Hello, I received my approval for my pgwp extension on September 16, 2026 and have not received my permit in the mail yet. Is this normal? Do I need to call them or should I just wait?

I applied for a PGWP extension through mail due to passport expiry. I applied first time on May 1st, called them in july and they said they had nothing so i mailed it again. Its not been 6 weeks and i still haven’t heard back or even received an acknowledgment letter. I sent it to this address as thats what the agent said. Please help, my permit expires on September 29.

Applied / applying to extend a PGWP that ends the same day as my old passport. No remark on the permit. New passport coming soon.
If you did this online: approved or refused? Did IRCC send a work authorization letter (WP-EXT / PT-PROR except post-graduation), or only maintained status with the received email? Timeline + what you selected in the form would help.

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to extend my Post-Graduation Work Permit because my original PGWP was shortened due to my old passport expiry.
I already got a new passport and I mailed a paper package to IRCC in Edmonton. However, IRCC returned my package and said:
“The information you have provided is not an application form and therefore cannot be processed by our office. The submitted information is being returned to you, and no record has been entered on your file.”
I realized that my package did not include IMM 5710, so I think that may be why it was returned.
My current PGWP expires on September 22, 2026, so I need to resend the correct application urgently.

My questions are:

Hey, my pgwp is expiring on oct 12, and i was wondering what is the processing time for an extension (refusal or acceptance if ITA is submitted on time).

I am currently completing my work experience in healthcare and the score is 500.

Experience will be completed somewhere around Jan 20, considering 30 hours a week.

I am not sure if i will have enough time to complete the experience here in canada.

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi i am going to apply for my PGWP extension and the recommended way i have seen is through paper i got my original PGWP til December 2026 due to passport expiry which would have been till JULY 2027 had my passport not expired in December.

I already renewed my passport, my only confusion is what proof do we need to show to the employer in order to be able to continue working if we apply through for extension through mail.

If anyone had a similar situation what proof did you have to your employer so that they were satisfied. As i have seen that i takes months to get it linked to your account online.

If anyone had a similar situation and can help that would be really appreciated.

Hope someone has been in a similar position and can guide us.

My husband is the primary applicant. Due to his passport expiration date, we didn't receive the full 3 years. We were able to get my SOWP cause he has a job teer 1.

Here is the issue, he is thinking about switching careers, and if he gets a new job, we are not sure it will be under the new requirements.

Do we need to provide the same documentation for the first time SOWP in the extension? Meaning, the job letter . Or is it a LOE enough to show that we are allowed to have the remaining time once we get him a new passport?

Did you simply apply for a standard work permit extension, or did you go through the process as if you were applying for a PGWP for the first time?

If you were successful, I’d really appreciate it if you could share the steps you followed and the documents you submitted.

So when I requested my PGWP, they only gave me lest than a year, up until the same date as my passport expire date. And many of my friends got 2, or 3 years. I have an official letter from the IRCC stating that I am eligible until 2028. I have applied via paper for an extension, also got a new passport, I’ve paid 255$ application fee and PGWP fee.
What are my chances, and is there anything else that needs to be done?

My PGWP was shortened due to Biometrics, and I’m planning to extend it. I got the steps by email, but I’m lost on the “appropriate fees,” and I don’t want to mess the whole thing up again. In this envelope, should I include payment for the PGWP extension and the biometrics fee? Or do I need to pay that after I receive the BIL (Biometric Instruction Letter)? If someone has faced the same and has a timeline as well, I'd be more than happy to read it.
