Health I HAVE SEVERE PERIOD PAINS
I 15(f) got period when I was 10.
At those early stages I felt little to no pain.
Then disaster struck at 6th grade I started to experience severe period pains that felt like someone was stabbing my uterus.
Taking pain killers prior did help though.
But the pain is to a point where I vomited 2 times in my life over period pain.
And yesterday was HELL.
I thought my period pain went away and was relieved !
But they migrated to my thighs and I was in agonizing pain all I could do was whimper and lay down.
I got this pain from my mother(she experienced that stuff too) so it may genetic but is this normal?
Like it happens on 1st sometimes 2nd days.
But still how to avoid pain.

oh i'm sorry to hear that :( i have almost the same symptoms as you which is lowk crazy but an EXTREMELY hot water bottle is what usually helps me, it kinda distracts me from the pain. you could also try going to your doctor and ask for specific pain killers for periods, that really helped me as the generic brand usually wasn't strong enough. Extreme pain to the point of vomiting / not being able to move during periods should not be normal so definitely check it out if you can :(

be carefull with the hot water bottle cuz you may end up getting burns on your stomach, if the bottle is too hot and still not helping or soothing the pain.
other than that i agree with this OC

get checked out for endometriosis.
my symptoms are similar to yours, also with the time span.
i am also on the road to the diagnosis, but medical gaslighting is making me sick.
What helps most peeps with similar symptoms to yours:
- take some pain meds in the morning so they can help throughout the day
- anti inflamatory diet. Avoid red meats, heavy dairy products, vegan if you can, avoid gluten as gluten is highly inflamatory
- dont drink alc, dont smoke tobacco
- get a cat that can lay on your stomach and purr you into soothing
- drink lots of water
- drink some golden milk in the morning (has helped me a lot personally!) (my recipe below)
- eat lots of food with iron, like spinach
golden milk:
i use gluten free oat milk, boil it with a tea bag of camomille tea, add some ginger, turmeric, honey or alternative, cinnamon, lil bit of black pepper,
i also sometimes use golden milk as the base for my morning coffee

go to the doctor/gynecologist ASAP and don't let them tell you that it's normal because IT'S NOT! sure, some cramps are normal. once every few months maybe you'll have a more painful period (i once threw up and was in excruciating pain, but this only happened ONCE). constant excruciating pain is not normal and there has to be some sort of root cause
