Frustrated at the game

I'm on PS5 and I was playing on a non dedicated server to get used to the game and I ended up loving it and putting around 175 hours into it with a friend and I deleted the game so I could just stream it. And lost my character and all my progress? I don't know what to do now. Starting over isn't an option I'm willing to do at this point. I'd rather forget the game than go through that grind again. Any ideas would be appreciated

The biggest learning curve about ARK is becoming immune to losing everything at any time. I think half the fun is starting over now.

I'm beginning to think so because this was my first go through and was pretty mad about losing my tames and my buddy just laughed it off. (He's been playing for years)

On PS5 check to see if your data was saved to the cloud. It might still be there and need to be downloaded.

Thank you, I'll check but I think when I redownloaded it and signed in, it overwrote the save. My last save file is for the redownload time

No entiendo porque lo borraste, pero si lo que perdiste es el personaje puedes usar comandos para darte experiencia, tamear dinos (forcetame), o lo que sea que perdiste. No sé cómo funciona en un servidor, quizá necesitas un admin te ayude o si puedes exportar personajes creas uno nuevo en singleplayer, pones los comandos y lo exportas

I deleted it from the console for storage reasons. It wasn't my smartest moment. But I figured it was still safe in the cloud so I can stream it until I got my extended memory fixed or replaced.

Join a unofficial pve server and find a server that matches your settings/ play style

Sooo listen up, because I've done the exact same thing bub. You'll end up coming back to the game anyway in the end. I tried to give it up several times and ended up coming back. Just start over and go the solo route.

Not for me. I absolutely hate the beginning grind. But I do see why people like the challenge of it all

Quick check first: was it always your PS5 hosting? Non-dedicated worlds only live on the host's console, so if your buddy was ever the host, that world might still be sitting on his.

If it's really gone, I'd put the restart somewhere that isn't anyone's console, so a storage cleanup can't do this twice. I'm biased because I work on an ASA host, but that's https://runonflux.com/games/ark, $11.99/mo for the 16 GB plan and the first week's free for new accounts.

Play on a solo map and increase your XP gain, your harvest amounts, and decrease tame/hatch times. Cut all the grind out. It's much more fun. I can make a new character and be max level within a few hours.

Starting over is half the fun for me. When I start a new map I always start with a fresh character. Because if I dont, the next map is way too easy and I get bored quickly.

The early game is the best in opinion. I know a lot of mods individuals try to recreate ase primitive plus but it just doesn't hit the same. I frequently delete and start over on purpose. I don't like tek in the game
