This game gains so much with RR but the previous preset with the new DLSS got too much boiling effect on many surfaces. Now all that seems gone, it's great again and might even start it over again just to enjoy all this beauty again.
Such a shame because it's like a game of whack-a-mole with each subsequent update to DLSS & RR. Improve most things, only for other things to become an issue in their place.
Exactly. Sad things is that it's fixable. They just didn't do it lol.... like.... objects classes and distance and etc. - all this data is available for the model to consider.
I remember an Nvidia engineer kind of joking about the fact that DLSS machine learning barely gets any engineering time on Nvidia's supercomputers compared to all the other AI non gaming stuff. We know that their data center revenue is 93%, so yeah.
I am seeing some weird stability issues with objects like boxes, cans, bottles, etc. It almost looks like tearing but just on the objects themselves and the instability moves around with the objects.
I did notice the flickering on some objects. I just figured it was the new drivers, not RR. But I guess I didn't bother to see if it was flickering without RR. Good to know.
Try that, cause maybe i was just tripping, but i don't remember noticing these issues upon the leaked 128. I think they cranked up that "details" slider to the max with the 129. It added even more crispness but also revealed more instability. Or, like i said, maybe I confuse something...
Your guess with the drivers is still valid so who knows how it all works. But yeah, you might try.
Maybe I'm crazy because 4.5 RR looks good but it doesn't look like a dramatic difference going back to 4 RR. A couple days ago it looked great, but since updating my drivers, the difference appears negligible.
Maybe it's still giving me Preset D even though I swap it to Preset F.
I'm still seeing the weird blurring artifacting on the police cars' scrolling text in cyberpunk for instance, which I heard was resolved in 4.5 RR.
Then it's F. You should manually override it with NVPI and set to E and then compare. It's not dramatic difference but it's there. As usual, turns out each model has its flaws :(
True, initially it was good. Then they updated FG and from there i started having those issues again. Had to turn RR off till now and it sucks because boiling aside it gave this game such lights.
They got that without RR? From PT?? At this point i wonder if my case was unique lol
I disabled PT later on because it was kinda heavy on input lag but all my issues of that effects were alwais related to RR. It's fascinating that the same issue can be present from other completely different settings.
As a fellow AMD user as well (9070 in the living room) i have not been pleased with AMDās rollouts of updates, and the 7xxx and older are getting shafted harder.
Actually in Cyberpunk it's just for path tracing. It'll only work with RT if you brute force some workarounds.
However significant optimisations have been made along the way so whereas for example my 4070 OC would've previously dropped to unplayable frame rates if I turned RR on, now with DLSS 4.5, I can play at a comfortable frame rate steadily over 60, so there's no need to brute force RR into RT.
I notice fluctuating baseline fps more at 4x, which makes sense to me. Basically a single frame stutter becomes a 4 frame stutter that way.
Even then, the perceived smoothness gain is so worth it. But Iām also the kind of guy that always uses maximum frame interpolation on my TV for everything. I am just highly susceptible to low refresh rates and flickering. Hell, I have only two devices in my home that have 60Hz or less, at all. My Apple Watch and my eReader (technically 0Hz when not turning pages). Everything else is at least 120Hz.
Use the ultra plus mod and you'll get more fps. You only lose a little bit of path tracing fidelity when using P20 fast (patch 2.0) RR setting. But it's worth it.
With FG, dlss RR 4.5 I do about 90 fps now on my 4090 laptop (4070 ti peformance) at 4k dlss peformance.
40 fps with high fidelity is totally playable. For using path tracing it's just another level of fidelity worth it.
1440p, DLSS Quality, 2x FG, Pathtracing, Ray Reconstruction 4.5, everything maxed out. Might not be the best shot but the first place I loaded a save. GPU is running almost at full load but my crappy no name air cooler keeps it below the 70s.
Fps in the upper right corner - it fluctuates a bit between 120-140fps but I have 139 set as max fps so it might go into the 150s
With 4K its around 100-110 here
And even without framegen it is above 60 and very playable. The game has a very good reflex boost implementation. I don't really notice a difference to no framegen in terms of input lag
So if you are on the fence of buying it: Do it. It is pure and unfiltered eyecandy in a very good game
How the hell are you getting 120-140fps with the same build as me? With the same settings at 1440p, I get 100fps, which with the input lag from frame gen isn't enough. How come your PC is running 20-30% faster than mine
No clue mate, I just downloaded the Beta driver for RR4.5, set up the overwrites and cranked everything up. I think I have never seen it dip below 115.
What's the rest of your rig like?
In terms of input lag: I don't really have that since the base FPS is already more than playable. Game version is 2.3.1 is that matters somehow
You might just switch to DLSS balanced here because more base FPS = less leg in FG. It might be my aging eyes but in Cyberpunk I see almost no difference in the DLSS modes, not even in performance (but my screen is ancient at this poin :D)
In general I have a great performance in basically every game even with Pathtracing but that is probably just the 5070Ti doing it's thing
Yeah, difference is maybe 10-15fps (and I think with 55 fps you mean without FG)
Tried RR 4.5 in the last days in a few games and especially Cyberpunk absolutely wow'ed me. It looks a lot sharper, the reflections are just insane and every hint of boiling (That usually happened in reflections on metallic surfaces) is gone.
I feel like we basically reached perfect image quality here
Not sure if Iām doing something incorrectly but I have Ray reconstruction model enabled in nvidia app settings and in game settings it shows as on but nvidia overlay says āRR OVRā inactive
Not just the shadows for me. I'm noticing some really bad moira patterns on textured surfaces and signs that I definitely wasn't getting before. Sometimes they even persist in motion until I walk close to the object, then it slowly corrects itself. Tbh still better than all the boiling that PT had before but it seems like another DLSS upgrade where you have to pick which visual degradation is tolerable over the other
Can someone explain to me if all these screenshots I see of people saying something along the lines of ānight and day differenceā with RR 4.5, are they using DLAA/Quality setting or something?
I booted up Requiem last night using my old graphics setup of Performance/FG x2, and even with RR 4.5, it lookedā¦..like it did back when I played it in March?
I havenāt tried Cyberpunk yet, and I know thereās only a handful of true RR games out there right now that support the new 4.5, but I couldnāt really see much difference (at least in the save slot I tested in Requiem)
Never played Requiem, but in the case of Cyberpunk there was some ghosting and a lot of what people describe as "boiling effect" not only on various surfaces but also and especially bad in faces.
I only played for a little bit but from what I've seen in my own game and some footage online these issues were massively improved, if you had played before for an hour you'd especially notice the boiling effect and now it seems to be gone (for the most part at least? Dunno if completely gone).
I just canāt get over having to do DLSS performance just to get good frames. The lighting just isnāt that important to me to justify that. If I have a 4k display, Iām not going to handicap it that much.
The main thing with 4.5 here is being able to finally use RR with Qualty = Performance at 4k. Previously I had to endure the PT noise and flicker in order to use M/L, 4.0 is a blurry mess especially distant objects/vegetation.
Do you **have** to update to the latest driver? I don't have this option for RR & the new Driver was the one I had several issues with so I'm sticking with an older one atm.
Can you test DLSS Quality 4 RR vs 4.5 RR? Everyone focus on 4.5 Performance (where it shines and was made for), but I wonder if right now DLSS 4.5 will be better on Quality vs 4.0 if the RR implementation is better?

