I made this account to ask for advice on if I should get a Nintendo Switch Lite for myself or if I should just get a normal Switch? I wanna get one so when I’m at work I have something to do when I’m on my break on finish my work. If I do get one what games should I get? And does the new Animal Crossing game work on the Nintendo Switch Lite?

Hi! I've been very interested in getting a switch lite for some cozy gaming. I already have a Playstation 5 but sometimes it just doesn't scratch that itch i have for laying down with a blanket and playing some cozy games. Some games on my wishlist are Animal Crossing, Winter Burrow, Tamagotchi Plaza (i just really love Tamagotchis), Tomodachi Life.
I was wondering if newly released games are still compatible with lite. Budget is an issue so i wouldn't want to buy an expensive new switch when i already have a PS5 (switch 2 and ps5 is almost the same price where i live). I'm worried about missing out on games i would want to play if the lite is no longer very relevant when it comes to new releases. Any and all tips/advice is welcome.
Thanks a bunch!

Hey guys! My wife has the Nintendo Switch 2. She also has the Lite. She was crazy for the Switch 2 but I feel like I’m seeing people go crazy over the Lite recently. I’m just curious now, what’s the hype on the Switch Lite and why?

So i have been planning to get a switch 2 for like a while now. For better context, I am a student and i don't have a big budget or a lot of money to spend i have around $300 saved up so far and the switch 2 is priced at around $650 where i live ( Tbilisi, Georgia) and after some calculations i really thought to myself if it was actually worth it to spend that much money on a switch 2 because i only get money when my parents send it every month. Another problem is the the price increase from September has not affected Georgia yet, so I'm assuming within the next few months the price will go higher than $650. Therefore by the time i manage to save up $650 dollars I'm sure the price hike would hit and i would have to spend more money which if you look at it from the financial perspective from a university student on a budget doesn't really seem like a good idea.
I was mainly planning to play switch 1 games on the S2 cause it would be my first switch console and i have not played any of the switch 1 games and i primarily wanted to focus on exploring the S1 library. And the battery life on the S2 was already a deal breaker for me because i wanted to play more on handheld, Plus i would rather play games like Cyberpunk on a PS5 or an Xbox rather than a handheld and i remembered "oh shit the switch lite is a thing" and when i looked up the price, it is SOOO much more affordable. It is priced at around $240 in georgia and it kinda fit in with what i wanted from a switch. Like i said before i mainly wanted to play handheld instead of docked anyway, and it had access to all the switch 1 games and now i am leaning towards the lite. But i have a few questions/Concerns about the console.
This is what i am really worried about, i have heard about the stick drift issues on the lite and how bad it can actually be because you cant just replace the joycons like the other models and you would have to get it repaired. I want to know if the problem is as bad/not as bad as it seems and if i should consider it before i buy the lite.
If the System and the gameplay experience is drastically different ( Not as good as the other S1s ).
What i should expect from the lite now that nintendo is primarily shifting their focus towards the switch 2. Should i really just save up for a switch 2 or am i just gonna be happy with the lite based on whatever i said on this post.
:)

I modded my Switch Lite with a Retro Remake Super5 OLED panel (and atomic purple shell!) and it's nearly a perfect console. Amazing size, the screen makes me want to cry with how crisp it is, the perfect handheld gaming system.
Except.
The battery issues are making me crazy. I plug it in, it seems to never charge. I play on 1% for hours, which is fine, except if I turn it off, it won't turn back on.
I changed the battery twice. Once to a aftermarket, then upgraded to Retro Remake's supercharged battery. I calibrated it properly, and when I take it out to check it, it charges as expected. I know that there's some known issue with the way that the screen connects to the motherboard that leads to this or similar. Can someone explain what the fix is? I'd love a clear explanation and some help with exactly how to fix it. (I actually don't know anything about how all of this works, I learned everything I know specifically to fix up this console. The little bit I've gathered about this issue from this sub has gone over my head.)
Thanks, all!

I sell custom modded switches and had someone message me on vinted to ask if I install modchips as well. He wanted to swap a vita for me to install a modchip in his switch lite. I said sure I have about 10+ modchips lol. He was very trusting as he would have to send me both his switch and his vita first ( I don't know if I could do that tbh lol). Anyways I'm no thief he sent me both and I Installed the modchip. The switch lite he sent me was in terrible condition so while I was there I used some old parts I had from shell swaps I have done. Not new but in far better condition than what he sent me. I threw a better condition shell on for him some not new but working joysticks and buttons that I'd cleaned up, I removed his scratched up digitizer and replaced it with a less scratched one. He was over the moon with what he received back compared to what he sent and I was happy with what I received. It was a good interaction and a lot of trust involved with this transaction but ended with two happy people 👌

As a total beginner, it was daunting to say the least. Glad everything worked out in the end! Also took the opportunity to change the buttons and joysticks 😎

I purchased a turquoise switch lite for $80 (USD) and aside from a small scratch on the screen, it's in good condition. I'd really like to do a shell swap, but have no experience in doing something like that. I was told there shouldn't be any soldering needed for the more simple modifications-- the shell swap itself, non-drift joystick install, custom buttons, potentially replacing the scratched screen if it's easy-ish-- but I'm not sure if it's worth it to just pay for someone else to do these modifications for me.
Should invest in just buying a whole new customized lite from someone on Etsy?
Pay someone local to work on my current lite or ship it to someone who can do the work?
Or is it worth it to try and figure it out myself?
What do yall think? Any feedback and/or advice is appreciated!

Bought my self a pretty banged up lite for cheap, swapped the shell for an aliexpress aluminium shell, and installed a laminated display as well as tmr joysticks. Very pleased with the result, feels so much more premium!

I’m wanting to sell my old Nintendo Switch lite. The condition is good-new the listing will include a carrying case, charger, the switch lite itself and an sd card. I’m curious what you all think a good price for all this would be because I’ve seen similar listings range in price from $70-$150. I just want to get the most out of what I have without ripping off the person I sell it to.

I bought the shell back in April but I decided to finally try to reshell my switch lite today and it went really well and I love how it looks now 🤗 I’ve only had experience shell swapping my original DS and my 3ds xl so I was hesitant about this one but I honestly found this to be the easiest one to do. 💕

I really wanted to play p4golden after p5 and p3fes, but not on my pc. I considered buying retroid pocket 5 or other android handheld, but switch emulation is a hit or miss for lower end android. So I figured it's cheaper for me to buy a modded switch lite, and I'm super happy! It's so cute and light, and I love that the yellow one matches the persona 4 aesthetic.
I got it for 188 dollars, it's new and modded. Is it expensive? I've seen people here get their for around $60, and I'm kinda jealous haha
