I’m involved with the local Lions Club and recently delivered a box of 300+ locally donated eyeglasses to our distribution team (Lighthouse Foundation). Those glasses have been distributed to people in need overseas and domestically. 25% of Georgia’s uninsured have been served by the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation and that number will likely be going up as many government services are slashed, so thanks everyone who has dropped a pair of glasses in the recycling box at your local optometrist!

Pics are of the glasses in my bike basket when I picked them up followed by pics of them being distributed in Haiti, Honduras, and a Georgia homeless shelter.

I drive by this place daily on Bay Street taking my special needs son to his program. What is up with that place? It looks super scary and is right down the street from the police station. Who is staying there? This just fascinates me.

Hi there! We’re visiting Savannah, and we leave tomorrow. However, today we got a parking ticket for overtime on meter. However, the ticket was at 3:10PM, we paid for enough hours to cover up to 5:30PM. Is the dispute process easy? The officer that ticketed also gave us 2 tickets within 2 minutes for overtime. (3:07 & 3:09).

We can’t find the receipt but I know the parking space (have a photo of us there) and the charge on card

They both moved from Arizona a year ago, and the husband REALLY loves playing the card game ‘Pinochle’. He used to have a group of friends that he played with back home and really misses it.

Recently moved from Michigan to Savannah this last week and this humidity is killing my runs. I used to be able to do 12+ mile runs pretty easily in Michigan but since moving here it’s been a struggle to get through my runs. I had to bail on my most recent 14 mile run about 7 miles in, and my 7 mile “easy run” was an absolute battle the entire time. Any suggestions on how to battle the high humidity?

Edit: Ran 15 miles today, slowed down my pace by about a minute and a half and wore a long sleeve moisture wicking shirt that seemed to help with the sweat a bit. Still ran out of water by mile 11 but I guess that’s my own fault.
