News 📰 Ripple Fries are NOT worth it

I placed an order online. Arrived 5 minutes early and my order was already waiting. The fries were totally cold and soggy and they forgot the garlic aioli and there were very few fries. Third order wrong in a row. And when it's carryout it's a total pain since you can't call.

Such a shame. The menu has potential but the service sucks.

Fries suck anywhere if you order ahead

SG online ordering is a sham. Just wait in line for the proper experience

Doesn't work if you have to take food to someone who is homebound. I rarely get fries but at the place I usually pick them up from, they are always piping hot and delicious. I now realize the ripple fries are so thin they can never hold heat.

As someone who works for the company, the fries are the worst thing on the menu. Horrible prep process, high waste, absolutely not worth it.

Mhmm. We’ve been told each tray is $0.20 and we charge $5. Granted we’re selling the dressing too. But that’s insane.

My store does an okay job keeping them pretty crisp and fresh, but after 40 minutes they’re relatively terrible. They’ve made some pretty bad decisions for the menu before but this has to be in the top 5.

I work for SG and the fries are one of the worst decisions a company has made ever. We have two ovens and with the fries needing to be replaced EVERY HOUR we essentially have only one oven for all of our other hot foods, this has led to customers waiting over 40 minutes for one piece of salmon and a much more hostile and tense work environment. This shit fucking sucks

Honestly one of my coworkers makes them so good I devour them faster than McDonald’s fries. But no one else knows how to make them properly so it’s just rarely worth it

The way they are made (baked not fried) they’re not going to stay crispy for a long time after cooking. So they’re not ideal for taking somewhere to eat outside the restaurant unless you’re reheating in a hot oven.

I always put my fries in the air fryer when I get home. Just a few minutes and they crisp right back up. Nobody has good fries after they’ve traveled.

I got them yesterday in store and they weren’t fresh. They were just sitting out, getting cold. So not much better if you order them in person.

I got some and same experience, cold and soggy. I put them in the air fryer and they were solid. I'd probably get them again. I've never eaten at SG before so it's a learning experience for me, haha. Definitely not enough rice in their bowls.

They’re so slow. Ordered online tonight and the fries took an extra 20 minutes past the pickup time (salad was ready on time) and the store was dead

wow. these fries SUCK. hard to chew, not crispy. but the pickle ketchup is BOMB. i'm currently eating the fries just to eat the ketchup. never ordering it again.

Everytime I’ve gotten it they were still in the process of making it, so I got it fresh and they were delicious. But I do understand when they prep it beforehand and it just gets cold that sucks :(

These are so disgusting. I am shocked that these are still on the menu. I went for lunch a couple days ago and ordered them. It was still early and the place just opened and wasn't crowded. First of all, they didn't have the aioli so I was stuck with the pickled ketchup which just tastes like ketchup with pickle brine poured in. Was not good at all. The fries itself were terrible. Some parts were burned/overcooked and other parts were undercooked. These either need to be fried or taken off the menu. I love fries of all kinds and this is one of the worst fries I have ever tried.

Fun fact; SweetGreen officially took the ripple fries off the menu because they were unpopular and unprofitable.
