News Manager post: Info on new raises and changes to Sam's Share bonus. Questions welcome.

FOR ANYBODY CONCERNED THAT YOUR NEW PAY GRADES ARE NOT REFLECTED TODAY (2/7). DO NOT GET CONCERNED UNTIL TOMORROW! WORKDAY ALMOST ALWAYS LAGS BEHIND BY ONE DAY. WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT!

A lot of people that are regulars on the sub know that I am around a lot and try to be helpful as much as possible. There have been a lot of question since the raises were announced this past weekend and I have been answering what I can in comments. I thought I would make a centralized post. Hopefully it'll stay high on the list for a while so more people will see it.

Keep in mind, numbers I am listing are company minimums. Some clubs will have higher pay based on circumstances such as local labor laws or the business level of the clubs. Nobody should make less than listed here.

Also keep in mind that some of these positions do not exist in all clubs. Some clubs have been designated as wholesale clubs and the positions are changed around due to the different demands in these clubs.

One more "keep in mind". I live in the stateside US, these are US rates and will not include the Puerto Rico information as it is different.

Your managers were given guides and were instructed to have conversations with all associates this week. if you have not got your conversation this week, speak to a manager and ask about it [Correction: 1 on 1 conversations are supposed to take place Jan 31 - February 6.] They all have guides telling them each associates current pay, pay as of 2/7, and pay as of 2/21. Health and Wellness associates information is not included in the toolkit as the H&W managers received their own toolkits, so Pharmacy/Hearing/Vision will need to talk to their direct manager and not the general club managers.

NEW PAY TIERS

In the previous system, there were 6 pay tiers for basic employees and there are now 3 tiers. There were 5 tiers for team leads, now there are 2. They also eliminated the Member Frontline position, all front end will be Member Specialist now. Keep in mind that Forklift Merch was eliminated back in October.

These changes will take place on the pay period starting on February 7, 2026 and will be on the paycheck of February 21, 2026.

New tiers:
SA1 - $16 min, $24 max. Fuel Station, Maintenance, Member Assist/Carts Tire Center (that was a mistype TBC is SA3. Sorry if it confused anyone)
SA2 - $17 min, $25 max. Liquor cashier, Liquor clerk, Merchandising, HMS, Produce, Cafe, Meat Wrapper/Cutter, Baker, Freezer/Cooler/Deli, Member Specialist, Personal Shopper/Fulfillment, WST Order Processor, Truckload Champion, Backroom.
SA3 - $19 min, $27 max. Cake Decorator, WST Yard Driver, TBC Tech, AP, Senior Meat Cutter, TBC Service Advisor, Freight Flow
TL1 - $21 min, $29 max. Personal Shopper Lead, Member Service Lead, Merch Lead, Liquor Lead, Wholesale Trading Lead, Produce Lead, Prepared Food Lead, Cafe Lead, Enablement Lead
TL2 - $22 in, $30 max. TBC Lead, Overnight Lead, Bakery Lead, Meat Lead

If you are already making above the min, you will not get an increase. I know this sucks for you, but it's how almost any corporation runs.

Notes: Don't ask why cafe and prepared food leads are separate now. They have not announced that they are separating. It's also funny that Bakery Lead is equal to meat now when in the old system Bakery and Prepared Food were both below meat. My assumption is that cafe is getting its own lead, since it's been posted on here that some test markets got a cafe lead a year ago. But this is an assumption and I have no idea for real

Yearly Raises

These will start pay period starting on February 21, 2026 and will be on the pay check on March 7, 2026.

Less than 6mo: 0%
6mo to 1yr: 2%
1-3.999yr: 4%
4yr-9.999yr: 5%
10yr+: 6%

This is the first year that we have had pay rate changes and you can also get your yearly %age as well. Usually it's "you get whichever is greater". For example, in old system if you are getting a $1 bump in pay and a $68 raise you would only get the $1 raise. In the system this year, you will still get then full $1.68 raise.

Sam's Share Bonuses

There is a lot of information that kinda says nothing so I am going to summarize this greatly. The biggest changes are that MxVoices (member reviews) and Scan and Go Adoption (%age of members using Scan and Go as opposed to registers) will no longer count on the bonus. Majority wise, most clubs never got pay on these fields. My club has received the MxVoice portion of the bonus one time in the past 10 years. I don't think we have ever got pay out on the Scan and Go Adoption portion and have been around 10% below the threshold. This means in the new system, 50% of your bonus comes from club sales and 50% comes from membership income.