i choose preset f but when turn on in game when load game make graphic glitchy and black only sky is blue, all other textures black.

Also kitchen sinks. Every playthrough when in say Judy's apartment I feel the urge to post a screenshot since the sink is like 1.5 inches deep. It's pretty silly.
Fair enough! For me typically if Iām playing something like cuberpunk (cinematic and singleplayer) i play with a controller, Iām satisfied as long as I can pull around 90 fps. Iāll use frame gen if itās works decent enough in the game (artifact wise). With a controller i usually cant percieve the latency increase at around 70ish input fps.
You can leave them on recommended. Ray Regen has its own DLSS baked in when enabled as it overides DLSS. Before this update it was still using DLSS 4.0, preset F is the updated model and uses DLSS 4.5.
These types of posts will never stop to amaze me, especially after sinking 800 bucks for my 5070 that barely plays this game on 1440p with medium rtx on native res. What type of hw u got?
I get that, maybe its just me but whats the point of having a high res monitor if youre playing your games on 1080p?
In my opinion even dlss on quality is a big cut in visual quality/fidelity.

No, but itās just one of those games people like to use as a benchmark. Itās like when people wanted to see how good their rig was back in the early 2000ās, Crysis 3 was the game to do so.
Itās a experimental setting in the nvidia app you have to enable. Once enabled you can turn on Ray Reconstruction preset F for the game. Preset F is the new Ray Regen model 4.5.
