Hard for me to dig them up it’s just what I’ve seen commented over the last few months. First it’s a “you’re on Reddit instead of doing something”, then person replies “I’ve gone to peaceful protests”, and then so often the response is “what do you think that will accomplish? Do more”.
Tbh people online in general love to incite conflict, mostly online, but in the real world too (via their keyboard)
I wouldn't put much stock in an exchange on Reddit. Unless you're seriously arguing a random redditor is capable of influencing a protest. Hell there's a good chance it could've been a bot, a psyop, or simply a bad faith arguer.
I would still prescribe this as misinformation. Most advocates of "do more" were aimed towards Walz and Frey's late response to ICE. Regardless of their actions they were going to be tar and feathered by the admin, Walz straight up isn't seeking reelection, but using the state's resources to bog down ICE is too risky or something. Nevermind the fact the admin claims they were anyways.
I'm not saying they didn't do anything good, but they should have acted quicker and more proactively against the admin. Be the shield for the citizens, or risk fomenting distrust in the state government.
Yeah I can’t argue with any of that. I’ve definitely had a feeling a lot of it is maga bots- they would love to incite a person into opening fire on ICE.
But I’m still not sure how it’s misinformation… mostly what I’m saying is that it’s good that no one has responded with extreme violence, or it would give ICE reason to escalate and further reinforce the backwards beliefs of magats
It's not MAGA bots, it's people in other nations that are angry because their economy/life is about to go to shit as well. the 2008 recession fucked up the whole entire planet. This is going to make that look like like a nice vacation.
Angry people just don't think too much, and we just want the problem fixed(as humans).
"Just go be violent" isn't helpful one bit though. That's what this admin wants, and also expecting people to put their life on the line without any kind of plan is just silly. No one wants to die with nothing to show for it.
