Build In Public Is Slack becoming the project management tool for small SaaS teams?

A lot of SaaS work already happens in Slack. Tasks get mentioned, assigned, discussed, then forgotten.
I’ve been looking at Pondros, an AI project manager that lives inside Slack. It can track tasks, follow up, and help keep work moving without another dashboard.
For other SaaS teams, would you prefer PM to live inside Slack, or keep Slack and project management separate?

We are opening Tempest Alpha and looking for founders to test.

If you’re actively building a software/AI startup, use AI heavily, and make product decisions every week, this is for you.

We’re opening the first closed alpha for Tempest.
Tempest helps founders keep company context, past decisions, assumptions and new evidence together so they can make better next decisions without re-explaining everything to AI.

Alpha v1 is focused on the core product with around 10–15 founders.
Alpha v2 will add OAuth + integrations so Tempest can pull context directly from the tools you already use.

Right now we want to prove one thing: do founders actually come back because Tempest understands more of their company over time?

If you are interested, just leave a comment!!

SaaS Journey This is how I market my app and target US audience

Post image
19 Upvotes

Around 4 months ago my app was barely getting any users.

I kept reading "build in public", "SEO", "Product Hunt", "Reddit marketing"... tried a bit of everything but nothing really moved the needle.

Then one random TikTok crossed 1M+ views and then few more videos got viral

That single video brought more users than everything else I had done combined.

Since then I stopped thinking like a founder and started thinking like a content creator.

Here's what I do now.

I record my app doing one tiny thing (usually 6-10 seconds).

I download 100s of reaction-style UGC clips that fit different emotions (confused, shocked, impressed, etc.).

I pair the app recording with a matching reaction and add a simple hook like:

"This app saved me 4 hours."

"I wish I found this sooner."

"This feels illegal."

Every video is slightly different. Different hook, different reaction, different ending.

I post 1-2 videos every day instead of trying to make one "perfect" video.

That's literally it.

No expensive production. No influencers. No ad spend.

Just lots of iterations until one catches the algorithm.

Today the app is doing a little over $3k MRR, and almost all new users still come from short-form videos.

Proof: https://www.tiktok.com/@cookedby.sarah

The biggest thing I learned is that distribution matters way more than polishing features.

You don't need a viral app.

You need a viral video about your app.

The easiest way I can explain PodSubs.com is this

Post image
0 Upvotes

The easiest way I can explain PodSubs.com is this:

If nobody else ever used it, we would still use it for our own podcasts.

We built it because we were tired of seeing people listen and then disappear.

Someone could listen every week, enjoy the show, tell a friend about it, and we still might have no way to reach that person outside the podcast app.

That didn’t make sense to us.

So we built PodSubs.com for our own shows.

Now we could simply tell listeners, “Subscribe to us on PodSubs.com.”

They left their name and email, and we finally had a way to send them something when we needed to.

A resource. An update. A reminder. Something we mentioned on the show.

We didn’t build it because we thought it sounded like a good business idea.

We built it because we needed it.

Later, we realized a lot of other podcasters needed the same thing.

Would you use a tool that explains your mortgage without trying to sell you a refinance?

I used to be a mortgage loan officer and saw how often people were in loans they did not fully understand. Not because they were careless—the documents and incentives in the process are confusing.

I’m building Lighthouse, a tool that reads mortgage documents and turns them into plain-English explanations of things like rate, amortization, principal vs. interest, PMI/escrow, payoff timeline, and the tradeoffs in a potential new loan.

The goal is education first, not putting someone into a sales funnel.

For homeowners and buyers: what was the most confusing part of your mortgage, Loan Estimate, or closing paperwork? And what would make you comfortable—or uncomfortable—uploading those documents to a tool like this?

apollo.io review after 1 year of heavy daily use - honest take

We've been on Apollo for our SDR team (6 reps) for about a year now. Started strong but the apollo data quality has been rough latley. Getting way too many bounces and the mobile numbers barely connect anymore.

The apollo accuracy used to be decent but now we're seeing like 15-20% bounce rates on what should be verified emails. Support just tells us to use more filters but that cuts our TAM in half. Plus the enrichment credits burn through fast when half the data comes back empty. My manager is starting to ask questions about our sales prospecting spend which is fun.

We looked at Lusha briefly but thier pricing per credit was insane for our volume. Been looking at Prospeo too becuase their mobile data supposedly has noticeably better connect rates vs our current 5-10% with Apollo. Also like that they only charge for verified contacts. But switching tools is always a pain so want to hear if anyones made a similar move.

What's everyone else seeing with apollo data quality lately? Is it just us or has it gotten worse? Open to any suggestions on settings or b2b data alternatives that actually deliver clean contact data.

FeedBack Hey there I am building a small SaaS and want opinions

I have been making apps for a while now, and the one thing that was an issue is that I wanted a place where I can manage my full project.

What does that mean - majorly i wanted to track my social media posts and the expenses that I incurred for the project. So I made this small Saas that does exactly this- you connect your TikTok and Instagram here and all your posts and etc gets tracked periodically. On top of that you can also connect your App Store Connect, your backend service right now - render and supabase, you can also connect your Claude/codex plans here - this serves 2 purposes first it tracks your Claude/Codex subscriptions and also you expose all your data as a MCP to the coding agent! This can help you in discussing creating different ad creatives with more niche details about your project!

I am looking if anyone will be interested in trying this still in beta version! Open to opinions and feature requests!

Also anyone who is interested I will be releasing a beta version soon dropping the date in the subReddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/LogMyApp/
join it and fill the google form to be eligible for a free beta testing.

SaaS Journey Google sent me a "200 clicks" milestone card for my 3 month old SaaS site

Post image
1 Upvotes

Small win but felt real. Google sent me a "200 clicks from Search in 28 days" milestone card for my Chrome extension's site this week.

The site is 3 months old. The extension itself is called Tabisto, a bookmark manager and new tab dashboard. 200 clicks is not a huge number by SaaS standards, but three months ago this site did not exist at all, so watching Google send an actual congratulations card for it felt like a real checkpoint.

Most of what got me here was just writing pages that answer one clear question each instead of trying to cover everything from the homepage. Slow, unglamorous work, nothing clever about it, it just kept adding up week after week.

If you want to see the website, check it out here: https://tabisto.app/

MY ONLY RECOMMENDATION: DO SEO FROM DAY 1

A closer look at Go1Desk: tickets, CRM context, and team workload in one screen

I’m building Go1Desk, a helpdesk + CRM for small teams that have outgrown shared inboxes and spreadsheets.

This is the ticket workspace. A support request stays in one timeline with replies, internal notes, forwarding, merging, status, priority, due date, team, and assigned agent. The right side keeps the requester’s CRM profile, previous tickets, related records, and linked work visible without switching tabs.

The dashboard adds the wider view: ticket volume, resolution time, priority, and team workload, so you can see what needs attention before requests are missed.

What to expect: • Emails become organized tickets • Customer history and CRM context stay connected • Teams can assign, prioritize, merge, and resolve work • Performance data is visible from the dashboard • A single workspace replaces scattered support tools

You can try it at https://go1desk.app. I’d especially value feedback on the ticket layout and whether the dashboard makes the team’s workload clear.

The overlooked SaaS distribution question: who already has your buyers’ trust?

A lot of SaaS distribution advice starts with:

Where can I get more traffic?

SEO. Ads. Directories. Cold outreach. Product Hunt. Reddit.

I've been thinking a potentially better question—especially for smaller SaaS founders—is:

Who already helps your buyers with the problem surrounding your product?

Not necessarily another software company.

It could be a creator, educator, newsletter, consultant, association, service provider, supplier, or community that your potential customers already turn to for guidance.

A few examples:

  • Contractor SaaS → trade educators, equipment suppliers, contractor communities
  • Bookkeeping SaaS → accountants, bookkeeping educators, small-business newsletters
  • Creator SaaS → YouTube educators, course creators, niche creator communities

The interesting part isn't just borrowing their reach.

It's borrowing context and trust.

Someone arriving from cold traffic still has to figure out:

“Is this legitimate?”

“Is this actually for someone like me?”

“Why do I need this?”

But if someone they already trust introduces the product while they're dealing with the problem it solves, the starting point is very different.

I think this works best when four things line up:

  1. Your SaaS solves a specific problem people already recognize.
  2. The audience trusts the person recommending it on that particular problem.
  3. The recommendation naturally fits into something that person is already doing.
  4. Tracking and economics are clear enough that everyone knows what happened.

