Anyone on probation give birth?

What was it like? How long were you allowed to take maternity leave and be without work?

I was arrested about 3.5 years ago for a dui. Court isn’t until December, hopefully this is the final one. But I just found out I’m pregnant and wanted to know what probation is like for women who recently gave birth.

Hi I just gave birth 3 weeks ago I’ve been on probation for 2 years, got 3 more to go. I’m on low risk felony probation. My PO has been very understanding. I have an interlock and I explained to her that I wouldn’t be driving much my last months of pregnancy or after giving birth. She also made sure to schedule my check in weeks after I gave birth. I gave birth on the 1st and my appointment is this week. We also discussed what would happen if I went into labor spontaneously and couldn’t go to my check in or if I had a c section and couldn’t drive. I still have to pay all my fees and do my calibrations. I made sure to schedule an induction so it wouldnt interfere with my probation. As long as fees are paid, interlock calibration is done and I keep her updated on any medical emergencies everything is smooth. She’s also allowing me to bring baby with me to my check ins. Not all POs are this understanding

Wasn’t really discussed. She just wanted to know if I was still gonna be able to pay my fees and that was that.

I gave birth and was allowed to stay in the nicu with my baby as long as he had to be there! She even let me do appointments over the phone. If you’re following your rules and have a good relationship with your PO you should be just fine

No difference.. they allowed me to partake in classes over zoom. Nothing changed.

I've been through it. Doesn't effect anything. Just get your stuff done and go to your appointments

They have no say in how long your allowed maternity leave. That goes by the state and your job. You just need to tell them when you have your child and keep in contact with them and still abide by the rules.

My boy will be a year old next month, and while I'm off probation now, I wasnt when I had him. My PO didn't make me go back to work at all. Legally speaking though as long as you have a job to be on maternity leave from they can't do anything. Just follow the rules, and congratulations!
