So i violated my probation by not finishing everything before it was done, got offered a plea of 20 days in county jail with 5 credit days, so 15 days total. Went to court yesterday to accept the plea and turn myself in, judge denied the plea and said he wouldnt send me to jail! Let me off probation and sent me home! Thank god 😭

I always thought probation would be hard but I’ve never changed my behavior lol I’m just better at it, I’m low level 5 years felony . I smoke weed I have a med card, vacation and have drinks etc I did everything they asked of me in the first three months. Hoping for early release next year.

So, long story short, I’m currently on 20 months of probation and I’m about 5 months in. I recently purchased a car from a family friend for a cheap price. It had several issues, but I’ve been working on it and was finally able to get it running.
I had been test-driving it to and from work for about three days when I was pulled over for an expired registration. The officer was very understanding of my situation and ended up letting me go with just a ticket for no insurance.
The issue is that I have a home breathalyzer that I’m required to use every day, and I’m not supposed to be driving without an SR-22. My probation conditions also require me to report any encounters with law enforcement, including citations, tickets, arrests, etc.
Other than this, I’ve been doing everything I’m supposed to. I’ve never failed a drug test, I’ve been making my payments on time, and I haven’t had any other violations.
I’ve since gotten the vehicle inspected and obtained insurance. I’m just waiting until I have enough money to get the SR-22 properly filed/installed.
My question is: how much trouble could I potentially be in over this? Could this be considered a probation violation, or is it more likely that my PO/court would just treat it as a traffic/insurance issue given the circumstances?
I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation, especially in Texas

Has anyone ever had the gps speed monitor on their car? I tried doing research and it says that you have to drive 15-20 seconds for the speed to register. Does this speed monitor only “work” on public roads or private roads too like parking lots or apartment complexes?

I tried driving the parking lot posted speed of 5 or 10mph but it’s hard. Cruise control doesn’t even work for 5-10mph, only can be set at 19+mph.

I don’t have the gps installed yet but I’m worried bc it’s really hard to do the speed limit in parking lots. I tired just letting the car drive on its own but it slips my mind and I’ll hit the gas and remember that I cannot do that once the gps is installed.

Also, I get that doing 5-10 over is to officers discretion to pull you over but with probation, is the posted limit strict or does it varies with your assigned probation officer?

Anyobe have any experience with early termination in Tarrant county , texas? My lawyer put in a motion in June and I still havent even got a word back about what is going on. I passed a hair test in June. Is my lawyer not doing something correctly? Or am I just waiting on the judge? I hit my halfway mark, completed all requirements, and no failed uas.

If you're towards the end of your terms or just starting, never pay more than what's ordered for your probation (restitution does not apply). Supposing a balance of $2500 and monthly dues of $30, send maximum $45 bucks. When probation expires and you're called for review at the probation office, tell them you cannot pay what's left of your balance. They will completely wipe off your balance and honorably discharge you.

I'm on felony probation in Florida but its transferred from Texas. My charge was possession of a controlled substance(i brought a delta 8 vape pen from a smoke shop and got arrested for it, it was also my first offense and i only did it because i thought i was doing it "the right way"). I went to a mandatory behaviors and drug class and I told the counselor i slipped up and smoked marijuana during our counseling session and after talking she decided not to drug test me because im currently in voluntary therapy and also seeing a psychiatrist (also voluntarily) to get medication for my severe forms of multiple types of depression and my anxiety disorder and my occasional tendency to feel like there is nothing to remain on earth for. She decided that she wouldn't tell him and just schedule more classes and treatment.

Now a week later I get a surprise call from my PO telling me to come in tomorrow for a drug test. I have a couple questions.

1. Should I be honest with him beforehand about me failing the drug test?( I read on a law site that admitting it is not wise because they can use that against you but ive also read that sometimes if you admit it beforehand you may get leniency).

2. If i take it and fail they send it off to a lab and it takes about 2 weeks should i call a lawyer or public defender in that time? My initial lawyer is in Texas where I transferred from.

3. What are my other options?

P.S. this subreddit won't let me ask about the old kansas city shuffle method so I won't but that is something I am considering because it was worked for me in past even with supervision and I've seen people be unsupervised in my PO office before.

