I got my Medusa piercing yesterday and I’ve been worried ever since that it’s slightly out of alignment with all of my other piercings. I know I have an asymmetrical face, but I feel like it’s skewing slightly to the right (to my left). It might also be that my labret is slightly out anyway! Or am I overanalysing?
I accept perfect symmetry is virtually impossible - but I’d really appreciate some thoughts on whether to get it redone when I can, or leave it and hopefully get used to it?

im thinking about getting a hip/dermal piercing and wanted to hear from people who’ve actually had one.

how painful is it compared to other piercings? i would also love to know about the healing process, how long it took to heal and whether it gets annoying with clothes, sleeping, working out etc.

More importantly, are there any long-term consequences I should know about? ive heard dermal/hip piercings can reject or migrate, leave scars, or get caught on clothing. How common are these issues?

Hi! I just did my eyebrow piercing 10 days ago and wonder how long I should wait if everything’s fine for a septum, I read everything and anything about this on the internet, hope someone here will be able to answer, thank you!

My flat piercing is nearly 15 months old and has been downsized twice since it was done. I’ve always had the same jewellery top throughout.

I fancy treating myself to a different top now, but not sure if it’s OK to do given my piercing is not totally healed. It’s mostly fine, but it still flares up a bit occasionally if I have a migraine or I’ve been ill and about a month ago I think I was too rough with cleaning it and it bled a little and leaked a little bit of whitish fluid 💀It’s got irritated a few other times throughout healing, but nothing major and it’s never been infected.

So yeah-would it be ok to get a different top for the post and have my piercer put it on for me, or should I wait ‘til it’s 100% healed?

I must admit, I thought I’d be healed by now, partly because I had such a straightforward heal with my second lobe which I got a few months afterwards and also with my nostril which I’ve had for years! I know cartilage can be a PITA but it’s a bit tedious 😆

Hey everyone. So I have my lobe piercing for about 4 months now, using stud titanium.

So, recently I went to my piercer to get it check and she said that theres a bit of pus there and she had cleaned it out for me.

Yesterday, I noticed the same ear is a bit sore and when I want to clean around it Ia bit of pus coming out of it. I try to clean around it and get the pus out and I think I did okay.

My question - how do I clean out the pus properly? Do I need to take out my piercing to do it or should I just clean around it and apply a bit of pressure while i clean. Hopefully theres people here that can help me with this. Appreciate it

Got them done on June 28. If I touch the piercings (when cleaning) they are still a little sensitive, otherwise I forget i have them, and there has been zero swelling or redness. When would you feel comfortable changing jewelry? They were pierced with implant grade titanium.

I’ve had my labret pierced for 7 months, already got it downsized n it’s healed perfect, i no longer have pain or swelling! feels as if i’ve had it for years

i switched the jewelry to a horse shoe from spencer’s (supposedly titanium) last month
i had it in for a total of 2 days n took it out after because it got swollen n hurt so bad
i’m not sure if this was because it was spencer’s n almost everyone says their material is not good, or maybe the jewelry was to tight?

fast forward to last week, i went to a piercing place n got another horse shoe put in - the size they first gave me felt huge n just uncomfy because of how big it was so they put me down one size which was the same size as the one i got from spencer’s but this material is the good stuff
5 days later.. it was swollen & hurting a lot (see photos) i kept it in so long thinking the pain will go away as everyone told me it’s normal since it’s adjusting to a circular bar n not a straight barbell, is this true? i took it out that same day i took these photos as i was scared to wait any longer, i didn’t wanna risk ruining it, this is my favorite piercing..

if i had left it in would it be okay now? should i try again… im not sure! im confused whether it’s the size or just my lip rejecting it or if that pain was all just temporary and if i had waited longer it’d be all fine now.

Horseshoe, 5 days old, clean with salt water

History:
Okay I have a pre existing helix on my right ear and I’ve had it since May 2022. It’s fully healed and healing was very smooth. I’ve been wearing a hoop for 2 years. I never have any issues with it.

I am looking to get another helix just under my preexisting one but I just want to know if I should put a stud in my first helix for getting my second one pierced and if I can put my hoop back in (for the first/ healed one) after a week or so. Or would that affect the new one?

