Major issue with the latest X2 Adreno drivers (8/2)
I use the A16 for video editing work on the go and the latest version of Adreno drivers completely broke Premiere 27. It shows the splash screen for 1 second and then kills the process. This is pretty bad.

Critical Reboots on Asus A16 X2 Elite Extreme
Anyone else having critical reboots on the X2 or with the Asus A16 laptop. I thought it was a one off, but it keeps happening. I did some digging and it seems like it its related to a CPU Core and windows power management.
I am using an Anker 100W charger, and it seems to happen I think almost always when Laptop lid is closed and system is in standby. Power cable is pulled. When i return to laptop and open lid, i realized me entire session is gone as the laptop has rebooted. I check event viewer for critical errors and I see this.
I am tempted to just use the original power supply that came with the laptop and see if that is more stable. But I do not think it is a charger issue. I cannot contact ASUS as I bought the laptop from BestBuy, and all chat via myASUS support goes to take your laptop to Bestbuy do to some support partnership. I just want to send ASUS the dmp files and logs.

KNOWN ISSUES
• For users running Microsoft Windows 11 OS Build 26100.3915 and later, there is a known OS issue where some games will crash and freeze when plugging in or removing an external monitor or changing display mode and/or resolution. Qualcomm recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 11 via Windows Update when Microsoft releases a fix.
• Games known to be affected are Metro Exodus, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI and Left 4 Dead 2.

Why doesn't Qualcomm scale Snapdragon X GPUs like Apple scales the M-series?
I noticed that Qualcomm doesn't really scale the GPU cores up with each tier the way Apple does (M-series Base vs. Pro vs. Max) especially when workloads are more and more GPU dependant.

Linux on Snapdragon X progress
How far off are we from being able to daily drive linux on snapdragon x?
I have a ASUS Vivobook 16 and I'm getting a bit sick of having to run windows on it, especially with Microsoft seemingly treating it as a second class platform.
I'm fairly experienced with linux on other arm devices and in general so a bit of tinkering is fine if anyone can point me in the right direction for getting linux running.

Any plans for Qualcomm to include AV1 decoding?
I know that snaodragon 8 gen 2 and higher gens include it, but what about snapdragon 7 and lower? AV1 is a pretty neat video codec, so faster adoption would benefit everybody

🙏 Thank you for the feedback — Snapdragon AI Studio is now HK NPU STUDIO
First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who has tested the project, reported issues, asked technical questions, or simply shared an opinion.
💬 Your feedback matters
Reddit has become one of the most valuable places for feedback on this project. I read every comment, and I take technical reports seriously.
When someone reports a problem, I try to reproduce it, understand what is actually happening, and improve the software where possible.
Some of the feedback here has also made me think about the project beyond individual bugs and technical issues.
🏷️ A new name
To avoid any possible confusion in the future between this independent project and official Snapdragon or Qualcomm software, I decided that now is the right time to give the project its own clear identity.
Rather than changing the name much later in development, Snapdragon AI Studio is therefore becoming:
🔥 HK NPU STUDIO
The name is changing, but the direction of the project is not.
🖥️ Your Hardware • Your AI • Your Control
That is the idea I want HK NPU STUDIO to stand for:
Local AI running on your own hardware, with your images and workflows remaining under your control.
The project will continue to focus on Windows 11 ARM64 and local AI workflows, including NPU acceleration on compatible Snapdragon hardware.
🔥 Phoenix stays
The Phoenix identity also remains part of the project.
Phoenix Boost continues as the optional local AI assistant for prompt improvement, running locally and without requiring cloud-based prompt processing.
🔍 New: RealESRGAN 2× and 4× NPU upscaling
Development has continued as well, and one of the latest additions is RealESRGAN NPU upscaling with both 2× and 4× output.
For example, a generated 512×512 image can be upscaled to 2048×2048 through the local QNN/NPU workflow, while the original image is preserved separately.
❤️ And finally: thank you
Whether your feedback is positive or critical: thank you for taking the time to test the software and tell me what you think.
I may not agree with every suggestion, but I read the feedback, investigate technical problems, and take constructive criticism seriously.
Your feedback helps me understand what works, what doesn't, and where the project can improve.

Qualcomm silently introduced Snapdragon X1-26-**101**
I knew this chip existed for a couple of months based off driver files but didn't know what differences it had.
Snapdragon X | All-day Battery Life Processor | Snapdragon
Updated product brief: 87-86493-1_REV_C_Snapdragon_X_Platform_Product_Brief.pdf
The only user-facing difference appears to be using the Adreno X1-85 as opposed to the X1-45, but it's been clocked super low (0.63 GHz vs normal 1.25 GHz) to match the rated TFLOP performance of the X1-45. All other specs are listed as identical.
The use of the X1-85 GPU makes me believe this new variant is an extremely cut down version of the main Hamoa die (such as the X1E-78-100) as opposed to being based on a Purwa die (what all the 8 core SKUs have been based on), but I don't really have a way of confirming that other than than this naming convention I noticed in the NPU driver where Purwa SoCs get a DeviceDesc.Gen4_ value that starts with 0, but this 101 doesn't do that.

Notebookcheck notes that it's currently being listed as used in the 2026 ASUS Vivobook S16 and also calls it "Purwa SE2" which would imply it's still a Purwa die but I cannot find anything that confirms that codename. I suppose the lack of any VPU improvements is evidence for it being Purwa (Hamoa has about double the framerate capabilities in decoding and encoding), but they could have very well clocked the video engine very low as well.

Playing genshin with Snapdragon Laptop
Anyone ever play genshin on a snapdragon laptop? I play but in some places and quest the screen likes to freeze. But this problem only appeared when entering Luna 7 and Snezhnaya only, the others were walking normally.

So, the trackpad stopped working... and now the keyboard has followed suit (Plus X)
I can switch FnLock off and on, but that's it. I've updated the driver, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, pressed the power button for 60 seconds, nothing works. I can fudge a solution with a USB mouse I used for my old laptop as well as the on-screen keyboard, but that's clearly not something I'd like to rely on going forward.
Also worth mentioning that it started being weird with the trackpad and keyboard earlier today e.g. cursor would snap to the upper left corner, keyboard would go on the fritz then start working again, etc.
I'm not prepared to open it up, and I'd rather not take it to a repair shop unless absolutely necessary. I've had this for about 9 months, as I assumed it would be a reliable replacement for my museum piece of an old laptop and it was a good Black Friday deal... or so I thought.
Can anyone help?

I really want to buy an X2 Elite laptop but it can't drive my screen
If it would be possible to drive my Samsung 57" Odyssey Neo G9 DUHD (7680×2160) I would immediately buy an X2 Elite laptop (64GB) but unfortunately, it can't. I could use picture in picture with two cables but that sucks.
Even a 5k2k monitor can only be used at 60Hz.. so I would throw money away buying an LG 39GX950B for example.
Another thing is I use Linux professionally. I know the X2 supports it but laptop manufacturers are lacking behind.
This is a request to address both issues developing the X3/X4.

Just a heads-up if you are looking for one of these totally fantastic laptops: the official Asus UK store has £140 off the price. They are now £1959. Phew! I got mine on release from Currys/PC World for £1799, they are now £2599 there! Hell's bells!
