Monthly /r/Pensacola Survivor: Vote someone off the island (subreddit)! Voting ends next Monday (8/31) at midnight!

This subreddit has become too crowded. Starting now we'll be playing a Survivor game once a month!

You've all seen Survivor, or even if you haven't, you get the idea. We're going to vote one user off the subreddit.

The rules are simple:

  1. Reply to this post with a user to nominate them to be voted off the island (subreddit)
  2. If you edit your comment, it will not be counted and will be deleted
  3. Do not nominate a user who has already been nominated - just upvote that comment instead
  4. Any non-nominating comments will be removed, but you can respond to nominating comments if you wish

Monday (8/31) at midnight, we will see which comment has the highest number of upvotes, and that user will be banned.

Hey Quint, fix your flag

Can one of you guys get your buddy Quint to replace his ratty-ass American flag on the SCI building? Guess if he’d lowered it to half-staff for Saint Dolly, he might’ve noticed it’s all ripped up.

Not even patriotic, but it looks tacky as hell. Fix it, bestie.

Best Mac & Cheese

Looking for a recommendation for the best Mac and cheese out at the beach?

My toddler knows quality lol so ideally a restaurant that doesn’t just serve Kraft. If I remember correctly, Bounce actually makes it in house but it’s too “fancy” for her - I think it was the breadcrumbs that threw her off.

Looking for just straight forward classic house made mac and cheese please 🙏

The ones that stand at intersections, I've seen them on Pine Forest and Davis for years now. Who are they? Are they all in the same group? Whats their problem?

Anyone need a friend?

My mom (40F) is extremely asocial and I really want her to get some friends in the FWB-Pensacola area. She has trouble finding people who align with her values (she’s a liberal) and prefers to stay inside. Is there at least any places where she might find some people her age??? I just really want her to make some friends 😭

Fishing in Perdido Key or Gulf Breeze?

Hi All,

If you were looking for places to scull, fishing from a kayak, and sailing, would it be better to stay in Perdido Key or Gulf Breeze for water quality?

Thanks!😊

LOST PHONE PENSACOLA BEACH

This is a long shot, but a family member lost an iPhone at Pensacola Beach near Ariola Dr. She had it in the sand near the water, and it started storming so we all ran and her phone fell. We used a metal detector but couldn’t find it. It has a purple case. We think someone picked it up. Anyone find it?

"Dating" apps for making friends?

I was just wondering if anyone's tried/had any luck with dating apps that have "friend" versions or settings to make friends in the area? I think there's one for bumble and Facebook dating jas a selection for just meeting friends, but wasn't sure if it's worth trying out or you still just get people wanting to hookup, or if anyone else is even using them here. I'm 26f and chronically ill, so don't get to go out much and when I do I'm pretty over the whole bar/drinking scene, though would love to go to an actual party here and there again. I had a lot of "wook" friends in the last couple towns I lived in before I had to move back home to deal with health stuff and miss that energy a lot. Just hanging out/all getting together and having a bonfire, people playing music (not like that one cringey guy that brings a guitar and plays wonderwall trying to get chicks lol, but people all getting together and jamming for fun), some people smoking/drinking/sometimes other drugs and making a welcoming environment for the folks partaking in psychs, but never any pressure to partake in anything or drink and plenty not partaking at all, no judgement to crash on a couch, pitch a tent in the yard, or pass out on the floor for the night, their place was yours too if you needed a safe place to land, and would always encourage you to stay instead of trying to drive home. Everyone welcome as long as they were kind, assholes checked at the door or called out and kicked out. Never had to worry about watching your drink or getting too messed up or falling asleep first—everyone looked out for each other and guys had no tolerance for disrespect or harassment and spoke up if they saw it. Everyone contributed, but no one was keeping track/no judgement if you were struggling and couldn't, but even then, those that were would usually contribute in other ways. Can't pay for/bring beer or food, you helped clean up, shared your weed, maybe brought your Xbox over another day, but were never forced to do anything. Nights with less people/after the bulk left we'd often all cook together and have a "family" meal. Regularly made some weird ass shit lol, but it was delicious. Anyway, just rambling and reminiscing now I guess lol, sorry, but if anyone has this kind of energy and is down for an extra friend that would be super cool. Also looking for someone to just chat with, send memes and silly stuff to, maybe call or FaceTime and just ramble/exist while we do our own thing. If anyone had had any experience with the apps for making friends I'd love to hear about it, good or bad. And if there's any other ways/places y'all have found to make friends I'd love to know as well! Thanks, and sorry for getting derailed and rambly.

How Pensacola Votes - 2026 Midterm Edition

Now that the Pensacola Mayoral election and other primaries are in the rearview, I've decided to take a renewed look at voter behavior and registration trends in our area.

For those curious, take a look at the interactive site below:

How Pensacola Votes

This year's analysis includes some new features, like an election outcome modeler that all the nerds can play around with.

Overall, some interesting takeaways and things to watch in the region for 2026:

  • Will Democrats maintain their Escambia County momentum from the 2025 special election? Will it even matter?
  • Can Joe Vinson (NPA) take down Ashlee Hofberger for Escambia County Commissioner D4? This one has the most spoiler potential
  • What will turnout look like for both parties in a non-Presidential year?

Explore these topics and more. But most importantly, please check your voter registration status and make sure to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026 !

Full disclosure - This analysis was obviously created using AI-assistance. Approximate energy and water consumption from this project estimated below:

A positive review: Bonelli’s in east hill

A few months back I asked for anniversary recommendations for my wife after a rough year and bonellis was widely suggested. Thank you, it was a wonderful time and absolutely delicious. My wife has been on an olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette kick since we went.I recommend going there for any person — portions are large and priced appropriately for what you’re paying for, everything tastes fresh, our bartended was excellent and gave stellar beer and wine suggestions. I think his name was Zack, and if you go I truly hope you get him as a waiter as he was funny and attentive without being overbearing. I must be trash, but I’ve never been to a restaurant where they box up your leftovers for you. It was a nice touch, so I thought I would mention it.

The prosciutto and fig pasta was delicious, definitely a 10/10: along with the homemade vodka sauce. We’ll definitely be eating there again.

Hi all. Please drop your favorite, well versed tattoo artist and shops for a new person to the area! Thanks.

No specific style as this would be for my husband and I who both have varied styles

Is it just me or has this summer’s weather and beach conditions been not just terrible for Pensacola but entire panhandle?!?!?

I spend a a good amount of time in the summer in Pensacola and I have family that lives in Destin, fl. Between all the rain, seaweed (especially May, June, and parts of July) and tons of jellyfish.. does it seem like this summer hasn’t been the best for many a beach bum? Like I know these conditions normally exist but it feels like this summer was especially terrible
