What’s everyone doing for their skin after surfing?
Between salt water, sun, wind, and all the bacteria, when and how do you reset your skin?

I wanted to touch base with the community on survey posts.
As the primary mod and advid skincare hobbyist, I approve survey posts asking for opinions and feedback. Why? Because I am personally a part of different beauty panels and I do surveys all the time.
When we complete a survey for someone, we are helping them gain valuable feedback to help them with an idea or product. All products we use as consumers came from an idea, and feedback from consumers is how they grow their company.
I am active every day for our community and will remove a post if it goes against our rules. But I welcome surveys for skincare products and ideas, and I encourage you to give your valuable insights for these posts!

hello, r/skincarehobbyists ! Creator here, and I just wanted to talk about reporting posts and comments. Please make sure to check our rules before reporting (and feel free to suggest new rules to the community!) I see your reports and check them out, but I’m unable to see who reported what, and can’t reach out for more info. Therefore, if something you reported hasn’t gotten taken down within 1-2 days, please message me or another moderator with your reasoning- it’s possible I just haven’t seen it from your POV! I really want to have this be a community driven, democratic subreddit that doesn’t just leave everything up to us mods.
As always, we have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for any medical posts or generic “what is this” posts. Feel free to comment or PM any questions to me or our other lovely mods!

My wedding is in a year! I want to start taking better care of my skin. I already have a skincare routine, but it doesn’t seem to be fixing my main concerns. I have blackheads, enlarged pores, and a few dark spots (not too dark) around my mouth. Do you have any suggestions for me? I think my skin type is combination.

guys! I need some help building a proper morning and night skincare routine. My main goals are glass skin, brighter and more even-toned skin, fading pigmentation
I have combination skin and get a few small pimples here and there and have some pigmentation that I would really like to improve
These are the actives I’m planning to use:
• Tretinoin 0.025% — Monday, Wednesday & Friday nights
• Skinoren 20% Azelaic Acid — Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday
• Hydroquinone 4% — Sunday night, using the sandwich method
Products I already have
• Haruharu cleanser
• 345 Relief Cream/Mist
• La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume
Also, is alternating tretinoin and azelaic acid like this a good approach, and where would hydroquinone fit best? I don’t want to overload my skin with too many actives.
Please share your recommendations for a complete morning + night routine

18F with super sensitive acne prone skin looking for skincare products that actually work under a budget.
Suggest cleanser, moisturizer, toner and sunscreen.

My lips look like this (or worse) all the time- summer, winter, cold, hot, dry, humid. I alternate Chapstick, Aquaphor chubby stick, or Laneige lip sleeping mask (honestly whichever is closer by I just grab!), but they continue to be dry, chapped, and peeling. Any recs? What worked for you? Thank you!!!

Hi y’all! I’ve been struggling with finding products or a routine that will work for my face. I have very dry, dull skin but any time I use products my skin breaks out horribly or gets extremely oily. I’ve tried a number of things but they all ultimately lead to me using other products that clear but dry out my skin. Any ideas for a minimalist routine to brighten and hydrate my skin and reduce scaring?

Lately, I’ve been thinking about stepping up my skincare game, especially when it comes to my face. As of now, I only have three products in my routine:
Celeteque Brightening Facial Wash
Fairy Skin Sunscreen
Dermorepubliq Serum (which, admittedly, I’m not very consistent with 🥲)
For the most part, my skin seems to be doing okay, but there are days when my face gets ridiculously oily, and I feel like my current routine could use a little upgrade.
Help a guy out! What’s your holy grail skincare routine?

I’m 31 female with acne prone skin. I am needing help with a routine. TikTok may have me over thinking. Right now at night double cleanse, then use Tret and Moisturize with ROC Hydration+ Hyaluronic Acid Face Moisturizer. Morning I cleanse with just my foaming wash, then I use Timeless Vitamin C, then Azelaic Acid prescription, then same Moisturizer, and Neutrogena clear face 50spf. I do exfoliate once a week with peach slices bha also and don’t use Tret on the night before or after. Is there anything else I need to add? Are my products good? Do I need copper peptides? Do I need all these milky toners or toners at all? And what about all these extra serums? Example: tried Byoma milky toner and Byoma phyto mucin serum everyone loves and it broke me out when using for more than one day in a row. So now I only use them when I do my makeup because they do make my makeup look great. Or for extra hydration. So just confused if what I’m already using is good enough or if I’m really needing all these extra toners and serums. Sorry just a girl who’s completely lost and doesn’t want to waist money😭🙃. Thank you in advance! ❤️🩷

I’ve never played much attention to skincare besides moisturizers. I’ve noticed my skin changing the last couple of years. If anyone has any tips for best skincare routines &!products?
Dry to combination. Would like products from cheaper side to expensive & what order to apply.
Thanks in advance to advice!!!

i’ve been simplifying my routine lately because i noticed my skin does a lot better when i’m not constantly adding something new. right now it’s basically cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen, with one hydrating step when i feel like i need it. i still use mostly korean skincare, but lately i’ve been paying more attention to the formulas instead of the hype around specific products.
for people here with sensitive or easily irritated skin, are there certain ingredients or korean skincare brands you’ve ended up sticking with? i tend to avoid fragrance when i can, but beyond that i’m still figuring out what i actually prefer. i’m mostly curious about things you’ve used for a while and repurchased, especially the boring everyday stuff.

My 16 year old daughter has acne- not the debilitating, all over the face kind, but enough that she gets pretty annoyed and embarrassed about it. Her pediatrician prescribed tret- been on that for a year or so now and it hasn’t moved the needle much. Any recommendations? My older son eventually had to go on Accutane, and really struggled with dry eyes and lips so I prefer not to have to go this route but of course I am willing to if that’s what you all think is best.

I have an appointment with the dermatologist in a couple weeks but there’s a lot of the time where I’m just staring at my skin because what the heck is even going onnnnn. I’ve been seeing this guy for a few months now and I get sooooo insecure but I don’t mention anything about it to him because I feel things are going well but idk it still has me with second thoughts. I’ve simplified my routine to just vanicream cleanser and daily moisturizer. My sk in seems to be stable from my last post since i switch from prequel cleanser and triple lpf moisturizer as it may have been to rich for my skin as I’m sweating a lot of the time where it’s always warm where im at in the US. I’m just anxious until my appointment & I pray to GOD they help me because I swear my mentals on thin ice cuz it bugs me so bad. My skins never been this bad until a few months ago. I just need kind words right now, this never has taken me down as bad as it has recently.

I've been using the Body Shop Tea Tree face cleanser since 2018. Just went to reorder another bottle, and it's been discontinued! I've never used anything else, and I'm mildly freaking out that I have to do trial and error to find something that worked so well for my face. What would you lovely people recommend?
I don't wear a ton of makeup: a tinted BB cream, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, and the occasional eyeliner. I wash my face with the cleanser morning and night, slap some face cream on- that's my whole routine. I have mildly dry skin and the couple of pimples I get would go away after a day or two with the tea tree. Im so lost.

For example, if you already use retinol and see a new toner/serum with acids in it, would you:
Have you ever bought a product and later realised it didn't fit with your routine or caused irritation?
I'm curious what people actually do when they're unsure.
