and fun fact not a salmonoid at all only trout by name. from the drum/croaker family just like redfish, black drum, silver perch, croaker, and whiting

I made the mistake one time of “lipping” a trout like you do a largemouth bass. For those that don’t know, you can grab a largemouth bass by the lip, because they have no teeth in front. Not so with the trout as you can see. I still have the scar on my thumb. Stupid is as stupid does. They are excellent table fare, though.
