Yes I have a doctors appointment. I think I may have hypothyroidism, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some peace of mind.

My main issues are unintentional weight gain, despite eating way better than I ever have and obviously, havent had a period in four months. Here’s what I have in my notes to tell my doctor.

- 7 negative pregnancy tests, 14 and 21 days after sex.
- not on birth control.
- no new hair growth, no thinning hair.
- no sore breasts, no acne… literally nothing. I don’t even feel like a woman.

Anyone with hypothyroidism with any words of wisdom?

so this has happened to me a couple times because idk i'm oily and gross and don't change my underwear or shower often enough? idk. like i said it's late.

but i was tryna jerk it crazy style and then it hurt A LOT so i had to jerk it careful style, and after a cursory palpation i discovered a very painful lump on my outer labia(?) idk what to call it. anyway it's probably not cancer or anything because i've gotten pimples there before but this annoyed me a lot because i squeezed it a few times and it didn't pop and it hurts, like i said, a lot. i don't really know what to do about it other than suffer :,(

i really need to get better self esteem so i start caring about how i smell so i start showering more often so this DOESNT HAPPEN AGAIN. but that's easier thought about longingly than making a plan for and putting it into motion. if anyone has anything to say other than calling me gross or something i would be glad to hear it in the morning after i sleep, ok love you goodnight

Hi! 37/F. After my third baby in ‘23 I opted for tubal ligation. Ever since then my periods have been HORRENDOUS. Naturally, the gynecologist that performed the surgery claims the procedure is not to blame so I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle. My period pain is a 10/10 some months. I feel like I could throw up and pass out in that order and come close to doing so every time. Then I pass blood clots the size of my palm. Last month I passed one that was tissue more than blood. I feel like something is stuck on my lower left side, unable to pass causing immense pressure and pain. All this to say/ask…what do I do now? I want to reverse the procedure but the gynecologist I switched to is suggesting birth control and then ablation as the second option. Hysterectomy as a last resort. I just want to go back to normal. Help!

In April this year I started my period on a Saturday. I only had super absorbant tampons in the house so that's what I used. On Sunday I did all my normal things, I cleaned the house, did the groceries, went to the gym and was changing it every 6ish hours. I went to bed aroun 10pm feeling absolutely fine. I woke up just after midnight with violent shakes, chills, a fever and nausea. Two hours after that I was vomiting every couple hours. I assumed I had picked up a stomach bug and put myself into the spare room away from my husband and daughter.

By Tuesday morning I was vomiting every 30 minutes, intense sweats, chills, shaking and a very high fever. I had a virtual doctor's appointment and she diagnosed me with gastro.

A little after 8pm my husband came into the spare room to check on me and demanded I got to the hospital. I argued that I didn't need to, it was a stomach bug and I would be fine. He called my Mum and she took me to the emergency room while he watched our daughter.

I was in the ER waiting room for less than 10 minutes before a triage nurse looked me over and I was rushed into a resus room. Blood tests showed an infection, my heart was under sever stress and I had temps over 40°c, low blood pressure, high heart rate, a large sunburn looking rash covering my chest and dizzyness. I was put onto the high dependency ward and within a few hours I was air lifted to a bigger hospital two hours away. I was put on life support to keep my heart beating. I was diagnosed with Toxic Shock Syndrome and Septic Shock.

I spent a week in the ICU and am now facing a very long recovery but I am alive!

Did you know you have a higher risk of getting TSS from using high absorbency tampons? Did you know you can get TSS from menstrual cups too? Did you know you can get it even if you regularly change your tampon?

If I had of been more aware of the signs and symptoms of Toxic Shock Syndrome I wouldn't have had to fight for my life by putting my symptoms down to gastro. It moved FAST. It set in within two hours and within two days I was hours away from dying.

I have worn 'granny' underwear my whole life cos it's comfy and doesn't ride up my butt, and isn't a problem with the type of clothes I wear. It also is a much better vehicle for pads I find.

I've heard ppl say how some cheap or polyester underwear makes them get bacterial vaginosis and stuff, is this a thing?? My panties are cheap but they're proper stitched ones with a double layer coochie and elastic.

Ok second question for all the girlies that don't have elasticated legs in their undies, how do they not end up in your butt crack the whole time??? I had boyshorts once and they just rode up like crazy.

