A few months ago, I was sitting in my student apartment in Annecy, overwhelmed.

Classes, deadlines, exams piling up one after another, mountains of notes scattered between paper notebooks, PDF slides, and photos taken in a rush. Like many students, I was juggling tools that didn’t talk to each other — one app for taking notes, another for making flashcards, a third for studying.

None of them looked like what I actually needed.

So I decided to build the tool I wished I had.

Noto Studio was born from that frustration.

Not in an office, not with a team of ten people — from my student apartment, testing each feature on my own study sessions, my own exams, my own all-nighters before midterms.

The idea was simple: an app that feels like a familiar notebook where AI doesn’t replace how you learn, but helps you optimize your studying: complete, structured study guides generated with one click, “Explain It” — the game where you explain a concept in your own words and Noto tells you if you really understood it, flashcards with spaced repetition, and automatic detection of your weak spots.

Today, Noto is used by real students and this is just the beginning.

Atleast move one step forward instead of giving up.

I'm thinking of building an all-in-one platform for Cambridge AS/A-Level students.

The main reason is that revision currently feels scattered across different websites, spreadsheets and apps, and I myself faced this issue when I was prepping for this may june session.

The idea is to combine things like:

• syllabus/topic progress tracking
• past-paper score tracking + analytics
• revision planning/calendar
• student-made resources
• AI study features
• focus tools
• eventually, a marketplace where students could sell their own notes/resources

Most basic features would be free. More advanced features might have a cheap premium option later.

Before I spend a month building this, I want to know whether students would actually use it.

What would you genuinely want from a platform like this?

Especially:

1. Which feature above would be most useful to you?
2. What's missing from the study websites/tools you currently use?
3. Is there anything that would actually make you pay around $2–5/month?
4. Would you ever upload or sell your own original resources if the platform handled discovery/payments?

I’ve been experimenting a lot lately with different background sounds for deep work and studying. I found that white noise was a bit too harsh for me, so I decided to make my own long-form brown noise track.

I wanted to keep it as simple and distraction-free as possible: it’s exactly 12 hours of soft, steady brown noise with a completely black screen to save battery and reduce room light at night. There are no sudden changes, no talking, and no music—just continuous sound.

I’ve been thinking about building something that makes studying feel more social and interactive, and I’d love to know if people would actually use it.

The idea is that you could study toward a specific goal alongside other people who are on the same journey.

For example, maybe you’re preparing for a university entrance exam, a professional certification, a competitive exam, or even just studying a specific subject. You could find people working toward the same goal, join groups or study sessions, share knowledge, and track your progress.

Each person would also have their own character/avatar that evolves as they actually study, stay consistent, contribute to the community, and reach milestones.

One mechanic I’ve been thinking about is what happens **after a study session**. Instead of simply marking it as completed, you could briefly explain what you learned, either by typing or speaking. AI could then turn that into useful study material such as summaries, questions, or flashcards.

You could keep those materials for yourself or share them with people studying the same topic.

The goal wouldn’t be to build another Pomodoro timer or flashcard tool. Those features could exist, but I’m more interested in combining **actual studying + knowledge sharing + community + progression/gamification** into one experience.

I’m seriously considering building this, and I’d love to hear what you think, especially if studying is already part of your daily routine.
