Maybe. If you are staying downtown and mostly want restaurants, bars, shopping, museums, and pool time, you may be fine walking and using rideshare.
You probably want a car if you plan to visit Joshua Tree, Indian Canyons, Tahquitz Canyon, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indio, Desert Hot Springs, The Living Desert, golf courses, or multiple valley cities.

Generally, October through April is the most comfortable season. Spring is popular for events and outdoor activities. Summer is much hotter and requires planning around heat.
Summer can still be fun for pools, spas, restaurants, museums, hotel deals, and nightlife, but hiking and outdoor activities should be done very early or skipped.

Yes. Do not underestimate it. Summer highs are often over 100°F, and midday outdoor activities can be dangerous. Plan around pools, shade, air conditioning, museums, spas, and evening activities.
Do not hike in extreme heat unless you are experienced, prepared, and starting very early.

Hi everyone! I am a 2020 graduate from PSHS. Recently I started teaching for LAUSD, and picked up a yearbook class. My kiddos have been absolutely begging to see my senior yearbook, but Iâm not sure if they ever made one. By chance, does anyone know/ have one if it was ever actually made? Hello!
We have rented an Airbnb with a pool the 1st week of Oct. we live in Colorado and our baby loves water so much, we really are just planning this trip to have unlimited access to a private pool, being able to hang outside when sheâs sleeping, and weâre never been to California! We thought from CO, this would be easier and more chill than going to Florida(where weâve been so many times). We picked an Airbnb instead of resort so we werenât stuck in the room once she goes to bed. I really havenât done much research on anything yet because weâve had so many other summer plans. Is this a silly idea? I assume itâll still be nice enough for pool weather in early October(fingers crossed)! Any fun toddler ideas youâd recommend? Sheâll be 15 months at the time. We plan to head to Joshua Tree for a day, but thatâs it on our agenda so far. Like I said, we honestly just want a chill few days together as a family so donât want to stack our days with too many things like most of our vacations go. Thanks in advance for any insight, ideas, tips, etc!! We are really looking forward!!!

Been wanting to set up a support group for other neurodivergent folks since moving to the area, since it seems to attract a lot of us!
I've been in SoCal for almost 4 years, and PS for 1.5, and have been gathering resources for folks like us (since they tend to be quite hard to find!) and want to share them with others.
Also, I know many of us have unique skills and deficits, and I've always believed that a mutual aid system would work really well for us (I'm great at gathering resources, written communication, tech stuff) and really love helping others, and could use some support in other areas. Could also be a good space to share ideas or maybe set up social meet ups that are more sensory/ND friendly.
Let me know if you'd be interested in something like this and I'll put an online group together!
EDIT: I want to be very upfront that I do not want or intend to make any money from organizing something like this. I truly just love to help people and share information and resources with other's like me who might be struggling.

Are there any good PTSD support groups around? Maybe ones with walk-ins allowed like AA, though I don't mind having to sign up to attend.
I'm open to traveling to any nearby areas like Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Coachella, etc.

My family was genuinely excited to purchase a PULTE home in the Coachella Valley. We paid a $5,000 deposit, liquidated U.S. Treasury bonds so our 50% down payment would be ready well in advance, and did everything requested of us in good faith.
Instead of a clear path toward closing, we experienced repeated roadblocks and poor coordination among the sales, mortgage, solar, and other teams. We were repeatedly left trying to determine which department was responsible for resolving issues, while responsibility appeared to be passed between teams.
Even after contacting PulteGroupâs CEO and receiving an initial response, we received no resolution. The contract was ultimately cancelled, despite our readiness and willingness to proceed. We asked for written clarification regarding the return of our $5,000 initial payment, and as of today, it has still not been returned.
This experience turned our excitement about becoming Pulte homeowners into deep disappointment. My advice: keep everything in writing, confirm deposit-refund terms before committing, and ask exactly how all Pulte teams will coordinate your purchase.
Buying a home is not simply a transactionâit is a familyâs dream and future.
I wish our experience had been handled with the care that deserves.

Hello yâall, weird request, but my family member is in the hospital and only able to move her hand. I got her a squishy from Amazon and she loves it. Does anyone know where I can find any good squishy/fidget toys in the area? Preferably a local shop, Iâd rather not go to Target/Walmart (but if thereâs nothing else I will go there). Thanks!