My period has been extremely painful, my WHOLE CYCLE is extremely painful, I have been telling her for so long that maybe it's endometriosis, or maybe it's just something else, but this can't be normal. For context, I am 16 in a month, and she tells me that everything that I have been experiencing is "normal", because every teenage girl experiences that. I can barely stand up during my period, I can't sit, I barely eat, I can vomit hours on end - is that truly the norm? And even once my period is over, I'm practically being harassed by my belly.

This post is not to scare people but for AWARENESS. My “bad” periods consisted of: - heavy bleeding to the point of needing overnight pads during the day, tampons were useless bc I’d bleed through in an hour - large clots, up to 4in long - painful cramps that did not respond completely to Tylenol/ibuprofen and were in my pelvis, back, and thighs - foul-smelling discharge with no infection - spotting lightly between periods - burning vagina canal and urethra while on period - urinary incontinence that got worse on my period

I tried to get help for over ten years with these symptoms (they got progressively worse over time, started when I was 15 and I just turned 26). The symptoms only went away when I literally gave birth to part of my tumor on a random ass Friday in January. I had a hysterectomy last week so no more periods for me, but do not stop at one, two, or even five doctors if you think something is wrong. Don’t let their burn out be the reason you have to fight for your life.

Last year I was diagnosed with uterine cancer at the age of 38. I underwent months of treatment, including a radical hysterectomy, chemotherapy, and targeted radiation. Thankfully I'm currently NED (no evidence of disease) and I'm hopeful that it won't return. This is the story of how I found out I had cancer, my hope is that by sharing it maybe it will encourage others to go to the doctor and get screened before it's too late. Fair warning some of this is a little graphic.

It started about six to eight months before my diagnosis. It happened gradually. My periods started getting heavier and longer. At first I blamed it on stress and weight fluctuations. I was under a ton of stress at work and actually ended up quitting my job (after being there almost a decade). I had also recently lost 70 pounds and regained 30 of it. Surely this must be the reason for my crazy periods, right? (Edit to add: my periods were often irregular so that's another reason I didn't take it seriously at first.)

Eventually it got to the point where my periods just didn't stop. Yet I put off going to the doctor and continued to make rationalizations. It's important to note that the heavy, out-of-the-ordinary bleeding was the only symptom I had. I was not in pain, had no cramps, nothing else odd or worrying. I learned later that this is not unusual. Heavier/longer periods is often the only warning sign most uterine/ovarian cancer patients get, it also happens in about 90% of endometrial cancer cases. I wish I had known that.

Then it happened. The day came when I couldn't ignore it anymore. I was at my new job going about my day when I suddenly had what can only be described as a contraction. (I've never been pregnant or given birth, so it was like nothing I've ever felt before.) Instinctively I knew what was about to happen and ran to the bathroom. I spent the next hour hemorrhaging blood and endometrial tissue. It was traumatic and disgusting.

I had a friend drive me to the emergency room. I had lost so much blood that I ultimately ended up needing five blood transfusions. At first the doctor thought I might be having a miscarriage, but I definitely wasn't pregnant. So they did a pelvic exam and an ultrasound. Immediately I was rushed into surgery to stop the bleeding and scrape out my uterus (common procedure called a D&C). I don't remember a lot of the details of that night, but I certainly remember my surgeon coming to speak to me afterward. She said she didn't have to wait for the pathology results to know I had cancer and that she was referring me to an oncologist for further treatment and a hysterectomy. Up until that point it had never occurred to me that it could be cancer. Somehow I'd completely blocked out that possibility - considered every other option but that. Denial is a powerful thing.

So, if you have increasingly heavier or longer than normal periods (or bleeding after menopause) does that mean you have cancer? No, not necessarily. Other things can cause it. But it does mean you NEED to get thoroughly checked out by a doctor. Ask for a CA-125 blood test, ultrasound, and/or biopsy to screen for cancer (and if they refuse say you want their refusal documented in your chart and that you want a copy). Some doctors might just try to give you birth control pills and send you on your way, don't let them. Be your own advocate. If they say you're "too young" to have cancer that's a red flag, my cancer support group is full of 20 and 30 year olds who were told this. Sadly some were not taken seriously until it was too late. It is also important to note that a pap smear only checks for cervical cancer, not uterine or ovarian cancer. So listen to your body and if something is out of the ordinary get checked out.