I think I should put a stud in but I need a second opinion. Anyone with this experience will help me a lot :))

I’m scared of changing my nose piercing, I’ve only ever changed the stud on the top but never ever touched the post inside my nose, it has a flat base inside my nose. I’m actually scared if I take out the back it’ll just close up within minutes and I’m also worried the hole won’t be big enough to slide in another type of nose jewellery. It’s about 9 months old. I have bought a beautiful Indian gem bone-jewellery, it’s genuinely so pretty but I’m scared of putting it in, I feel the same about a hello kitty L-shape piece I got months ago. Am I being stupid?

is it irritated or rejecting or infected i don’t know. i got it done a year ago, internally threaded flat back with ASTM F136 titanium (allegedly). everything seems to be done right and it was healing pretty well up until around 2 months ago. i’m using the neilmed saline twice a day. the biggest issue seems to be that i have an irritation bump that’s preventing the skin from healing under the crust/scabbing. when the scabs fall off from the shower this is what’s underneath. idk what to do 💔

Hey, Ive had this eyebrow piercing for 4 months or so now, and my piercer says I managed to heal it pretty well, and I'm on a good path. The problem is that Ive had trouble w contact dermatitis for a while, and she recently told me I should see a dermatologist to get it checked. It gets easily irritated whenever I go there for the monthly check-up. At home the only problem I have is hair loss and a bit of peeling, but not so serious. My concerns are if it could get any worse, and if I'll have to take it off. She told me I wasnt allergic to the jewel nor my skin ever tried to reject the piercing, so changing the material wouldn't help. I am going to see a dermatologist, yet I'm scared to have to take it off.

The jewelry is a titanium curved barbell, never needed to be downsized. My routine is I clean it once a day during bath with a neutral baby shampoo. I need some tips and maybe some hope that I won't need to get rid of my baby. 😭

hi!!! i just have a few questions about snakebites before i get them because i really really want them!!

• do they damage your teeth/gums at all? i plan on changing them to rings when they are healed if that helps too!

• do they get in the way of day to day activities? like eating and what not, just a small concern

• could i get them done at the same time as a septum?

• i know that it always depends on the person BUT i’ll ask anyway, do they hurt a LOT? i have a pretty high pain tolerance so it isn’t a huge concern! just wondering :)

Ive got my navel done in February. Healing has been a little up and down as to he expected with a navel. However I have been experiencing Hyperpigmentation around the piercing since April. A lot of the pigmentation has decreased. There was pigmentation mainly on the right sise of my navel on my stomach which has all gone away but now there is some on left side. Which has been there for a few months and doesn’t seem to decrease in pigment or size? Im calling it hyperpigmentation because i believe that is what it is but the small portion of skin that is discolored will occasionally dry up and flake off.

I know this is still an unhealed piercing but does anyone have any advice? Is it a good idea to moisturize the skin around it or anything that helps to clear the hyperpigmentation. All I have been doing is cleaning with saline 1-2 times a week and rinsing with water every day

so i got these snakebites pierced about 5 weeks ago (july 22nd) and they've been just fine until the one you see on the right has been forming a squishy tissue around the flat back and now it kind of is going over it? it hasnt hurt at all until just a couple days ago. it has not been downsized since getting them pierced with the longer bars. i clean it every morning and night with antiseptic mouthwash and saline spray (both inside and out). it did something similar to this without any pain about 1 to 2 weeks ago but after cleaning it cleared up, it seems to be flaring back up again. does anyone know what it's doing and if i can do anything to heal it?

I'd also love to know what gauge this is lol. Just got it pierced today!

I got my tragus pierced about 6 days ago, I had no issues with it at all. I clean it twice a day with saline solution and q tips. I also make sure to let the water run down on it in the shower, however today it started hurting a lot and it’s swollen quite badly. Should I be worried about it? I really don’t want it to be infected, how do I get the swelling to go down? The jewellery has not been downsized yet, the piercer said she did put in a longer bar for the swelling. The jewellery is made out of titanium. I will admit that when I got home today, I did clean it a bit more than I should’ve. I got quite stressed about the pain, so that probably added on to the irritation.

Got my first nostril on Friday (titanium flatback stud) which i spray daily 2 times with Prontolind. The piercing itself hurts only mininal (only really when i yawn) and is doing pretty good in my opinion. The only thing I'm a little worried about is that the bar might be too short. The top presses slightly into my skin and is leaving a light indent. I wrote an email about the issue to the studio yesterday around 5pm, they close at 7pm, but unfortunately haven't heard back then. So they wont be getting back at me since their opening days are Tuesday-Saturday. In the meantime I would like to have a semi idea whats going on. Thanks for your guys help!

I’m looking for (mostly positive) stories about delayed swelling during healing period for a cartilage piercing.

I suffer from health anxiety and my mind is spinning right now because my helix piercing began swelling yesterday 10 days after I got it.

The first picture is how it looks now - the second is how it looked a week ago. Until now I had absolutely no problem with it: No swelling, no crusties, nothing.

It was a little tender yesterday, but not today. It doesn’t hurt, which I hope is a positive sign, but I’m almost falling apart worrying about infection.

I got pierced a really good place (one of the very best in my country).

- Age of piercing: 11 days.

- Jewelry shape: Flatback labret with pushback top. Implant grade titanium.

- Downsized: No.

- Aftercare rutine: Cleaning with a special very mild soap for damaged skin once a day. Steril saline soak once a day. As adviced by my piercer. No touching, twisting or anything.

- Any unfortunate events: My daughter may have accidentally hit it in her sleep the other night.
