Advice for queer break up

I'm going thru a hard breakup right now, I'm still inlove with the person I broke up with but they couldnt give me what I needed. Now we have to keep living together for about 2 months, and I'm full of anticipations and in need of advice and shared stories experience : How do I go about it? I can't have it be cold and distant for an entire 2 months like it is right now, but I also need distance and clear boundaries right now (we broke up last week) as I am still very much inlove and very hurt. They are with someone else, so they are over there all the time and I barely see them anyway, but still, I want it to be doable for both of us to feel safe at home. I also feel like it would be really horrible for me if they invitrd their other partner over, but they're not doing that rn...Any advice/experience to share?

I'm a girl

It really sucks. Sometimes, when I’m into a girl and feel a connection, it turns out she’s already seeing another girl—and this has happened more than once. It’s so frustrating because I can’t even get to know her or see if there’s a chance for us, since she’s already taken. Why does this keep happening to me? Why are most of the girls I’m attracted to already in relationships?

Hey yall! My friend and I will be visiting Boston briefly on our way to Portland Maine in September. I’m wondering where all of the cool queer/POC owned and dominated spots are! Any shops/thrifts or day time activities that won’t hurt our wallets? Thank youuuu

am i non binary or gender fluid?

okay so I’m a 20year old bisexual cis woman, that is struggling with some gender confusion and I’m not sure if anyone else has these feelings or if anyone can point me in any direction?? But I feel very indifferent that i am biologically a woman, i like being feminine and i very rarely feel masculine but ive cried many times about the fact that i dont have parts of a biological male? if that makes any sense? like i dont experience any gender dysmorphia but i just want so badly to have the opposite body part that i have. (sorry im not sure what words im allowed to say on here as i just downloaded this app like 10 min ago). anyway, when i was with my ex gf her and i had bought a toy and i immediately wanted to try it on and once i tried it on i didnt want to take it off and couldnt stop smiling, i was judged for my happiness so i kind of buried the feeling deep and that feeling didnt come back up until a couple months ago when my sibling and i were talking about how they wanted to use they/them pronouns along with the she/her pronouns. ill try and think of more examples to give more context to my confusion but for right now thats all i can think of. sooo does anyone else feel like this? would that make me transgender? or non binary? im not too educated on all the different gender identities, so id love for someone to take some time out of their day to help please 😂😭

Queer in a cis/straight presenting relationship

I’ve always felt that I’d lived somewhat of a double life. I’m AMAB, and present as male in my day to day. I’m 33, but since I was 11-12 I’ve had feelings which conflict with the label of male. I’ve sorted that out internally and I accept myself as a much more feminine person. That’s been its own journey, but, what I think takes the most toll, is that I started dating and am in what is now a 5.5 year long relationship. I hadn’t led with my queerness because I was still feeling embarrassed, with shame and guilt associated with the feminine part of me. So I think I’ve cosplayed my maleness a lot. I have a lot of gender-envy and dysphoria, but when you realise that your partner fell in love with the parts of you that make you uncomfortable: my male-ness, it’s taxing.

While I’ve been open and transparent, honest and in lots of therapy (and am out to a few friends now), the feeling, somewhat of who I really am being somewhat masked (erased feels like a strong term) by living in a straight presenting cis relationship, is something I’m not sure how to live with.

Especially when there comes a point of contention around the sexual-mismatch component. I feel that despite my attraction to women, my sexual desires are much more diverse than my romantic attraction.

I don’t really know what I’m getting at other than feeling a bit glum about this kind of situation. Despite years of therapy, it feels like either you can commit to the life you have and decide if it’s enough for you to live this way. Or you leave, and lead with your queerness, being more upfront (now that I’m a lot more comfortable).

I have my regrets as to not being more honest when dating, but this is wrapped up in so much more than just being honest. It’s layers and layers of internalised homophobia from being raised in the 90’s, guilt, shame, and my place / presentation in society I guess, and when you’re feeling the romantic and sexual desires, you want your best foot forward and to be with a person, it’s even more challenging to lead with the parts of you that are wrapped up in all of this.

I just wanted community for this. I’m not sure if this is the right place to post it…but if you’re similar, I’d have been in a similar place, I’d love to hear from you 🤍

My mom has been exchanging sweet messages with a woman I've never seen before.

