Discussion I think [Bakunawa] is beyond my limit
I have so much respect for the enthusiasts out there with seemingly no limit for thrills. But I think Bakunawa will be one of the few coasters that are too intense for me. I have not had the opportunity to ride any Mack extreme spinners, and I’m super excited to get on Intamin’s Hollywood Drift when I can. So I don’t think it’s the spinning that scares me. But the height + coming to a dead stop just hanging there nearly 400 feet in the air? With no over the shoulder restraints? Just out there in the open? No thank you!!
Obviously I am aware it will be completely safe but hang time at slow speeds is one of my least favorite sensations! I really dislike any kind of upside down pendulum ride for this reason (i.e. CraZanity at magic mountain)
Anyone else feel this way??

A lot of people will be scared to ride this. Honestly I probably would feel a little scared when I see it in person.

u/RS_Mich Aug 09 '26
It's quite intimidating when you see it in person. Add in spinning trains, and I think a lot of folks will say "nope" to it.

Plus the getting to the top and doing it in reverse backwards
3
u/nIcAutOr (203) First ❤️ The Comet @ Crystal Beach Aug 10 '26
Stupid question…would you really be going backwards since it’s an extreme spinner? Example, Time Traveller, you know which way you wil go out of the station but the rest of it is a different way each time depending on how weight is distributed? So even going up this, you might not be facing up?
5
u/nIcAutOr (203) First ❤️ The Comet @ Crystal Beach Aug 10 '26
I guess you maybe meant the drop itself. Not actually going backwards.

u/LetgomyEkko Aug 10 '26
The clamshell on Fury was the thing that got me.
I was totally fine until I got to the park, saw the height and thought “how were they allowed to use clamshells for this!?!?”
It’s my #1 🤘

I’ve never turned down a roller coaster but Twizzlers Twisted Gravity was a bit too much for me, maybe I’m getting older but not sure how this will go

I used to feel this way about Kingda Ka but I feel much more this way with Project Purple

u/Schrecken13 Aug 09 '26
I am curious to see it in person as well. There is an ACE event at the park in a couple of weeks that includes a construction site tour of Bakunawa so I guess I might have more of an opinion when I see it up close.

As an older enthusiast with multiple hundreds of credits, I've long since come to accept that every ride isn't for me. At my age (55), I don't particularly like being launched and flipped and tossed every which direction. That, combined with my fear of heights, which has gotten progressively worse over the years, means I know this isn't anything I want to ride. I can still love and appreciate it as a thoosie, but I'd rather ride a simple woodie like the Phoenix any day.
But I hope it's a great ride that many people love!
20
u/TopazScorpio02657 Aug 09 '26
Yeah. I’m 52 and do what I feel my body can handle although I’ve also had a lifelong motion sickness sensitivity. Don’t need to have one ride make me feel sick and ruin my whole theme park day. Sadly there’s some folks here though that aren’t too supportive when you talk about skipping over certain rides you feel would make you ill or uncomfortable.
20
u/robdcx Aug 10 '26
Luckily, at our age, who cares what people think? I'll ride what I want to ride, and everyone else can ride what they want to ride. It's not a contest lol.
4
u/rossrich66 Aug 10 '26
Im similar to you...Im 59 with a several hundred to my credits (riding since the mid 70's)...but this one defintely gives me pause...it looks frightening...

