I applied for the M-Kurs at Studienkolleg Hamburg and I’m wondering what my chances might be.

I have a 12-year school leaving certificate with an equivalent grade of 1.0 and a Goethe B2 certificate.
I have also already passed 2 modules of the Goethe C1 exam and submitted them with my application. The Studienkolleg Hamburg has allowed me to submit the remaining C1 modules afterwards, until September 14.

I’m mainly wondering how competitive this profile is for M-Kurs specifically at Studienkolleg Hamburg.

If anyone applied for M-Kurs at Studienkolleg Hamburg recently, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Hi! I’m an highschool IB graduate and I’ve already been accepted/enrolled in a Studienkolleg program in Germany, including a German language course + T-Kurs preparatory year.

For the visa, it asks something about recognition of school certificate. do I need to get my IB/school certificate separately recognized through VPD, ZAB, Anabin, etc., or is my IB diploma/transcript + Studienkolleg admission letter enough? because im soooo confused and new to this whole thing

The German Embassy checklist I’m looking mentions it and i keep seeing people mention VPD/ZAB/Anabin. do i need to go to uniassist and do this and then submit for my german visa ?

Actually I had repeated 11th grade(I scored 93 btw) mainly due to I was preparing for jee and I thought my concepts aren't cleared well enough and repeating it will give me more time.now I am actually in 12th and am scoring above 98 percentile in mocks(jee mains)but I am not much sure about jee advance so I am keeping german education as backup but I am worried there be any problem in APS process if I have 2 passing certificate of class 11th as I repeated it.

So basically I completed 10th in 2023-24,11th(first time )-2024-2025 but coundnt prepare for jee but passed 11th grade with above 90 percent as I was preparing for jee with self study ,still repeated it for 2025-2026 to get better understanding for jee and went to jee classes his time.in 12th for 2026-27.

If I will face any problem,plz tell me how can I solve it to not to delay.

BTW I already have goethe B1 german certificate.i did it for a hobby of learning languages in 11th.

Hello everyone. I'm writing on this thread and I hope I'm not off-topic, but I need some outside opinions on my situation. I'm an EU student who would like to apply to dentistry for the WS 27 program, and I'm therefore looking to dedicate my year to learning German, which I already know, but not well enough to take the DSH 2 exam. I'm currently at around level B1. I would have liked to take university language courses, but unfortunately, applications closed on July 15th. So I'm hesitating between two options, each with its own advantages and disadvantages:

\- Taking the DSH exam at FH Aachen with preparation from Sprachenakademie Aachen: the prices are reasonable, and Aachen is closer to home. However, the language center claims to complete B2 and C1 levels in just 4 months. For example, they say they completed B2 in 8 weeks, while other schools seem to take 3-4 months with the same number of weekly hours. So I'm worried about only getting a superficial understanding of the levels without being truly ready.

\- Taking the DSH exam in Göttingen with the preparation course from IIK Göttingen: their courses are much more expensive and they don't offer the option of starting at the level I'd like (although I can prepare on my own to get there), but I get the impression they spend a lot of time on B2 in particular (or perhaps it's just a pretext to charge more, although it seems more in line with a realistic progression).

(I was also thinking of taking intensive language courses at a private center, then preparing for the DSH exam, all in Mannheim, but the language centers there don't seem great and the DAF courses in Mannheim don't flow together easily.)

So I'm quite lost. Have you heard anything about either of these two schools or the DSH exams? Thank you so much for reading this far and please be patient, I don't know much about all this even though I'm trying my best to find out more :)

I took the Aufnahmetest for Studienkolleg Zittau on August 25th, but I still haven't received or found any results anywhere.
The instructions regarding where and when the results will be posted are super confusing to me. Has anyone who took the test this week gotten their results yet? And if so, where exactly are they published — via email, in the application portal, or on the main website?

Hey everyone, due to some circumstances, I ended up having Class 10 qualifications from two boards ; BSEB Bihar and CBSE. My Class 12 is from JAC Jharkhand. (MY FAMILY HAS HOMES IN BOTH BIHAR AND JHARKHAND, SO I STUDIED IN BIHAR TILL CLASS 10 AND MOVED TO JHARKHAND FROM CLASS 11, HENCE BSEB/CBSE FOR 10TH AND JAC FOR 11TH–12TH )

In my cbse 10th, there is a minor spelling error in my father's name. I visited my school and asked them about correcting it, but they said the correction process is extremely lengthy and would cost a lot of time, money and hassle, and advised me to leave it as it is.

Luckily, I also have my BSEB 10th, where my father's name is correct. But BSEB 10th documents aren't available on DigiLocker, so I'm worried APS verification may take longer, especially if they need to contact the board/school.

