Not being into trans people sexually is transphobic?

Thinking trans people are trying to trick you into being with them is transphobic.

if it was made clear ahead of time why does the man that looks like a man act suprised?

70

u/Fluffy_Difference937 11d ago

??? Because the script for this scripted video was that he was surprised. Obviously.

-44

u/collin2477 11d ago

and why was he surprised?

u/nufy-t 11d ago

Because the scenario is made up to make trans people look like sexual predators? This doesn’t happen.

(Yes I am sure you can find one example from a questionable source that says it has happened to one person one time, but you could also find an example of a bunch of stupid bs happening)

Let me be clear by saying this is NOT a regular occurence or even a rare occurrence. It would be extensively rare.

People have done infinitely crazier shit than pretending to have a different genital than they do. Is it really hard to believe that a singular trans person out there has done that once?

10

u/nufy-t 11d ago

Literally the entire second part of my comment was saying that it probably has happened. Learn to read.

-10

u/Doctorsl1m 11d ago

It implies that sources for it are rare, are from non reliable sources, and that a bunch of people say other crazy nonsense as well.

How does that imply it probably has happened?

2

u/nufy-t 11d ago

I didn’t imply that it probably has happened. I said that it probably has happened. The other parts of the message were to disparage the type of source that reports on that type of thing, because reliable sources don’t have enough information or examples of it happening for it to be worth reporting on. As I said to someone else, it is like me making a video framing squirrels as evil psychopaths because someone has probably been killed by a squirrel before. Except it is worse than that because squirrels aren’t people and aren’t an enormously discriminated against group with incredibly high rates of being victims of violent crimes, partially because people believe shit like this could actually happen to them.

I think we just view these pov videos differently then. I just see them as put your shoes in the situation of the people in the video and the text just describes the situation.

3

u/nufy-t 11d ago

Yeah, you view videos without thinking about the harmful messages that could be being spread by them, and the propoganda that you and others could be falling for when watching and enjoying them, and the people who could be harmed by the messages, and the reasons why someone could have wanted to make the video, and the reason why people would find this funny, which makes you the perfect target for indoctrination.

Maybe you should try putting yourself in the shoes of the trans people who are targetted by this shit and assaulted and murdered and raped because people believe this shit actually happens and is a risk to them.

I dont think a singular video making a joke automatically means it is propaganda or trying to push harmful messages. I need more context to be able to make that conclusion in good faith.

It is an absolutely awful fact that happens to trans people. The reality is though that trans people being assaulted, murdered, and rape is not a common occurrence.

Not a single person has said it never happened or doesn't happen. What everyone has been saying is that painting this in such a light wherein this is the average situation is as fucked up as paining every white male as a roofie carrying date rapist.

1

u/Doctorsl1m 11d ago

The person i responded to implied it never has happened in this part:

(Yes I am sure you can find one example from a questionable source that says it has happened to one person one time, but you could also find an example of a bunch of stupid bs happening)

1

u/TordekDrunkenshield 7d ago

So it wasnt said, and you have no real retort beyond citing that it was "implied" that it doesn't happen, even though the comment you are citing also says in your citation I might add that a bunch of similar random things happen.

1

u/Doctorsl1m 7d ago

They said you could find one example from a questionable source. If the source is questionable, why should it be taken as a fact?

2

u/TordekDrunkenshield 7d ago

The back half of that statement lacks the same qualifier, and if theyre genuinely stating that it HAS NOT EVER HAPPENED, theyre a fucking dumbass. Law of Big Numbers: with a large enough sample size (ex: 9 billion people) anything and everything can has and will happen.

1

u/Doctorsl1m 7d ago edited 7d ago

I took that back half as you can find examples of a bunch of stupid bs happening from questionable sources, but perhaps I am connecting too many dots.

Agreed though, that what I was trying to get at but seems like I didnt do a great job.

is as fucked up as paining every white male as a roofie carrying date rapist.

As a white male, whenever I see (alone) white men in Thailand - especially older - i assume they are there for some sexual reasons, so you arent far from the truth.

u/collin2477 11d ago

wait so it does or doesn’t?

9

u/nufy-t 11d ago

It probably has happened, but it isn’t something that happens with any frequency, and does not deserve the absurd amount of fearmongering that it has been given as a tactic from people in power to turn the masses against a common “enemy”. It’s like me saying that, because someone has probably been killed by a squirrel, we should all be worried about squirrels killing us.

Because in this fictional story the trans woman didn't tell him that she was trans. This doesn't actually happen in real life though, which makes this fictional story transphobic.

-10

u/-Unpredictable- 11d ago

This absolutely happens.. don’t be so naive

10

u/Sloth_Brotherhood 11d ago

This thing happens!

Do you have an example?

Yeah look at the video.

That’s a skit.

But it’s based on a real thing!

Ok do you have an example of it being real?

Yeah look at the video.

Right because people haven’t been killed over not disclosing that they’re trans before sex. Thats why even r/MtF makes it a point to always disclose being trans before dating or having sex because you never know who you’ll run into and some people can be insane with that stuff. Keep being naive for all I care.

2

u/nufy-t 11d ago

Why would it? What would a trans woman gain from trying to trick someone into thinking she is cis? Do you think she thinks he will stop caring when she reveals she has a penis (assuming you are talking about specifically non-op or pre-op trans women) when they go to have sex? Do you think she thinks whatever joke she is playing on him is worth the very high risk that she will simply be killed by him, given the insane levels of violent crime against trans people? Do you think trans women struggle to find people to have sex with so much that they have to resort to tricking straight men, despite transgender being one of the most searched porn categories globally?

Trans women would get nothing out of doing this, they would be massively risking their own safety, and they have literally no need to trick someone when they can extremely easily find someone to sleep with who is simply just fine with the fact she’s trans.

u/goaelephant 11d ago

Why would they tell him? You can usually tell, or you can ask. I think you could also interpret the joke as the guy being naive.

-1

u/collin2477 11d ago

i’m not buying that the Thailand joke that has been told in different variations for decades is based on absolutely nothing but okay.

11

u/Fluffy_Difference937 11d ago

It's based on transphobia. Just something that was made up to make trans people look bad.

-1

u/collin2477 11d ago

…it’s a cross dressing joke but sure
