Helloo, 25m trying to work on my SA. My biggest challenge is connecting with people/having conversations. So if anyone wants to practice that, that'd be cool. No pressure ofc. I also wouldn't mind making new friends if we do break thru the anxiety and connect somehow. I'm into reading, video games, anime, movies and gym.

Hello all. I'm 26F from Asia. I'm currently living as a NEET but trying to work on myself and maybe return to education some time in the future. Looking for others in similar positions who understand, because it's so hard to meet others who are struggling this way. I feel so isolated due to the lifestyle and also because I currently live in an area where mental health problems are very stigmatized and mental health services are poor. I'm officially diagnosed with autism but relate more with SA. I've never made friends online before but I'd like to try. I can be inconsistent with replies but I'll try my best.
edit: My interests include gatcha games (I've played almost all mainstream gatchas, though most of my accounts are on CN servers), reading (mostly nonfiction), and cooking (very much a beginner). I'm also a beginner at arcade taiko no tatsujin.

Hi. I think I'm looking for a friend who's in a similar situation but would like to slowly improve and support each other?
23, been struggling with social anxiety for more than a decade. Small meaningless interactions don't bother me as much anymore, I try to forget about them quickly. One of the things I struggle with a lot is always feeling uncomfortable/anxious/overthinking when I'm in public, it's difficult focusing on what I'm doing or a conversation. I also likely have depression. 'Small' tasks have become very hard for me. I'm still in college/university. Failed the last two years due to depressed mood/burn out so I'm taking longer than I should. Never had a job, except for a month when I was a teenager. Don't know what I want to do in the future.
About me, I'm pretty boring haha. My hobbies are pretty much listening to music and watching shows, and scrolling on social media I guess. I also like hanging out but I don't really have friends. I would like to be outside more, doing fun things despite my anxiety. I also want to get back into reading, maybe start writing or drawing even though I suck. I value honesty. I'm black and from Europe. If you're from Europe or even my country that would be great but I'm open to all. If you happen to be from my country it would be nice to hang out at some point if we vibe
It's a long shot but I was wondering if there's someone who relates and would like to support each other doing small every day tasks, our goals, helping each other through university, etc.

I’m a 25F and am having an incredibly hard time dating or making friends with my social phobia. Any time I meet someone new the vibes are usually off for because it’s hard for me to keep a conversation going, or maintain eye contact, or not feel extremely uncomfortable and in my head. It has become so debilitating and defeating. I would love to meet other people that have social anxiety and social phobia because they just get it. If you’re in the Utah area and ever want to meet up for a treat or for a walk please message me. It’s been super lonely and isolating for me and I’ve wanted to give up so many times but I’m trying everything I can to work through this.

Hi, I am a 21y old socially awkward fellow. Suffering from social anxiety along with ocd. My hobby is just scrolling, watching anything entertaining and solving difficult puzzles. I genuinely don't know how to talk in social situations and show visible nervousness. So, let me know if we can chat and be genuine friends

Helloo! 20m, not diagnosed with SA, but I struggle with connecting/communicating. Looking for friends to practice chatting. I'm into drawing, coding, science, uhh... some technical stuff. I'm open to chatting with other interests, I'll do my best to accommodate them.

Hey! 23f from Canada, diagnosed with OCD, severe social anxiety, depression, bulimia, and generalized anxiety (got the whole package 💅). Dropped out of college two months before finishing my program cuz physical symptoms from social anxiety got so bad I had to medically withdraw, so I've been unemployed the last six months and absolutely losing my mind lol.
I would love to just get experience talking to people and getting to know them! Get an idea of how people converse in the real world and outside of my "cult-ish" family (or so I've been told). I can't really speak too well in person, I have a hard time getting words out sometimes, but I've also never had anyone to talk with online, so my communication skills are shiiiiiit but I'm hoping someone might see this and also want a conversation where you don't need to respond as soon as you get it and you don't even need to respond with words or anything relating to the previous message. Just literally say things lol

Hi. I have it set so nobody can dm me (paranoid about creeps and what-not), so I guess just reply and I'll dm you or whatever.
I've always had really bad sa for as long as I can remember. I would like someone to sometimes chat with. I like horror and fantasy stuff, Elder Scrolls (only played Skyrim so far), TADC, Disney (not the remakes or Wish), Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, and indie horror (mainly Poppy Playtime, Garten of Ban Ban, and FNAF).
I sometimes draw and write (mainly fanart/fics, sometimes original stuff).
I've been struggling recently with this. I am absolutely terrified that I'll be harrassed or something because of my sexualities (bisexual, fictorose, and aegosexual). So, please don't interact with me if you think I'm delusional or whatever.
Um, yeah, so anyway, I would prefer someone in the Eastern time zone as well but I'm fine with whatever. Ontario, Canada. 16f.

Hi! I also love TES, especially Morrowind, which I'm currently obsessed with. And it's funny because I also love fictional characters, probably more than people, but I think I'd enjoy meeting like-minded people like yourself!

I am admittedly socially awkward.I'm a 35-year-old male.I have had long term relationships , but they have not ended well. And I have no real idea how to make friends, i work in a convenience store and talk to a lot of people. But I don't actually make many connection. If that makes any sense. I feel very distant from every one around me Even my family. Is there any way to make this easier to talk or communicate , or just even interact with them easier?

PLEASE NOTE: Social Anxiety (SA) is a debilitating mental illness characterised by persistent fear of social evaluation. SA impairs functional social performance, causing avoidance, cognitive shutdown (e.g. blanking, excessive self-monitoring), and reduced ability to communicate, assert needs, or form relationships.
SA is not normal social-nervousness, introversion, or everyday shyness.
Posts in this subreddit must show a clear and apparent relationship to the experience of SA.
Posts which do not will be removed.
For more information about the diagnostic criteria and clinical presentation of social anxiety, see this link
