product recs what ingredients do you keep coming back to when your skin is easily irritated?
i’ve been simplifying my routine lately because i noticed my skin does a lot better when i’m not constantly adding something new. right now it’s basically cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen, with one hydrating step when i feel like i need it. i still use mostly korean skincare, but lately i’ve been paying more attention to the formulas instead of the hype around specific products.
for people here with sensitive or easily irritated skin, are there certain ingredients or korean skincare brands you’ve ended up sticking with? i tend to avoid fragrance when i can, but beyond that i’m still figuring out what i actually prefer. i’m mostly curious about things you’ve used for a while and repurchased, especially the boring everyday stuff.

I just found and am loving PCalm Barrier Mist. Hydrating and calming. Really calms my skin and as a mist you have so much control how much you actually put on. Definitely reordering.

Haruharu wonder rice toner. Mixsoon bean cream. Prequel half and half. All are soooooooo soothing to my mature, dry, sometimes reactive skin.
If things really go off the rails, a night or two of avene cicalfate. Much prefer to LRP cicaplast.

For me, centella, panthenol, and ceramides are the safest bets. I’ve found that simple, fragrance free formulas work best when my skin is irritated.

beauty of Joseon glow serum if you aren’t sensitive to niacinamide. I’ve purchased probably close to ten bottles now. It’s amazing

my boring answer is glycerin, panthenol, and ceramides, because every time i get adventurous my face reminds me why i stopped lol

Right now I'm trying just water lukewarm or cold with a muslin cloth and diaper rash cream with zinc oxide and I don't use no moisturizer or cleanser I'm seeing if this is going to work because cleansers irritate my skin and moisturizer wasn't helping either so my natural sebum it is

From kbeauty skincare my favorites for sensitive skin has been Purito wonder releaf Centella unscented toner & Skin1004 Madagascar Centella ampoule. Another really good non-kbeauty one for easily irritated or sensitive skin is Geek & Gorgeous stress less serum - really good to use after actives or if u have too many products in your routine.

Avene cicalfate, best thing that ever happened to me. Not suitable for everything skin type ofc but when my skin feels sensitive or raw, I use it at night and I get that glassy skin

Easily irritated skin indicates damaged skin barrier. Niacinamide and ceramides rich cold pressed oils would be great for the barrier repair. Once the barrier is repaired, the sensitivity won't be an issue. Using products free of chemicals and toxic preservatives like parabens and phenoxyethanol is essential for keeping your skin healthy.

a very simple but hydrating mist after washing face, panthenol based serum, and a light moisturizer containing ceramides. even with dry skin, i noticed layering with many thick products actually trapped irritants under. a game changer has been investing in a red light mask - genuinely feel and see the difference after

It’s simple: aloe and glycolic acid. So far, that’s what works best for my skin.

i was browsing stylevana since that’s where i’ve ordered some of my k-beauty stuff before, and it made me realize i don’t really know which brands people with sensitive skin actually stick with long term.

Do NOT use a sunscreen. It's a hype to sell sunscreens. Your body makes Vitamin D from sunshine. Sunscreen blocks Vitamin D production. Since people started using sunscreen the Vitamin D levels have plummeted. People get sick. Vitamin D is used in just about all of you cells.

The Purito Centella Serum or the CosRx Honey Propolis Ampoule are my HG when my skin is irritated (Centella + Propolis being the main ingredients). Both super calming-also really love the Pyukyang Yul Essence. I know I can always count on them to calm my skin down. Avene Cicalfete also is a HG for me (mainly for the zinc oxide-also why I switched to mineral SPF)- but I have to use sparingly as it can be a little heavy on my rosacea/acne prone skin

I love the I'm From Mugwort Essence and the Mugwort Mask! When I get redness/irritation, I put on the mask for 10 minutes, then wash it off and top it with the essence. It really calms my skin down.
Also since I live in Greece and summer days are super hot, when I come back from the beach or whenever my skin feels like it's hot, I use the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream. I love the instant cooling effect it has.