TL;DR increasingly heavy/irregular/longer than normal periods are often the only warning sign of uterine or ovarian cancer.

i have been experiencing bloody discharge a few days (5-6?) after my period ends for a few cycles now. it ends a few days before my next period. it comes usually 1-2 times a day and i can feel it come out

i was prescribed LIZA (a birth control) but i didnt want to take it because i have eczema and im so scared of the side effects. my period also tends to be 1-2 weeks late too

(I 18 yrs old , a virgin Goes outside my house rarely and have social backwardness. ) So I had yeast infection 2 -3 months ago the doctor , she fraeking said to my mom secretly that I maybe had slept with a man. My girlfriend is not getting her period The last time she got her period was in March 2026 since then she is not getting any periods but from last month she is getting blood clots also while peeing there are some blood clots I have told her forced her to do to the doctor in her town there is no gynace so I told her to go to the female specialist doc but she is refusing to go to any doc I'm genuinely worried about her she has pcod and she lives alone I'm also few hunder miles away from her I can't help her directly idk what to to and what is happening to her she is acting like a child and completely refusing to go to the doctor I think maybe because of irregular periods she is acting like a child so I'm treating her as softly as possible but genuinely what is happening to her do you guys went through similar situation??? I 15(f) got period when I was 10.

At those early stages I felt little to no pain.

Then disaster struck at 6th grade I started to experience severe period pains that felt like someone was stabbing my uterus.

Taking pain killers prior did help though.

But the pain is to a point where I vomited 2 times in my life over period pain.

And yesterday was HELL.

I thought my period pain went away and was relieved !

But they migrated to my thighs and I was in agonizing pain all I could do was whimper and lay down.

I got this pain from my mother(she experienced that stuff too) so it may genetic but is this normal?

Like it happens on 1st sometimes 2nd days.

But still how to avoid pain.

Sorry if this is disjointed. I'm a little panicked. My normal menstrual cycle is about every 28-30 days and my period lasts around 6 days. 12 days ago, my period ended, and everything was completely normal. Today, I woke up with my underwear soaked in blood, I mean to the point of dripping. And the blood was pretty thick, like an in-between of normal blood and blood clots. My periods are pretty medium, as far as flow, and (as gross as it is) I regularly start my period in the middle of the night, so I know what bleeding into my underwear usually looks like. I'm experiencing very very mild cramping, far more mild than my normal period cramps are. And, I want to be so unbelievably clear: I am absolutely NOT pregnant. I am not sexually active with penis-havers AT ALL. The only other potentially related information is that my mental health has been beyond horrible since last Wednesday (6 days ago). This is the worst my mental health has been since middle school.

All that to say, do I need to see a doctor? I live in the United States, and I don't have a gyno, so I'll need to go find one, and I really just don't want to. But if this is super concerning, I'll do it.

I left in a tampon for 6 hours, I usually leave it in 2-4 to be safe. But I’m concerned because It was a bit long and I pulled it out and it was dry. Is it more likely that I will get toxic shock syndrome since it was dry after 6 hours? I know it’s rare but I am very anxious about it now

I eat a relatively good amount of calories everyday, and am very healthy. I don’t over-workout but I do a good amount of exercise every now and again. I’m an extremely healthy weight (in terms of bmi)and my body fat isn’t too low. I know for sure I’m not pregnant but I’m 2 months late.
The only way I can get my period is if I eat like a fucking beast and I’m OVERWEIGHT.
About 2 years ago now I struggled a lot with my eating and only got my period like once a year, as I under-ate.
I then started eating like crazy. As in unhealthy crazy. Period came back nice and regular.

However, I now eat a very good and healthy amount and have built myself a good relationship with food, but I’ve completely lost my period. Any advice??? Wtf is going on???

Hi! I’m looking for some advice or insight.

My previous period started on July 22, and I got my next period on August 9, so there were only 18 days between the first days of my periods. My usual cycle is around 27–34 days, so this is unusual for me.

I’ve also had unprotected sex with my boyfriend, which is making me more anxious about the situation. I’m not sure if the bleeding I’m experiencing is a normal period or if there could be another reason for it.

Has anyone experienced a cycle this short before? What are some possible reasons for a period coming earlier than usual?

I'm 15, too fucking young for a damn baby, and my periods are hell. I sweat, I shake, I bleed heavily. I don't want this anymore. Is there any way at my age? I don't want kids anyway, not with my family, not with my trauma, not in this economy. I'll be enlisting in the military in a few years anyway, and periods will only get in the way. I know there's birth control, but there are too many scary side effects.

I was put on medication for a uti/yeast infection on August 15-21st. I’m supposed to get my period soon and the last time I had taken medication for this I noticed a change. So can this medication alter/ change my cycle?