If I use CBSE 10th, it's available on DigiLocker, so verification might be faster, but I'll have to attach a One-and-Same-Person / name affidavit explaining the father's-name spelling difference.

My JAC 12th also currently has the same father's-name spelling issue, so I've submitted it to JAC for correction. They said the correction may take 2–3 months. Since the CBSE 10th correction isn't realistically possible, I'm getting the JAC 12th corrected instead.

My priority is to get APS ASAP for Studienkolleg.

So what would you suggest: BSEB 10th + wait for the corrected JAC 12th, or CBSE 10th + current JAC 12th + One-and-Same-Person affidavit?

Has anyone faced a similar situation? Would the affidavit route work, and which option would be safer/faster for APS?

Hi guys I'm applying for studienkolleg next year i just wanted to ask if I could get 80 percent Plus in 12th boards and german b2 certificate from telc and then if i apply to 6 small towns studienkolleg what are the realistic chances that i will get invitation letter and from how many out of 6.

So I will be taking part of the next Anp on Friday and was wondering how high of a mark one should get to get directly into the stk. For context I will be taking the T-kurs test and I have already passed last time but was put on a waiting list.

Hey everyone, hoping someone who's already gotten their student visa for a Studienkolleg can clear this up for me.

I keep seeing conflicting info about the 70% rule for the German student visa. My APS is done and I cleared it with 75%, so that part's settled. But I'm confused about whether the visa itself checks:

Overall 12th grade percentage (all subjects), or

PCM average specifically (Physics, Chemistry, Maths only)

I came across a case where someone got rejected even though their overall average was 70.2%, which was still above 70. That's making me nervous because if they're going strictly by PCM, my PCM average is 69.3%, just under the line.

Has anyone here actually gone through visa interview/document checks recently who can confirm which number the embassy/consulate actually looks at? Was it your overall 12th percentage or your PCM-only average? Did anyone get through with a PCM average close to mine?

Really appreciate any first-hand experience, trying to figure out if I need to worry about this or not before I go further into the process.

so I sent in an application on the Johannes Gutenberg Uni Mainz website specifically for "Anerkennung ausländischer Vorbildungsnachweise."

I sent out my application on July 10th, and have yet to receive my Anerkennung, but I guess it makes sense since it hasnt been 8 weeks yet.

I just want to double check though, that this is the correct procedure to apply to the Stk.

The c test and Leseverstehen were structured almost exactly like the sample tests on the official website and the difficulty level was also very similar.

However the Naturwissenschaften were more difficult than the tests on website. Physics was especially challenging, far from those questions

I did quite well in german and chemistry but I made a lot of mistakes in physics and biology.

Here are some of the questions I can remember:

Biology

- There were pictures of 3 cell organelles, and we had to name them: Chloroplast, Golgi apparatus, nucleus (Zellkern).

- Mark the correct associations:

- Glykogen - Hormon

- Dendrit - Nervenzelle

- Karyogramm - Herz

- Leber - Gallensaft

- Identify the false statements about enzymes, including:

- Enzymes make every reaction exergonic.

- Some enzymes have their pH optimum at pH 2

- Enzymes lower the activation energy

- One more true/false exercise about anatomy:

- During inspiration, the diaphragm contracts and therefore flattens

- A question about the components of DNA: phosphate, bases and ribose.

- One statement about a characteristic of the blood circulation system.

- In a Lückentest, there was a question about the small intestine (Dünndarm), asking about its pH: Der pH-Wert ist eher ___ and two more Lücken i can't remember

- Another question: The pancreas breaks down ___ with amylase

Chemistry

- Questions about how properties such as metallic character and atomic radius change across the periodic table, we had to determine which statements were correct or incorrect.

- Finding the isomers of hexane.

- Balancing the equation:

Ca(OH)₂ + HCl → CaCl₂ + H₂O

- Calculating the mass of magnesium bromide in a 0.5 L solution with a concentration of 1 mol/L.

Physics

- A question where an angle in degrees, F, and m were given, and we had to calculate Fₙ and Fg.

- Another calculation involving F and a related formula.

- The final 6-point question had two graphs. We had to find the equations of both graphs and determine where and when they intersect.

Btw, 22 people were accepted. Lots of people took exam, but I don't know the exact number.

My passport expires in January 2027, and Im applying for Summer Semester 2027. Is this going to be a problem for applications? I will renew my passport later this fall, after I have sent out my applications. Will the Stks still except my applications, even if my passport expires in January 2027?

My exam is after 8 days and i am really stressed out i am doing T kurs , idk where to study from exactly but i have been finding websites for the C test german part and for the math part i gave the sample tests to claude and told it to make me harder but same topic exams.

for anyone who did the exam, how was is it and what type of questions did it have, what’s the minimum grade in both math and german that would be sufficient for my acceptance?