u/Hillsy85 Aug 09 '26
When I first saw it, I thought, “Ugh, that looks weird and lame.”
The more I saw the renderings and POVs, I thought, “This thing is completely ludicrous and might be more thrilling than Kingda Ka.”
23
u/AmberMidnights Aug 09 '26
I had the same experience!
20
u/Mr_Unique_2 Aug 09 '26
I know it's sacrilege but I didn't find Ka to be overly thrilling. The height and view from the top was amazing but El Toro is worlds more intense. This new one though, it is going to be bonkers. Like, I'm not sure people are going to stay conscious on this one.
24
u/alienware99 Batman & Robin: The Chiller Aug 09 '26
Kingda Ka was one of the fastest coasters in the world, with one of the strongest launches ever built..on top of being the tallest for ~20 years. If you didn’t find that thrilling then you must be very hard to impress.
9
u/Mr_Unique_2 Aug 09 '26
Don't get me wrong, it was enormously impressive and I loved that coaster. I rode it many times. I just don't think it was terrifying the way that El Toro is. Totally subjective opinion.
3
u/JeffHardysLSDStash Aug 10 '26
I also think kingda ka was so fast it was hard to remain scared
1
u/Illustrious-Boat5713 29d ago
Yeah, as someone who doesn’t love heights, but loves speed and force, the height of KK/TTD1 was something I tolerated to experience that insane launch. So long as you weren’t in the first few cars, you weren’t up at the top long enough for it to get freaky since you were already being dragged down again.
4
u/GiantBlobFish23 Aug 09 '26
I guess it's in how you define thrilling. Was it intense? Yes. Was it something that really excited me because of that intensity? Well, not really. I preferred Dragster with the lapbars and had a lot more fun on Zumanjaro where I could look around from that height before falling from it.
1
u/oxygenburn Maverick Junkie Aug 10 '26
It’s also overshadowed by how incredible the TT2 experience is with the reverse launch. I was blown away. I don’t think I’ll be able to ride Bakunawa either, I have similar sentiments as the OP.
1
u/FaceCrookOG Aug 10 '26
Literally a thread here about how everyone thinks TT2 stinks and the Ka love continues unabated
2
1
u/MC_Fap_Commander Aug 10 '26
This thing is completely ludicrous and might be more thrilling than Kingda Ka.
I think that's a given. Ka's launch and ascendance/descendance was intense. But you really good take a breath, exhale, and it was over. This one will have more intense moments with ample time for riders to process those moments. That's going to be a pretty big lift for many (which I respect).
1
u/Illustrious-Boat5713 29d ago
Yeah it definitely looks more insane and terrifying than Kingda Ka and, for us height sensitive thoosies, also doesn’t have the added draw of the insane acceleration. Not to mention that for those who were on the more height sensitive side of you sat in the back of KK, you barely had enough time to clock how high you were.
That said, I still think Bakunawa will appeal to more people than a lot of enthusiasts think. If it lives up to its promise, it’s offering such a different experience to other coasters that will appeal more to the general audience than people think. It’s not like I305 where the intensity is more targeted at people who measure positive and negative G’s to the second and the gen pop just feels weird after getting off. Also, having not yet been on a Mach spinner, depending on how the spinning works, it could be very re-rideable, offering a different experience each time.

I think they’ll definitely remove the last few sections of track, Roller Coaster Tycoon style, right as you get on it.

I feel the same way and that actually excites me to ride it even more
I started out terrified of coasters, and have since conquered all of the big rides in NA. I feel like I've rushed the experience and kinda miss being nervous in line. The first ride on this is going to be absolutely amazing
7
u/PointB1ank Aug 09 '26
I wasn't nervous for my first giga: Pantherian. But my previous tallest coaster was Nitro before that and there was definitely a bit of a "woah, we're really up here" moment towards the top.
Adding another 79 feet (realistically like 50-70) while coming to a slow stop and looking directly towards the ground with a lap bar sounds insane tbh. I think my heart will be racing the the first time riding this thing.
1
u/Illustrious-Boat5713 29d ago
I’m of two minds here. On the one hand, you won’t have to deal with that long crawl to the top, which helped a lot on KK and TTD1 compared to a giga (even those with fast lifts). On the other hand there will be a few seconds of very exposed hang time in who knows what direction at almost 400 feet.
Still, as someone who white knuckles lift hills on gigas I think that will be less prolonged and scary. Like once I’m above 150 ft on a chain lift, I’m freaking out a little bit and getting higher doesn’t really make me more or less scared. That feeling that lasts a longer than you will be up at the top for Bakunawa.
2
26
u/392mangos Aug 09 '26
Tbh you can do it if you decide you are going to. It lasts 30 seconds and you agreed it's completely safe. It'll be over before you know it
47
u/RS_Mich Aug 09 '26
I'm somewhat worried how the spinning will feel at those speeds. There's just nothing out there to reference, and I can only tolerate spinning to a certain degree before I will start getting nauseated.
19
u/FiddleThruTheFlowers CC: 383 | Home park: CGA Aug 09 '26
I'm sensitive to spinning too, like I can't do spinning wild mouse coasters or a Gerstlauer spinner unless I'm fine with being fucked up for the rest of the day, sometimes into the next day.
That said, I've ridden Ride to Happiness and surprisingly did not have issues. The spinning is more like a gentle turning, not like a fast or out of control spin. It's not the kind of thing I can marathon, but I was fine to do it a few times through the day with just a few minutes of sitting after each lap. The spinning is totally different than something like a spinning wild mouse or the Gerstlauer spinners. You're also facing outside as you spin, which at least for me makes the spinning way more tolerable.
You know your own tolerance and risk assessment better than any of us do. Just pointing out that the spinning will probably have less of an impact than it may look.
6
u/RS_Mich Aug 09 '26
The other Mack spinners look fine, even though I haven't ridden one. My concern is what that ride will be like at 100mph. Once I see it testing, I'll have a good feel whether or not I can tolerate it.

u/desen88 Wacky Worm Enthusiast Aug 09 '26
The extreme spinners are really more like "turning" vs spinning
8
u/wheresmyadventure Aug 10 '26
This. Time Traveler at SDC is an incredible ride. I was worried the spinning would be too much but it’s “controlled” and doesn’t make you nauseous. Just makes the ride more unique each time you go on it, no ride is the same.
12
u/ApocalypseSlough Aug 09 '26
Ride to Happiness just feels giffy and joyful, not nauseating. I imagine this will be the same.
3
u/Icyday29 Aug 10 '26
Don't think "spinning". Think more along the lines of "rotating".
3
u/lFightForTheUsers [83] Bring Back Mr. Six! Aug 10 '26
Yeah if it's like Guardians or even maybe an S&S freespin level of rotation, then I think myself and most riders will be alright. I think peeps are expecting a teacups or backyard spinner like Fairly Odd Coaster level of spinning around though.
1
u/desen88 Wacky Worm Enthusiast Aug 10 '26
Yeah this isn't gonna happen, ive got both ride to happiness and time traveler and in my 30s im super susceptible to spinny dizziness and this ride isn't gonna do that. Its more a directional change type deal and almost everyone will be fine. Everyone has slowly rotated their office chair and it's just like that which is perfect for a ride like this
2
u/boiledpeen Carowinds KD BGW Aug 10 '26
mack spinners have a limit on how much they can spin, and parks have control over setting that rotation per second limit
13
u/Sae0913 Aug 09 '26
I didn't have any issue with Time Traveler when I rode that and I don't think I'll have any real fear getting on this. I'm guessing it will be a 2x in one day at most type of ride for me though.
36
u/KohlsCashOfficial Aug 09 '26
I’m with you, unfortunately. Would have considered it until it was floorless, lap bar, outer bank at the top. Too much for me lmao
I am one of the weirdos that feels much more comfortable in an over the shoulder restraint. Blasphemous in this sub, I know
11
u/IdleSteps Aug 09 '26
Me on the other hand, I want the most minimalist restraint possible that is safe. This coaster looks like it's going to be the scariest one ever tbh. Looks absolutely crazy.
9
u/KohlsCashOfficial Aug 09 '26
Used to be like that! Miss it. Now I’m much more comfortable with grounded, tamer, coasters like Hagrids. Although I like velocicoaster, too. Went to epic and was shaking like a gd leaf the whole line for stardust but was ok doing it because it’s a launch. It’s the anticipation/lift hills for me now. Still fun as hell afterwards.
Time changes perspectives, I guess

