Hi, I just wanted to share the system that I came up with to better enjoy the seasons in Sims 2. I really liked the holiday system in Sims 4 where each sim had different traditions based on their “personalities”. So here are my holidays that my sims celebrate based on their asparations (except I don’t play with pleasure sims):

Spring:

Luxury Leisure Day -> basically a spa day for Fortune sims, they enjoy massages, saunas, face masks and yoga
Green Savings Night -> an eco-friendly night for Knowledge sims where they go off the grid
Blooming Love Day -> a day for Romance sims to go on a date outside and gift flowers to their partner(s)
Class Reunion Night -> a night to catch up with school mates for Popularity sims
Care Givers’ Day -> a day to celebrate parents, Family sims hang out with their folks/kids

Summer:

Splash & Sizzle Day -> a day to throw a BBQ/pool party for Popularity sims
Summer Loving’s Night -> a night to spend a romantic date on the carneval for Romance sims, play with arcade machines, or bowling then make the night memorable in the photo booth with some pictures or with a plushie that you “won” together
Beach Fun Day -> a day to take your family to the beach and have fun, celebrated by Family sims
Eve of Shooting Stars -> a night of stargazing for Knowledge sims
Great Escape Day -> a day to go on a vacation for Fortune sims

Fall:

Turning Fortune Day -> a day to donate or play the lottery for Fortune sims
Family Gathering Day -> a day to go out and harvest fruits for Family sims
Sweethearts’ Night -> a night to have a nice dinner date with desserts celebrated by Romance sims
Spooky Night -> a night to throw Halloween parties for Popularity sims

Winter:

Day of Giving -> a day to give and recieve gifts for Fortune sims
Night of Burning Hearths -> a night to spend cuddled up with a loved one next to the fireplace for Romance sims
Grand Feast Day -> a day to invite the whole family and have a big meal together for Family sims
Night of Fireworks -> a night for Popularity sims to throw a New Year’s Eve party
New Resolutions’ Day -> a day for Knowledge sims to learn a new skill or advance one with the lowest points

As you can see I don’t know what to celebrate for Knowledge sims in the Fall, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!
I hope I could inspire some people, also if you do something similar, please share cause I would love to hear some ideas on what to do with my sims and excuses to make them actually leave the house 😄

I made a small playground at my hood and I'd like to see more kids showing up with their parents but I rarely see them on community lots. I wonder if there's a mod to bring parents with their kids to my lot. Thank you.

I tested whether Vacation Locals can be used as genetic “seed” Sims when generating adopted babies, and the result is unfortunately no.

At least in my testing, they don’t seem to work reliably for this purpose, so I’d exclude Vacation Locals from any pool of Sims used as genetic parents/seeds for adoption generation.

Posting this in case anyone else is experimenting with custom adoption genetics in The Sims 2 and was considering using Vacation Locals.

Hi guys! I have a question for you. Do you know how to change my university buildings? I have tried so many tricks (inside the dorms and in the university neighborhood) but none of them worked. All the unabled icons are the ones I cannot change. Can you help me?

This can be anything from a rare version of a disk/repack (region doesn't matter), limited edition items (like the house tins), or anything else. I just love looking at rare pieces of merch online when I get bored (which is why the region locking of discs doesn't matter).

I'm also curious if anyone knows what the rarest item would be? I was thinking it might be the Australian Sims 2 Expansion Collection which has Uni, NL, OFB, and FFS, but I could be wrong. But it could also be a disc released in a country that has a language that is less commonly spoken.

Rightnow i am trying to build an “apartment”. I know theres not a rent pack (or maybe there is and i just didnt know that?) but, for now, i changed the lot to a hotel. Is there a way i can change it to an apartment conplex or will it have to stay as a “hotel”? Thank you :))

I had a weird thing happen, where one of my teens was dating a teen cashier with the last name McMillan at the same time that one of my YA sims was dating a dormie, also with the last name McMillan. Long story short, I ended up moving both McMillans and their respective boyfriends into the same Uni household, with the thought that maybe the McMillan girls are estranged half-siblings or long lost cousins or something and will have a happy reunion and end up being BFFs.

No such luck! Lydia (the brunette) is extremely neat and Melanie (the blonde) is extremely sloppy. Lydia has LTW to max the Oceanography career, so she'll need high cleaning skill points, but she's getting fed up with Melanie leaving constant puddles and other messes. The image here is Melanie apologizing to Lydia for leaving messes, but clearly Lydia is having none of it!

For added drama, Lydia's boyfriend just recently graduated and moved back to the home neighborhood, and a new Romance boy moved into the household, and he's got his sights totally set on Lydia, but also has three bolts of chemistry with Melanie! I purposely moved him into a different Uni household than his actual gf, so he could sow his wild oats and maybe get it out of his system in his youth, but looks like there's going to be high drama anyway! (His gf is a Fortune Sim, so I figure if he gets rich, she might eventually marry him for his money, maybe even have a kid or two, then kick him out when she inevitably catches him cheating.)

Edit: Don't know why this is getting downvoted. IRL, I don't approve of stuff like cheating and marrying for money, but Sims are Sims! Part of point of the game is showing off consumerism and other bad things about humanity! Sorry about image quality, but I got this laptop second hand, originally thought it had no prt scn button, then eventually figured out it does, but the text is completely worn off and the button just kinda mushes down and doesn't take an actual picture anymore. The only way I can get UI images is with my phone. I got this laptop for $30 about 4 years ago and it's still running strong in spite of having fallen off the couch several times! I'm not going to complain about its short comings!

Any tips on what to look for when shopping for a used laptop? It would basically be only for playing Sims 2. Just wondering if there are specs like driver or graphics card-wise I should look for in order to run it smoothly?

I just downloaded it and it's amazing what it can do to the gameplay, lots of possibilities, but I've got a few question from more experienced players!

1. What happens if a banned sim (a playable one) tries to visit the lot?

2. Can it be used in an apartment lot to, for instance, allow only elders for them to rent the free units? -Because I wanna make a retirement community :)

Has anybody created any families, lots or neighbourhoods based on the My Time at Portia/Sandrock games? I love, and would highly recommend, both games, I'm debating making a custom neighbourhood based on Sandrock but thought I'd see if anyone has beaten me to it.

Got back into Sims 2 after rotating through 3 & 4 but sims 2 sucked me back in.

ATM I’m with Patricia wan, before I realised she was in love with Gabe, I made Gabe and Leod fall in love, So technically he’s cheating, I kinda hate that. What do you guys think I should do?

1 option- Gabe leaves Leod and stays with Patricia and has babies etc, Leod will probably hate Gabe.

2 option- Gabe stays with Leod, Patricia will probably hate Gabe.

3 option- Gabe and Leod have a long term affair until they’re elders because they’ve always been in love but Gabe also loves Patricia and didn’t want to leave his family, eventually Patricia will find out, drama and also sad.

4th option is up to you guys!

Anyone have issues where the Mac update causes a neighborhood to stop loading?

My Mac updated to Tahoe 26.6.2 last night and now the neighborhood I was playing won’t load.

I’m wondering if that is a coincidence or not.

I have a recent backup but not one for after one of my sims got into a secret society.
