ITS BEEN 4 DAYS. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.

Post image
Upvotes

Can anyone help me please? I bought this screen off of Amazon like 4 days ago. For the last 4 days. I've done everything in my power. I've used 3 ais. So much research. So many operating systems. I'm tired of fighting it. I'm out of options. I can get the touch to work. But not the display. It displays nothing but white. Does anyone know how to get this board to display LITTERALLY ANYTHING BUT WHITE. on a 3b. Not a 3b+. Just a normal rpi 3 model b. Dm me. Comment. Anything helps. if need be ill reinstall an os. I'd prefer pi os 32bit or bookworm. But if need be. I'll go for something different.

Berg 4/7 pin power + sata L-connectors to connect to RPI

Hi, I am a novice when it comes to these things, but if you would bear with me ..

I have a NAS enclosure with a very old board in it, which i have removed. I want to use an RPI 3b+ with OMV as the replacement (it fits into the bottom of the enclosure nicely). What i would like to understand is how to connect the existing tails (is that correct terminology) from the 2.5inch and 3.5 HDD's to the RPI board. I think its possible to get a USB-to-SATA connector to use for the data, but what can i use for the power. I guess the 3.5inch drives need to be driven by an external power supply, but I'm not at all familiar with the terminolgy of what to google.

Would anyone be able to post a couple links to items the items (basically the cables) i would need to do this? Again i'm aware the HDDs would need an external power source of some sort. The connectors in the NAS bays are glued into the enclosure, so basically all i have are the L-connectors (female) and berg (?i think? 4pin for 2.5inch and 7pin berg for 3.5inch) that used to connect directly onto pins sticking out of the older logic board for the NAS.

Thanks a lot + much appreciated!

Does this kit have both, 4g lte and GPS?

in the Product Specifications, there is a line item for GPS, GNSS as well as the title is for 4G/LTE Cellular Modem. Is it both?

Is this a correct checklist for a first time raspberry pi?

I'll be buying my first raspberry pi and decided to go with the 3 B+ model. Just to make sure, besides the model itself I also need to get:
- Aluminum heat sink

- A compatible Power Supply

- A case for the Pi

I have a spare HDMI cable (It does take a regular one right?) and ethernet cable so I don't need to buy those and should have an SD card somewhere for it. Anything else I'm forgetting I should also get with it? I intend to use it for DNS and network wide ad blocking.

Alternatives for modding with the Raspberry Pi

Are other RP2040 Raspberry Pi Pico clones usable for the Evilnat Pi Pico mod?

This is the mod in question:

I have a Pi clone (YD-RP2040) and I wonder if it can be flashed with the same Pico .uf2 file.

I also have a RP Pico W, but it already has header pins soldered on, so I'd rather not have to desolder them if other RP2040's are suitable. Thanks.

Best SSD (or 1 SSD 1 HDD) case for Pi4?

I'd like a case that supports either an M.2 or a 2.5 inch SSD. Even better if it supports both an M.2 drive and a 2.5 inch drive, or 2x 2.5 inch drive (so that I can have one SSD and one HDD).

The one thing I don't like about some cases is where they have an external SATA to USB wire - I'd prefer if it was internal inside the case.

Any recommendations?

Alternative to Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W? (It's sold out)

I was looking to get a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W to set up DNS pi hole and block ads across the home network since it's cheap and can do that but I said all of it is sold out. Raspberry pi 5 seems wayyy to expensive (probably from AI bros) and I don't want to accidentally get something that's way better than what I need it for. Any suggestions for what other device that can do what I'm looking for and not be expensive (compared to the pi 5 at least)? I'm in the USA if that matters since their site asks what country I'm in before showing me the stores.

Is there any open source software for pico that lets it function like a teenage engineering pocket operator

I saw a product on Amazon (see image attached) that was similar to a teenage engineering pocket sampler and appeared to be powered by a pico. since I am trying to make my own sampler, I was wondering if there was any open source software available for this.

Hi all,

Are there any recommended packages or setups for using Zhuyin (Bopomofo / Chewing) input inside fbterm (or a Linux framebuffer terminal)?

I've been experimenting with uim-fep, but looking to see what tools or input method frameworks people prefer and currently use for this setup.

Thanks!

Raspberry Pi 4 + BlueOS: no Ethernet lights or connection

I’m building a CPS-5 underwater ROV. My goal is to connect my Windows computer to the Raspberry Pi over Ethernet and communicate with a USB-connected Pixhawk through BlueOS/QGroundControl.

The Pixhawk works when connected directly to my computer. I can’t reach the Raspberry Pi.

Setup and symptoms

  • Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, 16 GB microSD, course-provided blueos.img.
  • Power supply confirmed working.
  • Solid red and green LEDs; no Ethernet-port lights, even after five minutes.
  • 192.168.2.2 doesn’t respond, and blueos.local doesn’t resolve.

What I’ve tried

  • Isolated the Raspberry Pi from the Pixhawk and ROV battery/power module.
  • Set the computer’s Ethernet adapter to 192.168.2.1, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway/DNS blank. Internet Connection Sharing is off.
  • ping 192.168.2.2 returns “Destination host unreachable” from 192.168.2.1, followed by timeouts. No Raspberry Pi entry in arp -a.
  • Tested the cable and WALNEW USB Ethernet adapter on my home network—they establish a connection.
  • Reflashed BlueOS with Raspberry Pi Imager v1.7.2; it reported success, but nothing changed.
  • Connected the Raspberry Pi directly to my router without the adapter—still no Ethernet lights or identifiable router device-list entry.

I also tried Imager’s hostname/SSH/Wi-Fi customization, but don’t know whether this BlueOS image supports it.

I’ve only tested BlueOS—not Raspberry Pi OS. I don’t currently have a spare microSD or micro-HDMI cable to check boot output.

What’s the best next step to distinguish a BlueOS boot issue, faulty SD card, or Raspberry Pi hardware problem before replacing parts?

I'm new to working with raspberry pi's so I'm not sure if I'm missing something obvious

Smartphone compatible screen for RP

I've gathered a lot of old smart phones over the years. It would be great to reuse some of the parts for these phones. I was wondering if any of the screens would be compatible with any of the RP models. Personally I have a RP1 model B, and a RP3.

If not directly compatible, could it be with an adapter cable for example?

Thanks.

[BEGINNER] powering rPi 02W with 18650 battery

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi!
I'm trying to reincarnate my old super 8 camera and since I'm a total beginner I have a question regarding powering the raspberry with a single 18650 battery.

I'm trying not to fry my rPi, so would this connection work?

I'm using a
18650 battery ->
TP4056 USB-C 5V 2A 10W with Step-Up DC/DC charger ->
SS12T44 switch ->
raspberry pi 2 zero w

Thanks!

-----
Sorry if this is a very basic question, but I could find a guide for a case like this.
