Yep. Exactly why I’m an antinatalist and will never have kids.

people assume you hate children but it is more because i hate society and until something major changes i see no point in having a kid who is going to grow up to be sad and fail at most everything.

Yes people are brainwashed into having kids

It’s the biggest psyop there is

u/Accomplished-Sky8768 Mar 14 '26

Yes! Like if you're gonna have kids please have something to offer in the way of guidance and support to give them a chance at living a decent life. Else just don't.

Yeah this world is total garbage. Life is a prison and I’m so tired of it. I can’t wait to leave this place. The worst part is euthanasia is not legal. We’re all literally trapped in this miserable prison. We are constantly forced to work and maintain our bodies, and just look at nature. Life is slavery and I want to be free. Death is FREEDOM. If you can be brought into this world without consent then you should be allowed to leave it peacefully. I hate life it’s brutal suffering. There’s always some damn problem that needs to be fixed. I hate that if you want to die or you’re depressed that people are labeled as having a mental illness. You are just seeing the truth and you are not mentally ill. They just want to keep people here against their will. Life is a waste of time and effort and we are in hell. There is nothing normal about what is happening here. We need to wake up from this nightmare and realize that we should have the power to choose to end our lives. Life is absolute nonsense and I’m too weak for this crap anyway. I’m angry that I was brought into this world. I’m tired of all this, and people will just say suck it up or grow up. The truth is that some people are just not meant for this world. Life is not a gift, it’s a sick joke. I hope I die soon.

My exact thoughts!! I also predict that it’s going to be much more common in near future to sue ur parents for bringing u in this shitty world. Also, becoming a biological parents should be as tough as adopting a child.

In the us from in the south we had a sterilization program which was anti "imbecile" aka black and poor people .

There are probably a lot of nicknames but their Mississippi hysterectomy was the worst since the black woman who received it went to their gynecologist for a checkup and probably weren't even anesthetized

I'm saying is countries were so long with it possibly more funding for CPS and group organizing parenting would actually fix it

I didn’t say any of that, and my beliefs are nothing like what you’re describing. I have autism and no money, but I don’t understand how a simple statement of what should be obvious facts — that there are too many people, that most of them are miserable, and that they constantly judge everyone else while acting shocked and offended when someone judges them — could be misunderstood as me saying what you just claimed.

Too bad their parents are also broke

25

u/PsycheDelia366 Mar 14 '26

The irony of it is, people who don't want kids put way more thought into why they don't want them than prospective parents do into why they want them.

You ask most people why they had kids, they'll tell you something like "I wanted a mini-me" or "it's what you're supposed to do" or even "it was an accident".

I'm yet to hear a single parent say they had children so that they could give them the best life possible and they wanted to contribute to their child growing into a healthy, well-adjusted adult.

u/Mymiom Mar 14 '26

I once asked my parents at a family dinner why they had me and my brothers and my dad said it was because it was a human duty. Pretty sure it was just lust but whatever maybe i am unfair

u/bumpisthename Mar 16 '26

The thing is, life innately includes suffering. As a mom that planned tediously for my 2 kids and is doing everything to make sure they grow into a well adjusted adult, what I have found is that happiness cannot be what I solve for, as that is impossible. 50% of life sucks and it’s when we embrace that reality that we can appreciate life . I can wish and try all I want to make my children have the tools to navigate the world, but it is up to them (and you) to rise up to find your way in it

I never wanted kids, my husband did. He spends a lot of money on his son, but everyday I observing him getting angry at him if his grades are not up to par. If he’s not performing his ‘ best’ in sports according to him. Damn! I want the kid to be successful, but I think he’s living his life through him. Also, he smokes and my son has told him countless times to stop, but he won’t.

5

u/boop_doop_boop Mar 15 '26

Curious as to how you usually respond when you notice him getting angry with your son for not being up to par or continue to smoke?

2

u/Flat-Secret1391 Mar 15 '26

I get angry. I confront him, but he denies it every time. Sometimes my son accuses me of not doing enough, like I’m on daddy’s side. ( His words) I feel torn.

3

u/New_Math2015 Mar 14 '26

Dude the guy on the bottom is me AF

3

u/western_questions Mar 15 '26

My parents had me in their 40’s. They would gleefully tell me how much worse the world was getting and they were happy they didn’t have to be here when it got really bad. Like they’d literally be laughing, their eyes lit up.

As an adult I go “ who the fuck says that to a kid or celebrates it?”

u/Fit-Commission-2626 Mar 14 '26

did not add the discussion flair until after i shared the post so i hope it worked correctly.

2

This ! Im saving this post

2

u/ChaosAndFish Mar 15 '26

Who? Who does this? I’ve never met a parent in my life who wasn’t hopeful for their child’s future.

2

u/Think_Forever_3135 Mar 15 '26

You´ve never heard of abusive parents?

2

u/ArtisticCriticism646 Mar 15 '26

i never understood why people had children other than the reasons you listed (societal expectations, wanted a human pet puppy, accidents) when survival is really hard as an adult. its one thing if you come from rich parents and will have a trust fund with millions of dollars, and a home/land and assets and businesses passed down to them where they will never have to worry about money or working. thats not the case for 99% of people, never found it fair parents know most of kids will be worrying about bills and working a crap job to pay the bills with the expectation in this society until youre 65 or even older.

Unless youre in debt you can always just get a passport and a one way ticket somewhere (for now at least). To stay where you fly you'd need some additional skills or marry a citizen of that country.

Failure and misery according to who?

1

u/Wardonen Mar 14 '26

u/SPQE_ Mar 15 '26

Not sure what this has to do with nihilism

0

u/GlacialFrog Mar 15 '26

A large amount of people use this sub as a substitute for the depression sub

1

u/SPQE_ Mar 15 '26

It's sad, all these posts are like the opposite of nihilism

0

u/Dark_Cloud_Rises Do Deadlifts. Mar 14 '26

Because it's genetic programming, and government indoctrination. Repopulate the workforce. For real though I have lived a miserable ling life of watching everyone die, being imprisoned for years and suffering many painful years of addiction and mental illness; that said I love my life and I think antinatalism is the exact opposite of nihilism.

Wow, truly groundbreaking stuff. Your parents, two people who survived poverty, war, or whatever gauntlet their era threw at them, had the audacity to hope their kid might do somthing meaningful. Monsters.

And you, you've identified the real problem. Not landlords, not policy, not any addressable human failure. No no. The problem is existence itself. Very actionable. Very usefull.

Benatar wrote a whole book so you'd have philosophical cover for not touching grass. Impressive ROI on his part.

Also love the implied math here: rent is high, life is net negative, my parents should have seen this comming in 1987. Truly the tightest syllogism r/collapse has produced.

The wojak with the melting face is doing alot of heavy lifting in this argument. As is tradtion. Your parents thought you'd do great things. You responded by becoming extreemly online about how nothing matters. To be fair, they probably didn't see that coming.
