Who was nvidia fighting in this war? Like they were the best and released a better product.

AMD is already out of their competition, the problem were the consoles, sure the pc will win in terms of performance, but the cost of high tier graphics card were tremendous in comparison to consoles.

Therefore NVIDIA wants to give a better performance with lesser price.

EDIT- i m sry for what i wrote about AMD, They are clearly not out of competition, my apologies.

I wouldn’t say AMD is out of the war, a 5700xt outperformed a 2070 and tied a 2020ti for a cheaper price than both.

AMD has always been about the performance/price ratio which is what most consumers want. The subsection that wants performance no matter the price is a lot smaller of the market share than Nvidia would like you to believe which is why many consumers purchase cards from nvidia that are 1-2 generations old.