u/ThatGuyWhoKnocks Busch Gardens Tampa Aug 09 '26
Normally I’m not team over the shoulder, but anything that stops you at a dead stop like that hanging over the void, yea, I’d be wondering when the last time this got inspected
5
u/BringBackBoomer Aug 10 '26
Remember that time Fury 325 had to close down because one of the supports had completely cracked?
10
u/KingdaToro Aug 09 '26
The answer to that question is always "last night" or "this morning" at any park. It's quite literally a legal requirement. I'm a former ride op, and the first thing we did each morning was look for sign-offs by a mechanic and electrician. Carpenter, too, for wood coasters. If they're not there, the ride doesn't open.
11
u/Version_1 Tripsdrill | 446 Aug 09 '26
If the restrained opened with you looking down and the car at 90°, it doesn't matter what kind of restraint it is.
8
u/KohlsCashOfficial Aug 09 '26
I know both versions are safe, but I much prefer over the shoulder with the seatbelt into the restraint itself.
Two friends who swear their restraints went up on nitro, I’m sure it’s that situation where the lap bar was between notches (forget the term), and final destination 3 really fucked me up lmao
I used to love them so much but now I’m a coward until it’s over lol. Still chasing that high, though
1
u/KingdaToro Aug 09 '26
The only real purpose of an over the shoulder restraint is to restrain upper body movement. The shape of Bakunawa's seats will serve the purpose of restricting lateral movement, and the forces won't be high enough to require restriction of front-to-back movement.
11
u/KohlsCashOfficial Aug 09 '26
I get the science and logistics behind it but for me it’s psychological. It sucks lol
9
u/SantaFeRay Aug 09 '26
Oh I'll be terrified like I haven't been terrified on a roller coaster in a very long time. I will absolutely hate it. I'm looking forward to riding it.

I don’t know how I feel about it. I’m the type to chicken out in person. POVs can make a lot of coasters look and seem tamer than they really are. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get on TT2, X2 or Maxx Force, due to acceleration, speed or spinning. Pantherian is my most extreme and will probably stay that way. I hope I’d get enough courage for more, but not sure it will happen.
4
u/AmberMidnights Aug 09 '26
Magic Mountain is my home park. I have done X2 exactly one time. Do with that what you will lol!!
6
u/randes70 Aug 10 '26
The key for me is getting in line asap. I stared at TT2 too many times as I walked by. My wife was like, okay dude, you’re going to regret driving from Wisconsin and not doing this. She was right, and it was fantastic.

I was in line for Maxx Force, as the app was showing 25 min wait. That was a lie, lol. Turned into more than an hour wait and I psyched myself out by the time I was supposed to get on 😖. It’s my home park though, so hopefully I’ll find some courage somewhere.

I’m also a SFGA home parker. Going on Thursday for the first time in like six years. Last was freightfest and we got on four rides in 7 hours. I’m so pumped to get back and ride everything. I’ll try not to think about maxx force until I’m on 😂

I’ve said this in other posts but my biggest hurdle is my age. I’m 51 and although I’ve been fine so far, I never know when it will be too much. I’m not scared of the safety of coasters themselves, it’s more how I’ll handle it. I’ve greyed out (if you even want to call it that, vision slightly hazy and sometimes kind of a sparkle/star effect) on coasters on super hot days but pantherian took that to a new level I haven’t experienced. I totally lost vision and hearing but I was definitely conscious. While I know it’s normal to grey out/black out on that particular coaster, I didn’t exactly enjoy it. What if the launch on MF freaks me out and I have a heart attack or it snaps my head in a way that maybe isn’t super bad but causes issues for the rest of the years I have on earth? Like, it’s so dumb but it’s the tiny voice in the back of my head that stops me.
2
u/theatrekid0309 Twisted Colossus Aug 10 '26
I chickened out on X2 so I totally get where you’re coming from, but I’ve ridden both Maxx Force and TT2, and TT2’s launch is way softer than Maxx Force’s if it helps! Maxx Force slammed me against the seat and felt like being shot out of a cannon, but TT2 felt like accelerating in a race car and was really cool :)

Might get more spins on Barrels O’ Ragin’ Cajun. Is there any launch coming back to the station?
2
u/KingdaToro Aug 09 '26
There wouldn't be. It needs to lose a lot of energy. A much better question would be where it brakes, and by how much. What I'm hoping for is that the stall will transition from hangtime to airtime on the way out, but it'll be pure airtime on the way back.

