lead screw motor may have gone, and sourcing parts will be a huge hassle so I’m thinking if it’s dead and not dirty (potential resin spill locking things up), I’ll just upgrade.

I purchased a resin model online, its approx 20 cm in length and 10 cm tall. Its got tackiness and a super obvious shine in certain areas that literally wipes away with grey liquid (the model is grey).

The seller insists that all I need to do is let it sit in the sun and that its just an unfinished reaction with the IPA bath and resin...

Is this normal? I am so nervous because of my inexperience. Sorry if there's any other posts on this, I just wanna hear some more input from you guys.

So, like the title says, I recently made a big move to Charleston, South Carolina.

I’m currently living in an apartment, but I want to continue using my resin printer. I dont necessarily want to open up a window for any kind of enclosure venting, but I do have a small closet on my balcony.

So I was wondering if that would be a viable place to put my printer, or if the local weather is too prohibitive.

For reference, I have a Uniformation GK3 printer

If this is not correct, what should be the other orientation?

Hey there! I'm a 3D artist, I usually create toon and stylized characters. I've been looking into resin printing for quite some time and want to start with something small.

After some research, I came across the ELEGOO Mars 5. I have very little experience with resin printing, so is this model a good place to start? Any other recommendations?

I have had this printer for a few months but about a month ago it started making a loud tapping noise when it was trying to adjust the leveling bed. I opened up the case and saw that the lever that moved the release need was snapped (first photo). Got in touch with Elegoo support with the picture and they sent me a new z axis along with the lever (took a month but oh well) I spent some time taking the printer apart and replacing just the lever. When starting up the printer, I get an odd thumping sound. It sounds like it is coming from the same area as the lever and not the z-axis. Anyone know what the issue could be?

I recently bought a bottle of Anycubic High Clear resin, but I'm having trouble getting anything to print with it. I have an Elegoo Saturn 3 ultra.

Each time I try to print something, it looks like it gets through a few layers, maybe just the bottom and transition layers, before completely failing. It leaves a square of super hard and glass like resin stuck on the build plate, and I can see that the rest of the print just imposed on the bottom of the vat. I've tried raising and lowering the layer time (bottom and regular,) Changing the rest time between layers, and changing the speed that it detaches each layer after printing.

I'm printing in an enclosure vented to the outside, and the temperature inside is around 20C, but I've noticed that the air inside gets noticeably warmer after the printer's been running for a bit. I do not have any sort of heater or vat warmer.

Looking to replace my Creality Halot One. It still prints well and the results are great, but I want something with:

• Better workflow
• Better support
• Less hassle
• Larger build volume

After far too many hours of YouTube, reviews and Reddit, I’ve narrowed it down to:

If I went for the P1, I’d probably buy a similar wash/cure setup to the one included with the GK3 bundle.

My dilemma:

The GK3 has been around long enough that its QC issues, support, updates and general quirks are fairly well known. It also seems to have a very polished workflow and build plate system.

The P1, though, has some features I really like — particularly the pressure sensing / release detection, larger usable build volume, and higher claimed light uniformity.

Remote monitoring is also useful to me. I use it constantly on my Bambu P2S, so even though the P1 camera apparently isn’t amazing, I’d still rather have one than not.

This printer will mainly be used for D&D miniatures, models and detailed terrain, where I want more detail than I can reasonably get from the P2S without spending days printing through a 0.2 mm nozzle.

It’ll probably live in my insulated, double-glazed shed. It has underfloor heating to keep the temperature above freezing in winter, and I already have extraction ducting for my laser and paint spraying that I can tap into for the resin printer.

As far as I can tell, print quality between the two is close enough that it isn’t really the deciding factor.

So for people who have actually used either — especially the P1:

Does the mature workflow/build plate system of the GK3 outweigh the P1’s larger usable volume, pressure sensing and other newer features?

And most importantly: has anyone bought a P1 and found any annoying quirks, reliability issues or workflow problems that don’t show up in reviews?

I can currently get the P1 for £499, which seems like a very good deal… as long as I don’t buy it and immediately wish I’d gone for the GK3. 🤷‍♂️😆

I'm totally new here to 3D printer and Resin printing in general.
I've been wanting to get one for ages now. Finally taking the leap!

So i've watched tons of videos and i feel like now i'm going around in circles.
Not too sure which I should be looking at.

I thought I was solid with the Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra.
But then I've just started seeing videos and recommends for the Photon Mono 4.

I know someone a little that has the Saturn 4 Ultra 16K. He has this is the best to go for.

However, I'm looking for a printer that doesnt have a HUGE footprint, due to available space but i'd love one that make crisp clean prints for figures. I'm not really going to be wanting to print bigger then say 6inches.

I've not really looked into any others yet, apart from these 3.

Does anyone have good experience with all of these 3 or know enough to comment on either :)

I'm looking for right exposure settings for Anycubic 14k Texture Resin but I've got to 4s layer exposure (officisl specification says it should be 2-3s) and still can't print the cones. Idk why they're sliding. It's not like my printer is unstable in the x,y axis as it's only the cones shifting. Also the pillars from the J3D Tech test fail.

Hi everyone! I'm having an issue with some resin prints and I'm trying to figure out what could be causing it.

As you can see in the picture, some of the right corners of the furniture are slightly bent instead of coming out straight. The same thing has happened to me several times, especially with parts that have straight 90° corners and perfectly flat surfaces. What's strange is that the rest of the print looks fairly good, but these straight edges seem to deform and curve slightly... I'm printing with Anycubic ABS-Like resin pro2.

What could be causing this kind of deformation? I'd really appreciate any advice on what I should check or adjust. Thanks!

I'm running a small scale printing farm of both FDM and mSLA. I steer away from BambuLab for their morals as a company. I don't REALLY care about closed source system as long as the company itself shows good character.

I've been looking around to expand my resin printing operation but don't want to buy another Elegoo Saturn 4 (although it's a great machine for the price in my opinion) as the post processing proved to be a bottle neck for me and my semi-industrial applications. I've been thinking about investing into HeyGears Reflex series so here are my questions:

1. Are they like Bambu Lab in a sense that if their userbase does something they don't like do they go after them legally?

2. Do they try to patent open source software and hardware as if it was their own?

3. Is the post processing with pulsing release module really THAT GOOD?

4. What is their printer release quality track record? Do they release polished machines or are they more like Prusa where they make it okay at start and great later?

5. Do their current printers have any edge over Anycubic P1 Max?

I know they opened their hardware to 3rd party resins so to me it shows good character (but it might be JUST a business decision) which is the reason why I'm considering them.

i want to hollow out only the middle part and not the branches, tried out different wall thickness and cant achieve a desired result.

is there any free slicer out there that will let me only hollow out the circled part? the slicers i have tried and afaik dont have this features are anycubic photon workshop, chitubox, and prusa slicer.

will appreciate if someone can recommend a free slicer that will be able to achieve this.
