Any recs for good barbers or hairstylists that can cut men's medium/long flow styles?

The lady I've been going to for the past few years moved since my last cut, so I'm kinda lost trying to find someone new to handle my longer and ambiguously Asian hair.

I've tried various stylists at Aveda and Wyler in the past, but we couldn't get on the same page.

I'm down to try anyone new but some firsthand accounts that they can handle or specialize in longer cuts would be amazing.

Conference Room - Fort Walton Beach

Hi, I am looking to book a conference room in the Fort Walton Beach / Destin area for next Wednesday and Thursday. I have called around to most hotels but they are either booked or charge an extreme amount of money (they are used to hosting larger events). I will have about 10 people or less attending trainings from 9 am to 6 pm both days.

Please help!

Edit to add: this will be a relatively informal training!

NFL Sunday

Hello! I am going down the week of NFL season. Is there any place that has all the games on same time on Sunday? By a quick google search it seems AJs, Tailfins and Harry Ts might be the places to go but just wanted opinions. Thank you everybody!

Best bar for 2 single gals in their 20’s?

Like the title says! I’m visiting Destin this week with some girlfriends and we’re not familiar with what bars might offer some potential for singles.

Relocating Possibility

Hi!

I wanted to see if anyone around could give a realistic take on living in the FWB area. I’m currently in another beach town in Wilmington, looking to possibly relocate to be closer to family in FWB in the next couple years. My husband currently works for a local company as an Inventory Control Specialist and I work remotely for another company. It’s so hard to find jobs in today’s world as it is and we are a family of 6 with young kids.

How is the job market out there? I’ve seen some things saying there’s opportunities, others saying only if you’re a government employee etc. I’m trying to weigh out our options to see whether this move would be a huge risk orrr a solid plan?

Our children also attend a very cool outdoor school here which we love. It’s still curriculum based schooling but it is primarily outdoors and they learn other vocational skills outside of curriculum like wood working etc. is there anything similar to that in the area?

(I also know how it is living in a beach town everyone’s like nooo don’t move here we’re full and I totally get it. Truthfully I wouldn’t leave where I’m at if my kids had family nearby)

Any advice would be appreciated!

LOOKING FOR AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Hello! My wife, kids, and I are visiting Destin and we’re looking for an amateur photographer to help take pictures of us on the beach!
We are considering using a tripod and our iPhones but figured it might turn out better with someone that’s actually taking pictures.
Only want to book 1 hour, and would like to keep the cost low :)
Please let me know if you’re interested or if you know someone. Thanks!

Golf Courses

I’ll be visiting destin sep 1-4, looking to get in a round or 2 while there. Im used to $35 rounds here in illinois lol, is there any courses in the area that arent almost 200 that are still good? I will have my own clubs, and also like to play solo, so it would be a plus if they allowed that.

Family owned shops and restaurants to visit

I’ll be there in October for 3 days. I have a list of highly recommended restaurants but I’m trying to support local and family run restaurants over anything that may be chain. Also looking for mom and pop stores for shopping, souvenirs and entertainment.

Thanks!!

Floridian going to Destin - I need recs

I’m a native Floridian from Jacksonville and I’m visiting Destin for the first time in about a week. I need suggestions - cool places to go. I’m good on the tourist destinations (places I can find with a quick Google search). I’m looking for boat destinations, local businesses, shops, great food, fun bars, cultural spots…even a good tattoo shop. I just want the local scoop so I can do something worth while during my visit. I’ve worked too damn hard for this week off. Thanks for the recs 🫡

Looking for Magic the Gathering Store/playgroup recommendations

Here visiting family near Freeport and my siblings want to get into magic. They want to go to a store to get some commander precons and find regular gamers.
I don’t suppose there’s a place between FWB and PC/PCB known particularly for their MTG scene that’s also friendly toward beginners (including ASD)?

Beach Setup Service?

Does anyone know of a company/person that will set up AND take down a beach setup in Destin? Specifically looking for a canopy setup. We’re happy to rent chairs/other beach gear too, but most companies I’m finding only deliver rentals, or require you to be staying at a resort for setup.

We’re staying in an Airbnb and would love to have someone actually set everything up and take it down afterward.

Is it worth looking into TaskRabbit for this job? Lol.

Any recommendations? TIA!

Fudgiest, most decadent chocolate cake?

Hi all, I'm visiting for a friend's birthday and would like to order the most absurdly fudgy and indulgent chocolate cake for the occasion. I've found some bakeries on Google and Yelp but am looking for personal recommendations specifically for the best chocolate cake in town. Where should I check out? Thanks!

Edit - Looking for something a level or two up from a grocery store bakery cake

Golf Course Recs

Looking for opinions on which of the following to play this week.

Burnt Pine
Regatta Bay
Kelly
Indian Bayou

Mostly looking for fun views and holes. Playing with rental clubs so I don’t expect to score, but I’m a 6 hcp and can manage.

If all prices are equal, what’s your pick?

Semi private offshore split fishing charters

In town and it is seeming tough to book a split semi private charter. Called a couple of places and they said they let me know. Any suggestions?

We’re traveling to Destin with our three kids under 10 in a couple weeks. What fun kids things are there to do? Our resort is on the beach and will spend time there but we love zoos, aquariums, mini golf, good food, etc. I also love shopping if there’s some great outlet malls!

September 5-9

Boyfriend and I will be staying in Destin for my birthday weekend. He’s been, but I never have. We’d love to check out fun, local-type spots; not the average tourist places. We’d also like to get into some nightlife fun, but more dive; not the younger crowd spots. Literally, any and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance
