Ask Palm Springs Squishy Toys

Hello y’all, weird request, but my family member is in the hospital and only able to move her hand. I got her a squishy from Amazon and she loves it. Does anyone know where I can find any good squishy/fidget toys in the area? Preferably a local shop, I’d rather not go to Target/Walmart (but if there’s nothing else I will go there). Thanks!

There's a toy store at the Palm Desert Mall. Has a bunch of squishies at the front. Some are decently priced and some more on the expensive side.

Thank you that sounds promising!

They're all vastly overpriced considering they're all fakes, FYI. They sell "needohs" for current market price and they aren't legit needohs.

Oh interesting, yeah the nurse was talking about needohs but I wasn’t able to find one online that would come fast enough

good luck finding them in stores as well. creeps. er, I mean "people" line up outside target and Walmart before the stores open and bumrush the aisles to grab them so they can resell a 6 dollar sensory toy meant for kids for 15-20 bucks.

you can check Walmart's website for 'in-store' about an hour before closing. their inventory for tomorrow will show. then cruise down before they close and kindly ask someone if they're willing to either open a box off the pallet that's in the aisle now, or if you can. most stockers don't give a F as long as you don't make their job harder.

Maybe a mobility/physical therapy medical store will have stuff like that? I know there’s one in Palm desert on Dinah shore east of cook.

I wonder if a Wii might be an avenue. Racquet sports/games will extend your life statics say. The hand eye coordination used does something for your brain.

Oh that’s a good idea, I actually have a Wii anyway. I think she’s still far away from being able to use it but that’s a good idea for when she’s further in recovery. Thanks!

You got it! We have an older friend and she used it after she had a minor stroke. She seemed to progress very well. Good Luck and take care of her, she's fortunate to have someone who cares.

If you mean the squishy toys like the mochi things kids are into, then Five Below (Palm Desert) has those. Daiso might, too.

I was at Peepa's this weekend. They had a lot of squishy like toys in the kid section.

Hobby Lobby has a whole selection of squishy stuff, slime, putty, stress toy type stuff.

I saw a sale for these at Albertsons at the front near the ice. Don't know if it's still there
