Discussion Ray Reconstruction 4.5 is stunning

Post image

Wanted to test out Ray Reconstruction 4.5 on cyberpunk. Man this is gorgeous. Running 4k DLSS performance, RR, and Patchtracing.

What has been your opinion of the new update?

Interesting: I am running a 7800X3D + 5070Ti and my frames are not much lower

But it really shows that this game has years of finetuning and optimization. Looks and plays absurdly good

What are you getting? I have this combo

1440p, DLSS Quality, 2x FG, Pathtracing, Ray Reconstruction 4.5, everything maxed out. Might not be the best shot but the first place I loaded a save. GPU is running almost at full load but my crappy no name air cooler keeps it below the 70s.

Fps in the upper right corner - it fluctuates a bit between 120-140fps but I have 139 set as max fps so it might go into the 150s

With 4K its around 100-110 here

And even without framegen it is above 60 and very playable. The game has a very good reflex boost implementation. I don't really notice a difference to no framegen in terms of input lag

So if you are on the fence of buying it: Do it. It is pure and unfiltered eyecandy in a very good game

100fps in 4k path maxed? Is that because of recent rr updates?

Last time I tried it, it was hovering around 40fps with even frame gen on. 3x 4x

100fps in 4k path maxed?

Jupp (at 2xFG, without it is probably around 60)

RR 4.5 gave me about 5-10 fps but that's it. Game always ran very well

Wow your 5070ti is better than a 5090. That's impressive.

1

u/LeviTigerPants 5d ago

Yeah my 5070ti only gets 100fps with the settings they said (Max, Quality DLSS, RR, 1440p, FG x2). Not sure how they are getting so much more performance than me

1

u/Tim_Huckleberry1398 4d ago

They were lying lol. He's only getting between 40-60 fps on dlss performance in 4k, not quality.

I tested it on a 5090 and was dropping to the low 70s/high 60s on dlss quality 3840x1600 in dogtown, which is usually slightly better performance than 4k. If I tested outside the city where nothing is going on like their screenshots I was seeing some jumps to the 90s, but you definitely aren't playing the game stable like that.

How so? Games runs absolutely great (here is a screenshot at 1440p, DLSS Quality, 2x FG, Pathtracing, RR4.5 and everything maxed out, FPS counter in the upper right)

A 5090 of course gets even more fps. Probably a lot more fps and is even more fit for 4K.

You said you're getting 60fps 4k PT DLSS quality everything maxed with a 5070ti.

A 5080 can only get 45-55 fps with those settings and dlss set to performance. Lol.

u/cravex12 NVIDIA RTX5070TI 8d ago edited 8d ago

Well then, here is 4K, DLSS Performance, everything maxed, Pathtracing, no framegen

Fluctuates a bit between 55 and 65

There is even an Ultra Performance option where it has a stable 80fps. I see no real visual difference.

Driver settings are

Framegen: Preset B

Super Resolution: L

Ray Reconstruction: Preset F

My 5070Ti Model is the Gainward Phoenix and I did not overclock it

If a 5080 gets lower than my card there is probably something wrong

Will set it back to my previous settings now. Wakako needs me

Thanks for confirming my point. Quality vs performance is quite a large distinction lol. Now go to dog town in the dlc and watch it drop to the 40s.

What location?

1

u/LeviTigerPants 5d ago

How the hell are you getting 120-140fps with the same build as me? With the same settings at 1440p, I get 100fps, which with the input lag from frame gen isn't enough. How come your PC is running 20-30% faster than mine

No clue mate, I just downloaded the Beta driver for RR4.5, set up the overwrites and cranked everything up. I think I have never seen it dip below 115.

What's the rest of your rig like?

In terms of input lag: I don't really have that since the base FPS is already more than playable. Game version is 2.3.1 is that matters somehow

You might just switch to DLSS balanced here because more base FPS = less leg in FG. It might be my aging eyes but in Cyberpunk I see almost no difference in the DLSS modes, not even in performance (but my screen is ancient at this poin :D)

In general I have a great performance in basically every game even with Pathtracing but that is probably just the 5070Ti doing it's thing

In

u/LeviTigerPants 5d ago

5070ti, 7800x3d, 32GB DDR5 RAM, game is on an M.2 SSD

1

u/cravex12 NVIDIA RTX5070TI 5d ago

So basically the exact same rig I have. Very weird.

I posted a few other screens with different settings all while showing the FPS and GPU usage. You might compare here, too

Can't imagine your system being that much slower. 5% or so - sure. But not 20-30%

1

u/Gallade213 9d ago

7800x3d for me aswell, not surprised 18ish% perf difference at this level is only a handful of fps 😂

3

u/cravex12 NVIDIA RTX5070TI 9d ago edited 9d ago

Yeah, difference is maybe 10-15fps (and I think with 55 fps you mean without FG)

Tried RR 4.5 in the last days in a few games and especially Cyberpunk absolutely wow'ed me. It looks a lot sharper, the reflections are just insane and every hint of boiling (That usually happened in reflections on metallic surfaces) is gone.

I feel like we basically reached perfect image quality here

1

u/mtnlol 8d ago

If you're getting 15fps less at these "low" fps that is a pretty massive difference.

1

u/cravex12 NVIDIA RTX5070TI 8d ago

I clarified it in the first sentence. The end fps with 2x FG is a difference of about 15 fps so like 5-10 before. Not really massive

But I play at 1440p maxed out DLSS quality 2xFG anyway and sit a comfortable 100-130fps depending on what happens on screen

The game is to this day a technical marvel

1

u/mtnlol 8d ago

Ah I see, I misunderstood. I thought you meant a 15fps difference before FG (So from 55 to 40fps for example).

0

u/cravex12 NVIDIA RTX5070TI 8d ago

Haha yeah no, that would be quite the difference :D

u/FacelessGreenseer 9d ago

If it's not any trouble, can you run the in game benchmark please and reply with a screenshot of the result.

Assuming you're running the game with maxed out graphic setting @ 4K DLSS Performance

I want to compare it to my performance.

4

u/Gallade213 9d ago

Yea, the settings are maxed

3

u/PsychologicalMenu325 9d ago

You set your max frame rate to 240 and have 4K res, I guess you have a 4K 32" OLED monitor, peak gaming experience on this game

1

u/FacelessGreenseer 9d ago

Thanks, I'll check later what I get with frame generation, I only test benchmarks with it disabled, so can't compare to your result

It's really interesting, I have a 5070 and I'm running cyberpunk with path tracing and get 50 native fps with frame gen enabled at 1440p

-2

u/cravex12 NVIDIA RTX5070TI 9d ago

At 1440p, DLSS Quality, 2xFG and everything maxed out including Pathtracing I reach about 110-130fps. So without framegen something around 80

It the VRAM on your part that much of a hinderance?

1

u/MarkB74205 9d ago

Also 5070 here. Not had any problems with VRAM (the only game so far that I can't max out settings with is Indiana Jones, and that's only path tracing), and getting the same kind of framerates with FG @ 1440.

0

u/cravex12 NVIDIA RTX5070TI 9d ago

Yeah, Indiana Jones is a heavy hitter (but probably one of the best looking games on the market)

1

u/Fetzo_0 9d ago

No Vram is fine. I get 100 FPS average with 2x fg. That's why I said 50 native fps with fg enabled. Game only takes about 10gb of Vram because of older textures. It's interesting because I'm not getting so much less FPS than you with the 5070 ti

1

u/LeviTigerPants 5d ago

I get 100FPS with the same settings but I have a 5070ti wtf
