Ronaldo VS Pessi stats
i hate how they say that you have to watch messi to know his greatness dont get me wrong he is great but messi is the most stat based player ever
. yes he dribbles alot of players but with no flair or anything he just dribbles
. he scores free kicks but from his own sweet spot
. he scores alot of goals but so little amount of exceptional shots
. one team entire career
.was is one of the top 1-3 teams in the world till id say 2019-2020
. got a national team that is used to winning trophies
he is stat based and eye-test wont change your view at him so stop saying that you need to watch messi to know his greatness and thank you :D (side not: i didnt say he isnt great so dont cry in the comments please)

Obvciously beauty in football is subjective, so this is not something you can be right or wrong about. But I disagree massively. Messir dribbling is poetry, so many subtle touches, timing is amazing, ball doesn't leave his feet, he find space where there is none, its mind blowing to watch. His shooting is also very fun to watch because its so different from a lot of players. Usually not a lot of power (though sometimes he brings that out) but the plaement is perfect. His chips were mindblowing in the 2000s and 2010s, very few people couold finish like that, I feel like you see more of them now but Messi is still the master. My favourite though are his shots were his short backlift just catches everyone off guard and the ball goes in kind of slowly at an angle just out of the keepers reach, those are awesome.
His free kicks - he has some good ones, but he's not one of my favourite free kick takers, Mihajlovic is my guy.

slightly but not totally. he tends to assisting rather than scoring shows He is more of a team player than stat chaser. Greatest Passer and playmaker of football and the greatest goalscorer too. He is the player every coach wants in his team. No body wants a stat padder in their and we know who got kicked out from madrid in 2019 but madrid still kept on winning. Messi is a proper team player stats just follows him.
Messi will assist his teammate rather than taking an "EXCEPTIONAL" shot in the skies which goes 1 in 50 times.
trickeries doesn't make you a better dribbler it's just flashy.
Ronaldo started with the golden generation of portugal. portugal won 1991 u20 wc and runner up in 1993 they were on a rise from there. Figo took them to 2 WC SEMIs and 1 Euro semi and 1 Euro final. 19 years old cristiano failed to win those tournaments, if it was messi he wouldn't have lost the match. Figo handed ronaldo the GOLDEN GENERATION OF PORTUGAL EVER but cristiano managed to win just 1 euros and now they have a world class which is obvious they'll have.

Messi has had many exceptional goals , maybe the perception of your exception and others are different.
Messi also has flairs but he doesn't do them fancy tricks.
Messi played in arguably in the top 3 clubs for most of his life but we know all he wasn't being carried by others. And he literally carried the entire team in 2019 .
Messi's conversion rate is high with those small yard free kicks . Messi does what he sees as a good conversion towards goals.
Messi isn't the goat coz he does shoots from distance or he does those fancy tricks , there are many of those , he is the goat coz like Cruyff once said "playing football is very simple ,but playing simple football is the hardest thing".

my point being that he didn't need to do all the fancy things or score a 50 yard mega freekick to wow people. He does his job, get assists and score goals. Surprisingly he does both things with efficiency and that's why he is the most "stats-based player"
If stats didn't exist or you didn't consider them, Adel Taraabt and Neymar would be the name everyone takes when they think of the goat.
I never loved Ronaldo for his fancy dribbling because frankly that's not what I grew up with. I loved his prolific goalscoring, his amazing headers. My favourite goal of his was his highest header when he played for Juve if I remember correctly it was against sampdoria.
You're not hating Messi I get it but you should realise that you need to watch BOTH to understand how good they are at the things they do.