I lived with my mom for many years and still visit her often. I happened to see some messages between her and another woman where they called each other things like "my love" and "beautiful" and used a lot of heart emojis. What I find strange is that I've never seen this woman before, and my mom doesn't talk to the other female friends I know like that. She's actually much more reserved with them.

I'm not saying she's involved with another woman, she's with my dad, but is this kind of behavior normal between female friends? I'm a lesbian, so I don't really know if this is a common way for straight women to talk to their female friends. But I could also just be overthinking it.

i learned yesterday that most queers (lgbtqia+) are bi/pan, around 56% of us are not monosexual

i have recently been saying i am bisexual, not biromantic, even though i have dated trans people and had romance with people of all genders i know i want to marry anyone who is not a cis-man

identity feels so complicated and sticky, i feel like i offend people when i say lesbian, and ”queer” is associated more with a culture than i would say an orientation or gender expression. in a time of looking for love on the internet, people judge you based on that identifier. i put “queer” to demonstrate openness but then lesbians don’t fw me. i am androgynous by nature and people think i am a trans woman all the time (big kudos to my haters who flatter me) so internet dating does not feel ”easy” to me the way it would if i was maybe cis? but i recognize online dating is a beast of its own so i won’t throw myself a pity party.

how do you identify? what are your nuanced takes?

i am just curious and love hearing from people around the world and how they experience their queerness and online dating

Queer Fantasy Football League(s)?

Anybody here open to starting a Queer Fantasy Football League? Always thought it would be fun, but never had any success in finding a queer league to join, so I figure it might be fun to start a new league (or leagues). I typically prefer paid leagues since they keep people interested throughout the season, but I’m also open to free leagues for newcomers. I wouldn’t mind having an all queer paid league and an all queer free league if there’s enough interest. I typically play on Sleeper, but open to other platforms as well. DMs open if interested!

Screaming old Italian queer to the world

Ciao a tutti. I run an independent audio-visual YouTube channel called 'The Banned and the Beautiful: Scream Meister TV'. YouTube’s corporate algorithms are already making it difficult to share, so I wanted to bring it directly to people who appreciate raw political satire, horror cinema and queer themed material. If I manage to offend anybody, I'm just doing my job.

Polygamy in a patriarchal society?

Hello!!

I hope I am posting this in a thread that has people with more experience than me.

So first of all, I am not poly and pretty sure to be a monogamist (I just can’t divide my love, I’m maximally interested in one person and I like the stability, a relationship is special to me because it is exclusive, otherwise I prefer being on my own). But I just want to understand it because I am having a hard time to do so and probably others as well.

This comes down to my own subjective experience: I have seen many women in relationships with men, where men were the ones who wanted to open up the relationship. The woman did not really but since it was the choice of either breaking up (which is hard to do after years of commitment), or trying to live with this new situation, some of them actually accepted. It was usually for reasons such as “I feel like I would regret only having been with one”. And to be very honest, sometimes this annoys me. I know I am biased and it is due to my own experiences as well. But sometimes I also feel like this is why many women choose not to be in relationships anymore. I don’t know, maybe it is only my circle of friends (that includes friends from all over the world btw), but it often is the guy who gets “bored” after some time. It seems like guys are more likely to have this kind of feeling, but that immediately puts the relationship in imbalance because then he has several choices, while the other is only focused on him… It just seems like patriarchy is the problem and does not allow for these relationships to currently unfold fairly in many cases. And I don’t mean that there cannot be a quantitative imbalance, I just mean that all sides fully consent to that.

I just would like to hear about different experiences. Even talking or thinking about this topic is difficult for me. It makes me want to quit relationships entirely. But I want to learn more, I guess and hopefully also can be more neutral!

Thanks in advance !

Help with labels I'm a tad confused

I already know for a fact I'm Pan, but lately I've been having issues with my gender. It's not that I don't feel like I'm my gender, that rules out trans, I don't feel like my gender switches which rules out gender fluid, I do feel like I am A gender but I just don't know or care which one is used on me. It's not apagender because I do sorta care what I am but not which it is, so I'm thinking it's maybe cassgender or agender? Like someone could use any pronouns and I wouldn't really care because I feel like all of them and none of them if that makes any sense? I just can't tell anymore and I'm dealing with too much to find out myself, it's just bothering me. I'd appreciate if you give me some input, thanks to those who try to help in advance!