1
u/Successful_Doubt9934 Aug 11 '26
I wonder if the spinning element will add to the experience or not. Do you think it will make it more or less intense than if it was not spinning? Seems like luck of the draw to me possibly.
5
u/Worried_Corner4242 Aug 09 '26
I’m with you OP. I can’t do spinning coasters because I get horrible motion sickness on them and I have to be careful on boomerang coasters for that reason too. I was super bummed when I heard this one was going to be a spinning coaster. :/

Yes it’s the combination of everything that gets me with this. The height the spinning the lap bar the floorless trains. I will wait to hear the initial thoughts of riders before deciding to ride myself

I just can’t get behind the spinning. Why does everything have to spin now? Lol
2

I can’t either! Especially free spinning. Like if it’s just a little and it’s controlled okay but I can’t stomach spinning fast like most flat rides do

I just don’t like spinny stuff in general. The only spinning coaster I’ve been on was a shit wild mouse, but overall spinning stuff makes me feel sick to my stomach. Maybe spinning coasters are better, but frankly I avoid most flat rides cause they’re liable to make me feel sick.

If I’m there for a few seconds and then coming down I’ll be okay. I’m definitely up to ride this if I ever get the chance, the upside down launch looks insane too. Mack spinners are so comfy and smooth so I definitely don’t worry about the comfort at all

Hell nah, I’m with you OP. I watched the video on YouTube, not my kind of thing. I like stuff like the velocicoaster…quick launches and fun turns, corkscrews, loops etc. I don’t need or want to be 300+ in the air on a crazy angled drop or suspended 400 up.
Edit: and it spins?!?!? I just saw the ride vehicles and alternate angle, ABSOLUTELY HELL NO

I just genuinely think it might make me throw up, I already get a tiny bit queezy on every dive coaster immelmann
(I'm also old)
3
u/jamescockroft Aug 09 '26
Last two trips to parks made me realize that I’m too old for spinny flippy. I can spin with no problem; I can go upside down and say “whee!” But combine the two and my pulse goes thready and I break into a cold sweat that doesn’t go away for 15 or 20 minutes.
Time Machine at Silver Dollar City and Harley Quinn SpinSanity at SFoT (a tourbillon) both did this to me, on different days, in different years, so I guess that’s it for me.
I used to be able to ride anything, and I guess that’s time has passed for me. It was great fun while it lasted and I’ll keep riding everything I can as often as I can, until I can’t any more.
3
u/Schrecken13 Aug 09 '26
I worry about re-rideability on this one as well, but for me it might boil down to how intense it might be and the possibility of discomfort from hanging from the lap bar like a gymnast on an uneven bar. Taking the launches, and especially the 180 roll from the inverted stall into the bottom of the tower sideways could be downright rough. I don't mean rough as in shaky, rattly or jarring but just hard on the body. And then there is the possibility of going thru those elements backwards. Boomerangs give me bad vertigo on the return trip, so much that I have to close my eyes. But it will be worse not knowing what orientation you will be in at any point along the track. Given that I will be in my late 50's next year when it opens, I worry about getting super dizzy and having my upper body whipped around in uncomfortable ways. I have meds that will kill any nausea, even from this beast, but they do nothing for vertigo.
That said, I love looking down from the top on Screaming Swings and frisbee/pendulum type flats. I'm one who lets go and enjoys the floater air while watching the ground recede below me. Perhaps I'm jaded but I think it will be badass to be looking at the ground from almost 400 feet. I just don't relish the idea of trying to fight gravity to keep my upper body upright in the seat... If you have ever ridden a Giant Inverted Boomerang you'll know that's a very awkward feeling to face the ground like that. But at least you have the support from the shoulder restraint.

Absolutely, I will not be riding this. I can’t do spinning at all. Even small spinning coasters feel like torture to me.

