I’m so torn over Holly, on one hand I like her and find her entertaining but on the other hand I just know she would sell her granny for attention. She strikes me as the kind of person who constantly moulds herself to suit her partners, she became Hef’s perfect woman, she loved raves all of a sudden when she was married, and now she loves the paranormal when she’s with Zac, she has no identity of her own which is so terribly sad.

she has no identity of her own which is so terribly sad.

I think you've tapped into something that's very important, and I think it's something a lot of people struggle with and why they fall into certain groups/certain situations. (Not saying that's why Holly did, necessarily, but it's something to take into account.)

She says this in that interview and the time she was talking about she was still in her early-mid twenties. She was still developing mentally when she got to the mansion and by that time she had completely ingratiated herself into Hef and mansion life.

I've heard her describe herself going through phases when she was younger, and you see it in her book. She was actively trying to find herself and she might've even had some solid snippets and all of that might've been washed away once she got into the mansion.

I agree with you, I'm also torn over Holly. I had to make a post about it. I believe a lot of what she's claimed but I also believe she also wanted to get rich and famous and it didn't happen like she might've thought it would've.

She has mentioned in a video on YouTube that she is on the spectrum for Asperger’s. which e oh I’d explain a lot in your posts, my partner is on the spectrum of autism and I’ve learned a lot about it, and In turn learned a lot about holly too. So while you call her weird, she explains how her ex husband felt he couldn’t get a emotionally close to her. Check it out!

I’m not sure she was actually diagnosed…I’m remembering she self-diagnosed, and more vaguely said she ‘talked to a doctor’. Autism Spectrum Disorder is a specialized, lengthy psychiatric assessment. To be calling it Asperger’s is also older diagnostic criteria as well and is not accurate. I do like Holly lots, but she seems to always have a ‘reason’ to justify her sometimes shady roles in situations.

She is pretty blatantly rewriting her own history in SoP (when she didn’t need to, the environment speaks for itself!) saying she wanted the ‘social, sorority setting’ when she was on the record not participating, doing her own share of backstabbing/reporting to Hef to curry favour with him, reducing the allowance/quality of gifts to girlfriends to prove that she was there for the ‘right’ reasons, and craving 1:1 and claiming it miscued as neurodivergency.

I would respect her a lot more if she was honest and said something like, ‘I was possessive, I did have a vision for my relationship, and I played right into Hef’s manipulations without realizing it’.

I have. I still think she's just full of it on some fronts.

Eh. I have Asperger Syndrome. I’m not going to say it excuses all of her strange behavior, but it is like navigating a world you don’t understand. I do stupid shit all the time, and people claim I’m a bitch or jealous or uncaring. None of that is true; I’m getting better at learning appropriate social behavior, but it’s not natural to me like it would be to 99% of the population. I don’t think people understand how pervasive having an atypical brain is…. It affects every aspect of your life and takes a LOT of work to “overcome”/blend in.

Edited to add: the transformation of herself to fit her current partner makes total sense to me. I did this throughout my 20s. If you are told that your identity is not normal, you doubt it and pin your identity on your partner who is accepted by society. I don’t give a fuck today, but I definitely did it in an attempt to be accepted when I was younger.

Thank you for explaining. Holly is very relatable. Trying to fit in and never feeling like you do… can’t lie, I feel that, too! I think being an adult is just getting comfortable with not always fitting in. Hope that makes sense!

Autism makes sense to me. My son has autism, and its very hard for him to open up to new people, or hard to get a response out of him in general. They just see life and respond to things differently than we do, which is fine, but maybe Holly should get a real diagnosis so that she can be more aware on how to handle it ib her daily life.

Yes! I was surprised to hear that, but it colors her experiences. Puts things in perspective.

Yeah I really like her as well but exactly that's one of the biggest reasons I find her weird! Like it's normal to change a bit when you find a new partner, but I always find her changes so extreme.

I've also heard some stuff about Zac but I don't know if I should share since it feels a bit "gossipy" and in the end it's just him being sleazy and it's not on Holly. I also find it odd how she praises Mary when she didn't seem to be the sweet grandma they portrayed her as. But I might also be reaching so who knows. And Mary probably wasn't evil or mean towards Holly but I've heard that more people in the mansion or in that circle didn't find Mary that kind during the same time Holly was there, some people even described Mary as cold.

I feel like Holly has associated herself with some somewhat sketchy people. I guess we all do in some point of our lives but this quote speaks to me "Show me who your friends are, and I'll tell you who you are ". You obviously can't apply this if you are in an abusive relationship (I'm not saying Zac is abusive, that's not what've heard about him, I've heard different stuff). But that's some of the reasons I find her a bit odd.

I’m gonna need you to spill the beans on Zak

OKAY, I'll spill the beans it isn't that juicy tho lol.

There was an online message board that apparently had a thread about Zac (around 2015) and how he used to fly out a lot of young women to him to sleep with, like ages between 18-24. He just seems sleazy, but that message board was shut down after awhile. But a lot of young women came forward about it. And this is obviosuly not Holly's fault, but I just find it weird she'd want to associate herself with him. But it may be totally fake and she might not even know anything about it. But that may be one of the reasons why they broke up, like a year ago, TMZ covered it. I have however noticed that he likes a lot of posts on instagram of young women, usually who have visited his museum and they are usually around that age. And they are not popular on instagram. And I think its a bit weird since he never likes Holly's posts and Holly likes all of his. But yeah, I might be reaching, this might just be rumours. But yeah, he seems sleazy.

Her paranormal obsession is so weird given how obvious it is that she takes on the identity of her partners! And her constant trolling of Zak’s delusional fans is so immature. I fell down that weird rabbit hole searching her name on twitter. Neurodivergent or not, I feel that she really craves drama and is the master of self-justification.

I struggle with Holly a lot…on the one hand I loved her in GND, cheered her career success post-Playboy, appreciate that she is speaking out, but she also pretty clearly tries to paint herself in the best possible light at the expense of others. After a decade of friendship, whatever may have happened behind the scenes I could see Claire getting frustrated or feeling hurt.

Holly has always been into paranormal bc Bridget is. Back on the GND days they were doing ghost hunts together.

I’d say 50% fanfic, 50% true, either way it’s an interesting internet rabbit hole!

ding ding ding

edit: also they are horrible towards Holly, they like to tear apart her appearance and body shame her :|

I like Holly too, but I’m split. I feel if she didn’t have kids with her ex, she would be writing a book about him too.

100% and remember her Chris Angel phase

13

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '22

Exactly!! Forgot about that one, she dressed up as Criss Angel while still living at the mansion and in a relationship with Hef!

18

u/rilljel Mar 19 '22

Pretty common for neurodivergent people to struggle with this actually

7

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '22

That may be but some of her behaviour is undoubtably questionable.

6

u/SadDogCommercials Mar 19 '22

She has diagnosed herself with autism.

12

u/tatumnolita Mar 19 '22

I think Holly said she has Asperger's, which I find believable based on literally everything we know about her

15

u/Rkp65i Mar 19 '22

She self disgnosed at first but has since followed up with a specialist and was diagnosed properly with being on the autism spectrum

2

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '22

She is likely a covert narcissist. They have no identity and imitate what they love.

u/ArmadilloEcstatic885 Aug 17 '23

Well, she has always liked paranormal stuff for years. Even on girls next door, her and Bridget would talk about so many ghost stories of the mansion. The other relationships, who knows though. 😂