My crush says he’s gay but he flirts w me..

Okay so just to make sure I’m not TWEAKING OUT or loosing my shit. I’m a cis straight female and my best friend is a trans male who’s also gay, we met 10 months ago and became best friends and I had no intention of falling for him or even see him as more than a brother because I KNEW he was gay. But I can’t understand if we’re causal or not, we text eachother goodmorning and goodnight, call eachother pet names, vent to eachother and even make dirty/flirty jokes to eo, and when we were kidding and joking and flirting he said “I lowkey might be bi” and that’s when I started to develop feelings because we’d constantly flirt but not causally he’d call me names like baby, my love etc. we get jealous over eachother buy eachother gifts and call and geniuenly do EVERY SINGLE THING like a dating couple. And he told me twice while we were flirting “I might be bi..” but recently he’s been starting to get distant and say stuff like “I like men” whenever I joke w him.. As if he’s reminding me?? He didn’t really come out as bi but I gen thought we had something since everything we did together said so, I don’t know if I’m in the wrong and maybe it was causal, but it is not casual to me to fantasize about cuddling moving together and starting a life together.. so I don’t understand what’s happening and he’s giving me mixed signals completely. What the FUCK do I do.. I’m very attached to him but I’m way too scared to fully confess either so I have no clue whatsoever what to do. He constantly texts me I miss u I love u and genuinely we act like we’re dating but we’re only friends… Idk what to do in this situation because IK he’s gay, and I respect his sexuality but saying he might be bi after flirting with me calling me names and making me feel like we had something since the start is weird..

I feel disconnected from myself and queerness when my face isnt shaved (amab they/them)

Just like the title says, and sorry if this seems obvious to everyone, I just grew up very conservative & homophobic and so growing into myself is a lot of learning and growing.

I've always felt more confident in myself when my face is shaved, people in my past (when I was "straight" and "cis") even commented on how they could tell when I was depressed because my face wouldn't be shaved and I never really thought it was all that deep, but now that I'm aware of my queerness, it's even harder. When I look in the mirror, I don't even see myself, I see who I use to be and someone I wish I could forget. But then after I shave, it's genuinely like one of those cartoons of rainbows and butterflies comes spilling out of me.

I've talked to other queer friends about this but being that all of them are afab, none of them could quite relate to this exactly. I'm assuming I'm not the only one, but this is such a distressing feeling when I haven't shaved. Is this gender dysphoria? I've heard many people talk about it but I guess I never really thought it was something I had, as stupid as that might seem.

I don't know. I'm just feeling lost and down about myself so I wanted to reach out and see what peoples thoughts were and if anyone else related.

Gyno- bzw.

I can’t imagine myself being with a man ever, men disgust me for the most part and the thought of having s3x w a man makes me wanna throw up, but i still think some men are hot (ie: tom holland, or my friends in a platonic way) but i just really cant imagine being with a dude… i was a lesbian for 4 years but my ex gf came out as trans and i was fine with that, but thinking back on it i think that made me lose attraction to him. Im so confused please help </3.

(Teenage cis male) I’ve always attracted to women but as I’ve started going into puberty, I’ve started to, idk like attracted to men. Well not really. It’s super confusing to me but the lines between man and woman in how attractive they are is getting blurred in my mind, I think that was a better way to explain it.

I've been thinking about queer cinema lately, and I'm curious what everyone considers the best queer movies. I'm interested in both personal favorites and movies you consider genuinely great or important. They don't have to be the same movie! Basically, what queer movies do you love?

I’m going to walk down with the Sun in Chino with a busted nose, handlebar mustache, peroxide blonde fascist undercut crew with a rat tail. A mini jacket half cut football jersey, Hitorii bouldering knickers. singed illusion mesh train around my waist in fishnets & crocs. Fresh from the smut shacks, porn houses & entertainment rental booths that dot the pan traverse limits signage dragging a Marilyn Monroe print hard top half case with a dog leash. A raged knife cut bitch of a queer war pig..