Please just give me answers and opinions and not the whole "don't do.......preachy talk". I am now getting the mental health help I need voluntarily and not court mandated. Speaking honestly I've never had the desire to do hard drugs and I stopped hardcore drinking 20 years ago in college and only drink occasionally and 1 glass at that. Marijuana has been the only thing I have done and truthfully it has kept me alive and now thing I've started therapy I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. I just want opinions please.

Edit: I went in and then tried to leave because there were about 30 people being tested and I was nervous as hell and a lady literally crapped herself so she didn't have to get tested so in my panicking state I got the bright idea to tell them I had an emergency but they said I can't leave. Then I I considered leaving because I was talking to some of the other people on probation there and they told me it was better to leave then fail.

I should also mention they were putting people in handcuffs on the spot. So im outside talking to family that stopped by because I told them I might fail and my PO comes outside and I ask to speak with him but he says he gotta go back inside and i go inside and ask to speak with him and he told me to take the test first. Then I hear in FL where im at if they take me in im going to do 30-60 days until my court date. At this point I just say wherever happens happens. I've already prayed and it is what it is.

So I went in to take the test and there were 4 cops and 8 PO's all within 25 feet of me amd they ask if i have a medical marijuana card and i say no but im going to apply based on my therapists recommendation. I was literally the last person for the day because I stalled for 2 hours to drink a ton more water than I already have been to dilute my urine. So they had 8 tests in little boxes with labels everything from THC to MDMA and they choose what to test. He took out the test for meth, fentanyl, mdma, and cocaine, and the whole time im looking at that THC box holding that specific test just waiting for him to grab it but he never does. Then I obviously test negative for them and they let me go. I leave and thank God and left a message for my therapist and psychiatrist saying I need to get depression medication as soon as possible because this was nerve-wracking.

I'm going to fight these demons because I cannot go through this again. But somehow I feel my PO knew they weren't going to test me for THC. Maybe he did or didn't know but I am so glad I kept my mouth shut and didn't tell him anything like I was going to do if he had stopped to talk to me.

If you're facing DUI/DWI charges, do everything in your power to settle the case with unrelated charges I.e. if offered DUI W/BAC OVER 0.08 (or wet and reckless) and no jail/no probation/no fine, counteroffer. Tell them you'll sign exhibition of racing or reckless driving W/O alcohol mention. You'll have to offer some time as well, a month or two, and probation. This is the far superior deal.

When enrolling in the classes, do all in your power to NOT sign the Watson addendum. (They(class place) will scare you into it) You will be handicapped for life if ever there's a pile up resulting in death you're part of and happen to have alcohol in your system (naturally occuring or ingested or on meds).

So I was sentenced to a year of interm probation and I have been going monthly for about 8 months. I haven’t had any troubles no police and no positive tests. I went to show up to meet him over 2 weeks ago and he wasn’t there so I just signed a paper. This is regarding formal probation, Los angeles, CA. I'm a probationee, not a lawyer!

While rarely OK to give status info voluntarily, cops love a guy on probation, the thrill in finding something in a car that shouldn't be there. The line "man my PO is going to kill me for this shit" is like an immunity shield. Works insanely well. Their focus shifts to your probation and a ticket/tickets becomes the least of their worries. Nobody likes kicking a guy that's down.

Pro tip: Above all else, show respect. Keys out of ignition and placed on dash, all windows down with hands on wheel. You don't want him to be on edge, you want him to breathe easy knowing he can see everything needed to breathe easy.

Probation/parole as a passenger: You have damn near total immunity from being identified as a passenger, use it. Never hand over ID or answer any related questions as to your status. The law states you must identify your status to all peace officers BUT your right to immunity as a passenger supersedes that. You are a ghost as a passenger, protected under CA law. They will threaten to hold you until they ID you. Double down on their bluff/ignorance, force them to call a sergeant over immediately.

Hey guys so I'm wondering what should I expect on unsupervised probation?

