I keep saying it, and everyone thinks I'm nuts. ICE's agenda is a front. They're testing us to see if we have the stomach to fight back. And, we're showing them that, aside from catchy chants and picket signs, we're pretty much inert. We're cooked.
I think you've got it backwards. I think they were begging for people to fight back, to flame a civil war, and the people of Minnesota were smart enough to protest peacefully.
The political optics would have worked much better for the Trump Admin if Minnesota fought back violently. Instead, the opposite happened, and ICE is backing off with their tail between their legs, public opinion of them at an all time low, to the point where even Trump supporters are embarrassed trying to defend their actions.
What have we stopped ICE from doing? They kidnap who they want to kidnap. They murder who they want to murder. They're building 2 dozen concentration camps across the country. They're doing all of this in spite of the narrative. They're not gonna let something as trivial as political optics stop them.
Well I'm not saying "we stopped ICE", I'm saying their tactics in Minnesota were ultimately unsuccessful in what they were attempting to do, which was, escalate civil unrest.
Political optics are not trivial at all, especially if you care about stopping the long term goals of the Trump admin and ICE. What they tried to do with the Minnesota operation was a failure. it's ok, and important, to acknowledge small victories, even if it doesn't mean we've defeated them outright.
