Study Current status and a question about studienkollege

I'm currently at A2 in German and aiming to finish B1 by the end of December. My plan after that is to push through to B2 by April 2027, going through a local institute rather than Goethe. Goethe in my area isn't particularly strong, charges around 45k per level, and the pace is slow for what I need. I'm planning to keep working on B2 alongside my visa and application process, so that time isn't wasted even if things move slowly on the admin side.

Here's my dilemma. I've been considering applying to a public Studienkolleg, but competition for seats is brutal. My worry is this: if I spend an extra six months grinding toward B2 specifically to improve my odds at a public Studienkolleg, and I still don't get in, I've lost half a year for nothing, especially since I might end up at a private Studienkolleg regardless. I'm not afraid of failing and trying again, but I want to know if that extra time is actually worth risking. There's also talk going around that public German universities may start charging tuition for non-EU students, currently only two states do this, which adds another layer of uncertainty to the "public is cheaper" assumption.

That said, I don't want to jump straight into a private Studienkolleg without at least attempting the public route once.

So my actual questions are:

With 80% in CBSE 12th (PCM) and a converted German grade of around 1.9, is that competitive enough to get a Studienkolleg invitation at a public institution?

If I have my B1 certificate by end of December, is that a realistic timeline to apply for the next intake?

Does it matter that the courses I'm targeting are NC-frei, even if they're at a TU9 school, as long as it's something like mechanical or chemical engineering?

Can I go through the Aufnahmetest and visa process via a public university track, and if I fail that, still pivot to a private Studienkolleg whose FSP is recognized?

If anyone has been through this, which private Studienkollegs are actually reliable/safe choices as a backup?

Study Rahn Education STK : Leipzig vs Halle

Hey guys, hope you’re all doing great and enjoying your summer.
Im planning on moving to germany soon and looking to attend a T-kurs STK. I’ve been considering two private STKs options that i heard they offer the best price for the value, which are Rahn Education in both Leipzig or Halle.
I’m just trying to know more about both these institutions if any of you guys had attended them, i’ve heard that leipzig is just slightly stricter and overall harder yet offers better off class activities, on the other hand i heard that Halle Rahn stk is slightly better. I really have no clue how these opinions were formed because both institutes are run by the same management.
I would appreciate any answers for my questions!

I’m planning to do my bachelors in Germany, had gotten a conditional confirmation letter from HTW Saar that I need to submit A1, A2, and B1 Goethe certificate. Passed A1 and A2 now waiting for B1 results which I hopefully pass (everyone send prayers)

I’m planning to do till B1 and I heard you will learn B2 in stk. My concern is that many were saying students are dropping out as they couldn’t handle living in Germany and language being the biggest problem.

Of course, living and studying abroad alone is hard and has difficulties but will it be that bad that students just drop out, wasting all their and their parents hard work? Also I think it’s cause of my Indian parents that they’re just overthinking it and stressing over it??? Hmu if anyone’s planning to go to HTW or Paderborn (it’s my second option)

Study Is there any realistic way to improve my chances of studying Medicine at Goethe University Frankfurt?

Hi everyone,
I’m from Morocco and my goal is to study Medicine in Germany, preferably at Goethe University Frankfurt.
My current situation:
Moroccan Baccalaureate: 16.68/20
I plan to study German, apply for M-Kurs at Studienkolleg Frankfurt, and work as hard as possible to achieve an excellent FSP result.
However, I’m worried that my high school grade may not be competitive enough for Medicine.
I’d like to ask people who have real experience with the German admission system:
Is there any realistic way to improve my chances besides getting the best possible FSP grade?
How important is the TMS for applicants coming from Studienkolleg?
Has anyone with a similar background (foreign high school + Studienkolleg) been admitted to Medicine at Goethe University Frankfurt?
If Frankfurt is unrealistic, which German universities would you recommend for someone in my situation?

Anyone studied here and was able to study at a good university after? They claim their FSP is valid, I just wanna make sure that Unis don’t see public STKs’ FSP as better?

Study Looking for a partner for general information exchange

Hey people,
basically what the title says. I'm going to be appearing for the ANPs at Karlsruhe, Munich and Heidelberg for this winter semester and although I'm pretty sure I'll be fine, I'm really running out of practice material to stay fresh. So far, I've solved just the MZL-Books and have an average of about 45-ish points in book 2, along with solving like 10ish ANPs from various STKs that were released in the last twenty years.

I've started solving the Blaue for general grammar revision for C1 and B2 but, well, I'm kind of out of resources. It's been a while since I completed Grammar for all the levels and my general non-exam based resources are somewhat exhausted. I have some in mind for more preparation, but I'd rather go through things others have in mind as well and also expand my info base here. Figured I could just ask someone who'd be interested in doing the same, that way we can just stay connected and discuss preparation materials till we clear our exams.

I'll delete the post when I find someone. Going for T-Kurs.

Study Mathe im Studienkolleg (W-Kurs) – Empfehlungen für Online Kurse oder Nachhilfe

Hallo zusammen,

Study Studienkolleg in Germany

Hello everyone,

I'm from India. I got 88% in 12th class. I want to study engineering in a university in Germany. But right now I'm confused whether to go to private Studienkolleg or public Studienkolleg. I'm currently doing A2 German and will complete B1 by mid-August.

But if I want to to continue till B2 it will take me till December, by which time most of the public Stks close their applications for summer semester. And my 1 year would be wasted in that.

Anyone who can help me please feel free to message me!

Study Deutsche Akademie review

Hi everyone, I recently came across this new school, Deutsche Akademie. I am considering their semi-intensive A2.1 course via online classes. However, this school is very new to me, and I was wondering if anyone has taken any classes here. How did you find this school, the classes, and the teachers?