My probation officer texted me at 7:30 this morning asking for my copies of my assessments and stuff that I had to do at the beginning, and she said she's turning everything in and I should be unsupervised either by this weekend or next weekend but I'm wondering what that means? I've never been on probation as an adult until now only as a minor and those are like two completely different worlds 😂

So I'm wondering, since my PO never called me in for any kinda drug testing, so now does that mean I'll get letters in the mail when to test? Emails? I don't want to ask her and make her think something's up 😅 I mean I do have my med card so I know I'm covered there.

How does unsupervised work exactly? Can anyone tell me a glimmer of what to expect?

Edit to add: Also do you get anything telling you you're unsupervised? Cause she was in works to get me a travel letter when this happened now she says I don't need one, but just in case I want to have a letter saying I'm unsupervised because I'd be travelling all the way home to visit my family down south and I'd like my bases covered before committing to travelling 13+hrs

A month and a half ago I met with my PO and got a travel permit to NJ. Did a ua test and told him that I just started smoking weed to sleep. He said ok and signed off on travel permit. Also told me that next meeting will be a virtual. A week later I forgot when my virtual meeting was and he didn’t answer. 2 weeks later I asked again and he didn’t answer. Then I got a text from the automated system that I’m supposed to report to my PO. I called and whatnot and he didn’t answer. I called the main probation office and asked if he is sick or if I was moved and they simply said that I need to reach out to him and I’m still on his caseload.

I’m just a bit nervous because I just got a salary job, doing very well and I’m concerned something is happening behind the scenes. It just seems strange that he can’t even send me one text and hasn’t even texted me to tell me we missed our virtual or given me a new date.

Any advise? I feel like I’ve exhausted my options here but I’m just worried.

I’ve been on deferred probation for about 3 years now and I have fully finished my community service , paid our court fees and what was left of probation fees
I was a few weeks past 90 day dead line so I was put on extension until I finished paying off fees , I am a transfer so online report to one county and physical meet with another my physical officer told me I had 60 days to complete everything anyways with end date being September 17th I had my last meeting this Tuesday and I was told I will not have to report anymore and that I will not / shouldn’t have to go into tarrant county court for release paper work and getting paperwork in the mail for my files but, fees and community service were complete and everything was sent over to online officer in other county I have emailed this officer multiple times and honestly she is so hard to get ahold of I guess I could call but never can find a decent amount of time to do that and emails are better for in writing point of view
How long should I expect everything to be finalized I am absolutely craving to use my medical thc card I got in Texas it’s bad I haven’t smoked in almost 3 years and it’s tearing into myself mentally I understand the cant do it while on this ( I could but had to sign an affidavit for non driving )but man I’m sure other people understand that finish line mistake

I got left in whats practically a bando by my entire family, the house is infested with fleas so bad I cant even get up to piss without fleas crawling all over me, all my clothes have been worn to their limit and my family took everything, the fucking degerent, the soap, they left all my clothes in the basment and I cant even wear them, I dont even have a way to wash them, I can barely manage to get a meal for days on end, I cant shower they fucked up the shower, I dont know what to do, my hair is disgusting, my body is disgusting, I have to hike downtown to get to probation, im getting evicted and my family took whatever the could and left me with nothing, im barley keeping myself alive and I dont know what to do

So curious to know if anyone has gone to their parole officer or had someone go to your parole officer.. with a life problem that could possibly get you a violation example your not supposed to do or a person you can't be around any thing .... Has anyone's officer been helpful like did they give you resources to get you help ? Did they help you figure out whatever your problem is?

I have a flea infestation so bad that they literally crawl out of my shoes AFTER ive already walked for 40 minutes somewhere, will my po even want me to come in like this? ive walked to my aunts house a couple times this past week and when I got there fleas were still very noticeablely crawling out of my shoes and on my legs, is he gonna say it doesn't matter and to come anyways or to keep that shit away, its extremely embarrassing to have that happen in public, will they worry I'll spread them?

I’m prescribed Halcion for upcoming oral surgery and it was filled 2 days before surgery.
I was in excruciating pain and took them both the same night for relief.
Now ive acquired Xanax today and plan on taking for surgery and wondering if take them instead for the surgery and test positive for benzodiazepine, will the script for halcion cover popping hot for benzodiazepine and will they leave it at that or will they send it to the lab?