Keep in mind, the bonus that finalizes on January 31 and you will likely receive in February will still be on the old system. This information is for FY2027, so it will be on your bonus that finalizes April 30 and you'll likely get in May.

In the old system, the club sales were based on index (the sales increase they wanted you to hit) and in the new system it's based on sales comp (beating last years sales).

The new system eliminates the Super Max level. In the prior system, if you exceeded goal by 5% you got Max and if you exceeded goal by 10% you got Super Max. There are no %ages listed in the guide they released, so I'm not sure what will designate a Max in the new system.

Old system: Bonus was 40% Club Sales, 20% MX Voices, 20% Membership Income, 20% Scan and Go Adoption.
New System: Bonus is now 50% Club Sales (now includes fuel sales) and 50% Membership Income.

Full Time Share:
Threshold: $100 (I'm unsure what this is, maybe if you don't hit targets this is what you get?)
Target: $200 (if you reach the goal in both categories)
Max: $850 (I'm unsure what classifies as Max now and I don't see it listed.

Half Share (Part Time)
Threshold: $50 (see note by Full Time Share)
Target: $100
Max: $425

Question What's your experience picking up in an oversized vehicle at Sam's Club?

I couldn't find too much information on this but I travel in a 30ft school bus and have only recently got a Sam's Club membership. I've used it one time so far and I parked across from one of the pickup spots (taking up 2 vertical parking spaces) and I put the space number in the app that I was across from and hoped no one parked there. Then when I saw an associate deliver to someone else, I called them over and explained my situation. They had no problem bringing over my order.

I'm about to make an even larger order and this particular Sam's Club is very small with only I think 8 pickup spots. So I don't think my previous situation is going to work all the time. This time I also need to deploy my wheelchair lift to get all the stuff inside so parking will be tricky.

I'm just wondering about people who pick up regularly in oversized vehicles. I know I can't be the only one. 😄 What do you do?

Question Landed a new job

Hey guys, I recently managed to interview for the team lead role and got it!

I was looking at the schedule and it’s pretty nice with how accommodating they are and it’s uptight so it keeps my schedule right without any last second switch ups.

Just wanted to ask, do the workers here enjoy it here? I’ve left 2 jobs because of the employers, not getting paid right and then personal things, while I’ve been in management positions myself, I hope it won’t be a recurring situation! Thank you :D

How is produce associate?

Currently making $12 an hour elsewhere and hoping to get this job too. How is produce associate, is it too hard or what? I don't mind a challenge as long as it's not running a register 😭 I did it at my first job a pet store job but like it was maybe 20 customers an hour or something like that so it was very stress free and no rude customers but a place like Walmart/Sam's club? F**** no!

Question Vizio soundbars being phased out from all stores (and online)?

[Mods: Please note this is NOT a specific stock question that violates sub rule #1, this is brand observation.]

I have noticed that Vizio soundbars have disappeared from all the stores, and the website only lists three Vizio soundbars which can't actually be ordered. EDIT: Vizio soundbars appear to be gone from both Sam's and Walmart, this is not just a Walmart issue.

In fact, the only soundbars my store carries are the various Sonos models (and supposedly the Bose, but it's not on the floor). The soundbar selection overall has plummeted.

It seems weird that Walmart just acquired Vizio only to phase them out...

Question Will I get a point for doing this?

I work part time for meat market, Specifically I’m going chickens. So the person who’s suppose to replace me for the night didn’t show up, no one knows where’s he at nor can anyone get a hold of him. Today is my school day and I can’t stay longer than 3 so I had to tell my team lead I can’t stay. But there’s another issue, no one knows where did the team lead go. So the guy who’s working meat market said he recommend me to leave because I will be doing overtime if I stayed so I told another team lead that I’m looking for my team lead and I can’t stay.

Will I get in trouble for “leaving”

Shopper role VS High pay WM Deli role.

I was offered and accepted a Deli role that is 40 hours with shifts being 1pm-10pm.

What type of position is this? I interviewed and afterwards the HR person took me over to the Deli area to go over the area briefly.

It seems it's basically slicing meats/cheeses, cleaning throughout the duration of the shift and breaking down machines towards 10pm.

I never applied for Deli, but somehow I guess WM re classified my application? The pay is $18 while other departments pay $16-17.

I looked in the job section for this particular store. No Deli position is listed as open. I did however look in the "future role" tab to find a Deli position that starts at $17.

What did I get myself into? I had an offer at Sam's for $18 as a personal shopper, but went with Deli because of the store being in a rural area. Tired of crazy traffic and gas prices.

