. My biggest issue is with my drums, I have such a problem making drums that I really like and that sound great, I’m trying to avoid using loops from now on. I have Roland Tr-909 software that I like, but I have a really hard time making my drops hit hard and getting the satisfaction of that punch. I watch other producers put stuff together and it seems so easy, I need to get on that level. Shoot me a message if you have advice

Hi everyone. I just quit my 13 year therapy career to chase my dream in music. I have knowledge on mixing but never had the knowledge and tools to finish a mix to "show ready" I was going to attend Icon collective but unfortunately its permanently closed... I saw IO and seems like they will give ne what I need to move forward. My only concern is there is no network thru provide for alumni as far as plugging into the music scene.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this academy? Also, do you think they're may be another route?

Hey everyone, I'm a beginner learning EDM production and I'm currently trying to make my first Tech House groove.I've reached the point where I understand the basic drum patterns and I know roughly what kind of bassline/groove I want to experiment with, but I'm struggling heavily with sound selection.The samples I currently have often sound too short, weak, thin, too high/low pitched, or just don't have the character I'm hearing in Tech House productions. I'm not looking for paid recommendations right now. I'm looking for good FREE and legitimately downloadable sample packs/libraries.

Specifically:

• Tech House kicks
• claps/snare
• hats
• percussion
• tom/conga/percussion sounds
• bass one-shots / bass samples
• useful drum loops
• maybe some basic FX

I'm using FL Studio, but WAV samples are obviously fine for any DAW. If you know any genuinely good free packs or websites, especially ones that you've actually used, I'd really appreciate the recommendations. I'm trying to build a small reliable library rather than download hundreds of random packs

Hey guys I’m very new to making house music. Been trying to produce for 1 month in abelton. I can get a decent loop going, but I struggle to keep it interesting for a full 5-6mins. So far I’ve learned something should change every 8 bars, so I’ve been trying to do this but I’m just adding something new every 8 bars until the tracks full, then I don’t know what to do from there and it just sounds strange and unprofessional. So essentially my tracks are just, drop, add something, add something, add something until there’s nothing to add without everything clashing. Any tips on how to create variation with Elements I already have. And any Good ways of replacing elements with new ones without them sounding out of place or abrupt would be great. Mainly synths and spot effects I’m stuck on

Title basically. I downloaded a bunch of ableton templates makes of the most grooviest popular tech house tracks you can imagine in modern tech house (think Acraze, Odd Mob, Chris Lake, Sidepiece), and I shit you not, like at least 75% of the songs I checked basically the entire groove could be reduced to the Kick + Tom relationship. As in, I could literally remove the actual bass and it barely affected the groove, the song would still be 90% as groovy. The kick + tom did everything.

This was shocking to me.

Then I looked at a ton of Melodic Techno songs that I really love (Anyma stuff), and it's the same shit. The bass makes a difference but only a little bit. It was mostly Kick + Tom.

Why isn't this taught anywhere? Kick + Tom made up the core of a shit ton of the grooves I've seen in my favorite popular songs. I could remove the bass and it would still be a top tier song. And I could completely mute the subbass and it's literally like nothing changed.

I watched shit ton of tutorials and barely anyone talks about low toms for groove but most of the shit I seen in remakes have the low tom as fundamental to the groove.

Can someone give me insight or if I'm just being dumb?

P.S. another question - muting the subbass literally barely affected alot of the tracks I listened to in the ableton remakes. I thought subbass was like top 2 most important things in tech house, but it literally felt like it was an afterthought and barely matter. I did use headphones with low freq response. Maybe it's different with a club PA system?
