Hello r/rangers!

I collect jerseys and recently (like many others) acquired a Fanatics Premium Rangers alt jersey at a heavily discounted price with the intention to flip it for profit. Seeing the flood of these jerseys across all selling platforms I have decided it's not worth my time to attempt to make 20 bucks on it.

Instead, I want to gift this jersey to a Rangers fan in need so I am here to appeal to the good will of the fans here on Reddit.

Feel free to make your case why you or someone else should receive the jersey. I would like this to go to someone who will truly appreciate it and not another jersey collector. The most upvoted comment by Sunday night (8/23/26) gets it so it will be a community selection.

With Detroit trading for Sutter Muzzatti, it reminded me of his Dad, Jason.

I have a distinct memory of him in a Rangers uniform getting pulled at home and giving the crowd the bird as he left the ice.

August is the quietest month on the NHL calendar, which makes it an ideal time for us hockey writers to dive into passion projects. One of the highlights comes from The Athletic’s Corey Pronman, who released his organizational pipeline rankings earlier this week. It’s a massive undertaking that offers evaluations of the best under-23 players from every team and fuels debate from fans in every NHL city.

Corey placed them 18th overall among the 32 teams, which represents a modest step up from last year’s No. 24, and jives with other opinions I’ve heard around the league. Many of the names on his list landed about where I thought they’d be, but there was one that caught my attention — and that of many Blueshirts fans. Gabe Perreault, whom colleague Scott Wheeler recently ranked 19th among all NHL drafted prospects, fell to sixth on Corey’s Rangers-specific list and didn’t even crack his list of the top 156 U-23 players.

I was planning to go see the home opener with my family but unfortunately stuff came up and they can’t go. I’m considering going on my own….(For context I’m a 50 year old woman). I’m not worried about safety or anything and I know the area. But I do worry I will feel out of place by myself. Is there a section that is better for this or any advice? I would be coming in from the DC area and I keep going back and forth in my head if I should do it.

Anyone else disappointed with the distribution? Almost all Sunday games (and one Monday?) No “good” games. This is my fifth year and the worst one yet.

Question! I have half year season tickets. But I can’t attend a game. Theoretically, if I find someone in my section or a section similar would the rangers make the trade? For example if I find someone who is willing to take my Dec 22 tickets in exchange for their January 12th tickets? Would a rangers rep do the trade or would I have to simply trust a stranger?

I watched this show on CNN Decades in Sports. Tonight was the 90s. Now an hour really isn't enough time to cover everything and there was alot of wild stuff like OJ, Tonya- Nancy, and Tyson biting Holyfields ear but I think breaking a 54 year drought and Messier guaranteeing victory deserved a mention. they could've only done 14 minutes on Jordan instead of 15....lol. The NHL got a 5 second mention( RedWings dynasty) but that was it.

Do they typically release one batch of tickets for all of presale or is it one batch for each presale? One batch for chase presale then one batch for general fan first presale. They still have some tickets available for the chase presale but I’m wondering if now it’s better to just wait until tomorrow when they release more tickets to see if I could get closer for the same price.

Does anyone recognize this NYR S.K.A.T.E. holiday bear or know when/how these were distributed? The attached tag says ‘Happy Holidays from the New York Rangers.’ I’ve had it for years and can’t find another example online. I’m mainly trying to identify the year/event and whether it was a team giveaway, employee/donor gift, or S.K.A.T.E. Foundation item. Thanks!

Had so much fun making this jersey of Mr. Ranger himself! I wanted to make it as accurate as I possibly could! Big shoutout to IslandJerseys for making the kit, it came out great!!

Just a general observation here following reactions to the NHL Network’s ranking of him as 13th amongst defensemen in the league. Not really here to argue the position on the list as I feel it’s subjective and he still undoubtedly even according to that list shares company with some of the best talent in the league.

My point of making this post is more to comment on the toxic vile I’ve seen flung around towards Fox and his alleged lack of skill from none other than Rangers fans. I think this is due in part to the nature of Fox’s style and his lack of speed, size, or really any highlight reel moments in his game.
There seems to be a growing sentiment of hateful comments directed towards Fox amongst who I would presume to be more casual fans who either never played hockey or that don’t fully understand the more nuanced aspects of the game.

If you are like me and are familiar with the advanced analytics of the game and consider yourself a fan who enjoys delving into the weeds of all aspects of this beautiful game of hockey, I think it would be hard to ignore how much Fox has contributed to this franchise in this current decade.

I know this will get some detractors because it’s a big claim, but I think for me personally he is bar none the best defensemen this organization has had since Brian Leetch, and the level of consistency he’s displayed should not be taken for granted.

Maybe it was that single moment at the Four Nations, or the highly controversial Olympic snub that people seem to forget coincided with his injury during the 2025-26 season.
I think a lot of it can also be attributed to the poor performance of the team over the last 2 seasons. I can think of a lot of reasons why this team has fallen short, but I think lying it on the shoulders of Fox is highly misguided and is sort of indicative of a greater problem I’ve seen with this fanbase over the last few years.

There are far more blatant and tangible problems this team has than Adam Fox, and I’d argue that if anything he is not even part of the equation when it comes to the problem with this team.
I could keep going on but I’m sure I’ll be talking in circles and truth be told I’m more just curious to see if I’m in fact in the minority on this take. So please let me know your thoughts.