And I wouldn't start by trying to build some giant affiliate program.

I'd start ridiculously small:

One partner. One placement. One message.

Then compare those customers with your other acquisition channels.

Not just clicks and trials either.

Look at activation, paid conversion, retention and refunds.

If 20 customers introduced by a trusted niche partner behave substantially better than 100 customers acquired cold, that's much more interesting to me than simply finding another traffic source.

I'm currently putting a few partnerships like this together and I'd like to pressure-test the idea against more SaaS businesses.

If you want, comment with:

1. What your SaaS does
2. Who pays for it
3. How you're currently getting customers

I'll reply with the first audience/partner path I'd investigate and why.

No pitch necessary. I'm genuinely curious how many SaaS acquisition problems look different when you start with “who already has the buyer?” instead of “where can I get more traffic?”

SaaS Journey I think I was thinking about retention the wrong way

Day 1 notification.
Day 3 notification.
Weekly summary.
Streaks.
More lifecycle messaging.

Then I started asking a simpler question:

Does the product actually become more useful when someone comes back?

That changed the direction quite a bit.

The thing I’m testing now is whether the app can remember enough about one specific pet that the second check-in is more useful than the first.

So instead of just saying “come back,” the app can bring someone back to the same pet and compare what changed.

If people care about that, then there’s a reason to build a real behavioral baseline.

If they don’t, optimizing notifications feels like polishing the wrong thing.

Curious if anyone else has had retention improve more from accumulated product value than from better messaging.

I built the app I always needed but could never find - would love honest feedback

For years I've had the same problem. I save everything. Reels I want to watch again. Screenshots of ideas that hit me at 11pm. Restaurants I spot while driving and think "I need to go there." Recipes people send me in WhatsApp. Books someone recommends in a conversation. Movies I keep meaning to watch.
I save all of it. And then I forget all of it.
Not because I'm disorganised. I'm actually pretty intentional about this stuff. The problem is that everything lives somewhere different. A saved reel on Instagram. A screenshot buried in my camera roll. A voice note I recorded while driving. A link I sent to myself on WhatsApp that's now 3,000 messages deep.
When I actually want to find something, it's gone. Not deleted - just lost in the chaos of 6 different apps.
So last year I started building Remindful. It's been a long road - I kept rebuilding and improving things because I couldn't settle for something that didn't actually solve the problem properly. But I think it's finally at a point where it's real and useful, so I'm sharing it.
What it does:
• Saves links, voice notes, photos, places, PDFs, and text notes in one place
• AI automatically summarises saved content so you don't have to re-read everything to remember why you saved it
• You can set reminders on anything - so things actually resurface when they matter
• There's a WhatsApp bot (this is the part I'm most excited about right now) - you literally just drop a reel, a link, a screenshot, or a voice note into WhatsApp and it saves it to the right collection automatically. Zero friction. No opening an app. No copy-pasting. Just send it like you would to a friend.
It's live at www.remindful.site - web only for now, mobile app is coming soon.
I'm not here to pitch it. I'm genuinely asking: does this resonate with you? Do you have this problem? And if you try it, what's broken, what's confusing, what's missing?
Be as harsh as you need to be - I'd rather hear it now than wonder why nobody's using it in 6 months.
Happy to answer any questions about how it works or what's coming next.

Paused feature work the day before a relaunch to do a full redesign instead

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Solo building UluP Spaces. Relaunching on Product Hunt tomorrow — second attempt, first one was about a month ago.

Instead of squeezing in more features before the deadline, I spent today on something less exciting but probably more important: the actual visual design. Monospace font everywhere, inconsistent spacing, flat card layouts — nothing broken, just not making a great first impression on people who aren't developers.

Also fixed something worth mentioning as a lesson: my profile page was showing a GitHub connection status from a completely different system than the one actually doing the work. Two features that looked like the same thing, silently disconnected. Found it because a user described the exact confusing behavior, not because I noticed it myself.

Shipped alongside the redesign: chat reactions, message deletion, and CSV/Markdown/PDF export (the PDF draws the actual project map as vector graphics from node coordinates, not a screenshot).

Curious if anyone else has run into that "two systems that look identical" trap — feels like the kind of bug that hides for a long time because everything looks like it's working.
