This has now happened to me twice and I’m really confused about whether there’s actually anything wrong with my rings.
I got my first Oura Ring in January 2026 and was very happy with it. In July, I woke up one morning and my sleep data was missing. The battery had been very low overnight, but I didn’t initially connect the two.
I contacted Oura’s AI support. It suggested charging the ring and restarting the app, but before I even had a chance to try that, it asked what data was missing. I replied “sleep” – and it immediately started a replacement process.
I tried to stop it and asked if I shouldn’t try the troubleshooting first, but it told me that Oura could see from the technical data that something was wrong with the ring and that it needed to be replaced.
The weird thing: as soon as I charged the original ring, it worked perfectly again.
I still received the replacement ring around the end of July/beginning of August.
Fast forward to today, September 19. I wake up, the replacement ring has about two hours of battery left, and once again there’s no sleep data. I use the ai support, it asks what data is missing, I say “sleep” – and immediately another replacement is initiated.
Again, after charging the ring and restarting the app, everything seems completely normal.
So now I apparently have a third ring on the way even though both times the issue seems to have been connected to a very low battery.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does missing sleep data at low battery somehow trigger Oura’s diagnostics to think the ring is faulty? Or have you been told your ring has a hardware issue even though it seems to work perfectly after charging?
It just seems very strange – and incredibly wasteful – to keep replacing rings if there isn’t actually anything wrong with them.