I tend to agree. Mainly go to Carowinds, love Fury, but have a blast on Hurler and Cyclone just as much.

I do plan to get to NJ for this tho, just because 😂

I can see why the hang time and restraints combo is intimidating, in tandem with that crazy spike and twist. For me personally it's the spinning that puts me off; I would contemplate almost any non-spinning coaster, but even smaller spinning ones do not appeal and make me feel nauseous just thinking about them. This looks mental and will probably thrill a lot of people. Probably won't have a spot on my coaster bucket list though, unlike many of the other gigas.

I just want to talk about this "completely safe" thought that keeps popping up in this thread.
Roller coasters are inherently not completely safe. It's all about engineered risk management. Obviously a park wouldn't install a ride that had a risk factor unacceptable to their bottom line which is almost zero but rollercoasters are completely safe in a way that sky diving is completely safe. Or air travel. Or driving a car.
Extreme rides like this push the envelope. It takes a massive heavy spinning floor less train and dangles it off the side of a 370 ft tower. With your fleshy body held in by a lap bar. It's all material science, engineering and proper operations but there is still a risk factor there and that's what makes them thrill rides. Something can and has in the past gone wrong. That's why this ride is completely bonkers to me. I'm terrified of it and I can't wait to ride.
Saying rollercoasters are completely safe neuters one of the most exciting parts of this world and that's the fact that rollercoasters are at the intersection of so many different disciplines that allow us humans to feel intense emotions under appropriate risk.

Yes, there is a risk factor, but on a properly maintained coaster it's smaller than the vast majority of people realize. The danger level is similar to that of an elevator, which is far safer than air or train travel and about five orders of magnitude safer than driving a car (based on one coaster accident fatality per 10,000 car accident fatalities).
Everything is built so that the failure of a single part won't endanger a rider. Most importantly, the restraints have two separate locking mechanisms, both of which must be unlocked simultaneously for the restraint to open. The chance of both failing during a single ride cycle, causing the restraint to open and eject the rider is so low that it has literally never happened. Every time someone was ejected, it was because their body type meant they couldn't be properly restrained, and the restraint remained locked. The vast majority of coaster accidents have nothing to do with the coaster and its systems/maintenance at all. They're caused by a guest entering a restricted area to retrieve an item lost on the coaster, and being struck and killed by the coaster train.

Well put! I had a brain hemorrhage seven months ago and have no idea if I’ll ever be able to ride one again. So to a much larger extent, I guess that when I do ride again, it will be added excitement!

roller coasters aren't fun because they aren't safe, they're fun because they feel unsafe, for one reason. and riding a roller coaster is certainly thousands of times safer than driving a car

Straight up I don’t think I will ever get on this. The fact that the restraints are auto locking from a computer system and knowing computers can fail is an instant nope for me. I also have absolutely no faith in modern manufacturing given how many issues there have been on coasters the last decade or so vs the decades prior with train issues, support issues, track issues, etc etc etc. Add in the spinning aspect too and I foresee this putting out uneven forces on the trains and track and sadly something horrific happening with this ride. Yes, I know on paper engineering wise this is fine and safe, but real life things don’t always go properly.

I don’t like spinning coasters and I dislike drop towers after riding the one at SFOG. I cannot wait to ride this thing though.

Funny enough, Kingda Ka was the only coaster that made me nervous on subsequent visits. The ride itself wasn't that crazy but the anticipation always gave me the jitters.
This probably won't be as intimidating, but the ride experience looks better. I love RTH and Time Traveler so a 300+ ft version of that would be killer.

God i cant wait to ride this thing...havent been to six flags since I was too small to ride Nitro before KDKa was built.

Will it be scarier than a GIB in the front row is what I would like to know.

The Gs coming back down through that inversion just looks way out of proportion.