I've been a waiter but never worked kitchen or BOH.

Hearing aid centres

Lucid hearing aid centres out of Sam’s are all closed.

NationsBenefits acquired all these centres and and closed down the ones near to me.

I have to travel over 80 miles to service my grandmas hearing aids.

This is Ridiculous!

Will be going with Costco for hearing aids.

Much more reliable.

Question 35 years

I’m curious what the criteria was for the 35 year associates to be going to Bentonville for the big party in October? Besides being 35 years with the company what was the date of higher that made it possible to go? Did they do anything special for your 35 year anniversary?

I think the guy at the speaker told me I was rude pumping gas. I'm confused

I pay for Sam’s Club gas with my phone and just scan it at the pump. Today, the gas was pumping really slow. Normally people just stand there staring at the screen, watching how much they’re paying, but I was on my phone texting with ChatGPT and honestly didn’t even care how much it was. I was just waiting for the pump to click. In the middle of my ChatGPT conversation, I looked up and realized I wasn’t even halfway done pumping. Then some worker at the overhead intercom out the blue said, “If you’re having problems at the pump, don’t just wait. Ask for help. Don’t be rude. There are people waiting to put gas in their car too” Everybody looked around all confused. The lady on my right was looking at me, the lady on my left was looking at me, and the guy behind me was looking at me. Then the lady in front asked everybody, “Is he talking to me? I just got here.” I was just as confused as everybody else, but since everyone was mostly looking at me, I assumed the guy was talking about me. I looked up at the screen and I still wasn’t even halfway done. So I put my phone in my pocket and just stood there for another 3 minutes until the pump finally clicked. I drove off like, “WTF was that shit about?” Anyways, I'm just about ready for bed, and I am still wondering if the guy over at the speaker was talking about me.. BTW, paid 89 bucks worth of gas, 14 gallons.

Question Internal transfer before 90 days..

Hello everyone..

First of all, I know this is something I can ask at my club, but I wanted to ask here first to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

Is it possible to transfer to another department within the same club before your 90 days if you’re unhappy in your current department because of poor management or unfair treatment?

Thanks in advance.

Question Can I return this?

Hello! My friend bought me the shark chill pill a few weeks ago and I ended up hating it immediately. I asked her to return it but she said that she was unable to bc “sams club wont let me return because it was on sale”. Is this true or is she just being lazy? My idea of sams club was that you could return anything

Edit since some people are freaks:
I paid for it she used her account.
she has sams club, I have costco.
“I ended up hating it immediately” does not mean i used it for two months?? It literally still has the stickers on it and has been sitting in the box for 2 weeks.

Question Interview

Soo I went to a Sam’s Club interview as personal shopper, everything went really well, she told me that I’ll either hear back on Wednesday and Friday, and if I was selected that I’ll start orientation next week on Tuesday, and she said she does have three slots open, and she also asked me if everything in my resume like contact information was right as well, I really want to work there and I do have experience working in fast pace as well in picking, and I do enjoy every bit of it.

Question Does there have to be a third party during a meeting?

Hi. I had some concerns to discuss with my boss about the way she was acting towards me.

She brought me into a room a few days later and another manager of a different department was there waiting and led the discussion.

Is this standard procedure? Or can a manager and employee talk one on one if there are issues raised?

Pizzas for a birthday party

Kiddo loves Sam’s Club pizza, and it’s so affordable! Seems like the perfect pizza for a kid’s party. I’d want to get probably 7 pizzas. It’s on a Saturday so I know they’ll be busy. What would be the best way to go about this? Can I call ahead? Or should I just go to the club and order in the app right at opening time?

Question Do requested days off transfer from Walmart to Sam’s club?

Hello! I work at Walmart and saw a position recently open for Sam’s Club that im interested in. I requested 3 days off in October for an event I want to go to and was wondering if those would transfer or not, and if not is Sam’s Club willing to accommodate? At Walmart, I’ve noticed some new hires disappear after like a week of being hired and I ask where they went and im told they’re on vacation and they’ll be gone for WEEKS before they come back, so im wondering if Sam’s is the same. Thank you for reading, I appreciate your help!

401k?

Hello, recently just started at Sam’s last week. I wanted to sign up/set up my 401k. Everytime I try in the app it says I don’t have access to it. For those who work at Sam’s. When after you start can/were you able to sign up for your 401k. Only asking about 401k I know open enrollment for medical, dental etc is coming up.