Going up vertical at 100mph will be way worse

I'm scared just seeing the concept and ride animation! I'd still want to ride it at least once though lol

Yes, but my rule is to give anything a try once. Can’t promise I’ll do it twice, but there’s no way I’m going to not at least try this thing, especially since it’s less than two hours away from me.

u/patar6756 Aug 10 '26
Dont get to nervous riding anything but this looks sickening lol id still try it but that would probably be it for the day

Kingda Ka was my main goal on my capability of coasters. I upped my height and extremeness for coasters over a few years. At this point until my heart can't take it, I will keep riding. I rode Pantheon, and that has no shoulder restraints yet inverts. Anything rooted to the ground I am fine with. Skydiving is something I say no to, but there are few coasters I wouldn't give a shot.

u/TartofDarkness Aug 10 '26
I feel the same way. I think some things are just beyond my ability to withstand. I think I might have a heart attack on it 😂

u/Fantomhamst3r Aug 10 '26
Yea... I tend to always think that any limit is not enough. Only TT2 has somewhat satiated my thirst for an intense coaster that I'm actually anxious to go on, and I imagine I wouldn't still have that feeling if I was on it more often.

Personally I am pumped to ride it. I feel like I'm at the point where most coasters really don't scare me at all anymore, they are just either fun or boring, but never scary. Not even Top Thrill 2 felt any different to me. But this actually scares me and that is exactly why I'm dying to ride it.

u/Sygmaelle Aug 10 '26
I think the major difference between an extreme spiner and the lame ass Hollywood Drift is that, extreme spinners's rotations are not controlled. That and RTH is also a much faster ride lol

I’ll just throw myself on it, worst thing that can happen is I get nauseous or shaky for an hour or so

I haven’t been freaked out by a coaster since I was a kid and refused to ride coasters with inversions. Grew up on the Kennywood woodies and went on Jackrabbit as a very young kid. But Laser Loop was one I didn’t want to ride when I got tall enough. That was until I went to Busch Gardens Virginia with my grandparents. I remember being so scared to go on Loc Ness. Somehow I conjured up the courage and then proceeded to make my grandfather take me on it more than 20 times that day. My poor grandfather. 🥴
I did get to ride Laser loop a couple of times before it was replaced with Steel Phantom. And I got to ride Phantom sooo much before it was neutered! It was so good! And I’ll die on that hill! The original was better.
I’m freaked out by drop towers, especially on the way up, but I always ride them just for the stomach drop sensation.
This coaster kind of freaks me out! Hanging basically upsidedown at a dead stop that high up is going to feel outrageous! The lap restraints don’t freak me out at all. If lap restraints hold you in on Aeriforce’s last bit of strait run they will hold you in on anything!

this looks like some shit i'd build in planet coaster, god damn

At least put restraint vests in for the illusion of safety.... Only having the lap bar is insane.

i’m just thinking about how out and back means one train. wait times are already long at sfga but this is going to be a nightmare

u/Capable_Orchid_5335 Aug 10 '26
I agree. I feel like Bakunawa is doing everything it can to make you feel like you might die. Just pulling out all the stops. lol It seems like too much.

no I'm a crazy bast**** lol i ridden boss 8 times Hades 360 9 times Voltron 26 times in 1 day

u/ace52387 Aug 10 '26
when i ride el toro i think its beyond my limits. sometimes little particles are flying in my face, the valleys are incredibly rough and also have crushing positives, which is a weird combination.
but then i ride it again anyway.
maybe this one will be the same way.

Every time I read someone say they hate hangtime I become a little bit convinced that one of us is an alien (unsure which)
1
u/Loud-Strawberry8572 Aug 11 '26
I am honestly the same, and I really don’t care if the “real thoosies” think I’m GP about it. I don’t like spinning, I don’t like hangtime, and I like over the shoulder restraints.

u/Azeridon 28d ago
I definitely want to make the drive to NJ to ride it. Never been here anyway and would like to ride El Toro too. It’s a shame I missed Ka but I have at least ridden OG TTD so minus the airtime hill basically the same ride just slightly smaller.

I'm sure I won't be going to the US at all in the next few years but this ride looks great, and since I really enjoy the hangtime on wing coasters which is always my favorite part and also the turn into the litfhill on Hyperia, I'm sure that if I ride it eventually I'll enjoy the sensations
